  • Patent number: 11871149
Abstract: A multi-modal portal system provides an authorization prior to establishing a visual interface connection between a support user or caller and a client user or receiving party. Once the caller is authorized, the caller is permitted to drop-in such that a visual interface connection is established with the receiving party. The authorization can be based on a profile configuration that indicates whether the caller has the credentials required for the visual interface. The authorization can require that a notification be sent to a trusted user or primary contact or the caller can be associated with a profile configuration that allows for a pre-authorization without requiring the notification. By providing such an authorization, a secure and private visual interface with the client user can be accomplished without requiring an express action or consent by the client user.

  • Patent number: 11856138
Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for determining whether a communication request is associated with a legitimate communication or spoof communication, prior to establishing the connection. A Parallel Path Caller Verification (PPCV) controller is described that is configured to intercept a communication request from an originating device and generate a proof-of-identity (PoI) message for delivery to the originating device. Upon receipt of a reply message that is responsive to the PoI message, the PPCV controller may determine whether the communication is a legitimate communication. If the communication is determined as legitimate, the PPCV controller may establish a communication based on the communication request.

  • Patent number: 11853645
Abstract: A machine is configured to identify a media file that, when played to a user, is likely to modify an emotional or physical state of the user to or towards a target emotional or physical state. The machine accesses play counts that quantify playbacks of media files for the user. The playbacks may be locally performed or detected by the machine from ambient sound. The machine accesses arousal scores of the media files and determines a distribution of the play counts over the arousal scores. The machine uses one or more relative maxima in the distribution in selecting a target arousal score for the user based on contextual data that describes an activity of the user. The machine selects one or more media files based on the target arousal score. The machine may then cause the selected media file to be played to the user.

  • Patent number: 11849073
Abstract: A system controller for use in a videoconferencing system having multiple videoconferencing rooms each including a videoconferencing codec, includes a communication interface in communication with a videoconferencing codec located in the same videoconferencing room as the system controller, a memory configured to store information about the videoconferencing room in which the system controller is located, and a processor configured to execute computer-executable instructions stored in the memory to receive one or more commands transmitted by a mobile computing device in response to determining whether a videoconferencing room in which the system controller is located is within a defined proximity of the mobile computing device. The processor is configured to control, via the communication interface, the videoconferencing codec located in the same videoconferencing room as the system controller, according to the one or more commands to establish or control a videoconference in the same videoconferencing room.

  • Patent number: 11849257
Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-attendee video conferencing are described. A system can convert from huddle video conference mode to spatial video conference mode. In particular, by assigning user roles, specific users can have greater control of the video conference as compared to other users. For instance, moderators may have a greater level of control of the video conferencing system. Thus, in example implementations of the present disclosure, specific users can affect transition between two or more video conferencing modes, such as between a huddle video conference mode and a spatial video conference mode.

  • Patent number: 11841932
Abstract: A system and method may adjust the threshold or other settings in a biometric comparison system, or provide a report or display of parameters. Over a series of comparisons of authentication biometric samples (e.g. authentication VPs) to enrollment biometric samples (e.g. enrollment VPs), the authentication samples may be stored, and scores resulting from the biometric comparisons may be stored in a first set of scores. A second set of biometric comparisons may be created, each using a pairing of a stored authentication biometric sample and an enrollment biometric sample, each biometric comparison resulting in a score, the scores forming a second set of scores. The first and second sets of scores may be combined to produce a third set of scores, and an iterative process may be performed over the third set of scores to update the parameters of the Gaussian distribution of the third set of scores.

  • Patent number: 11838442
Abstract: Systems and methods for making a multitrack recording of a telephony communication, such as a conference call, record the contributions of each participant its own respective, separate recording track. In some instances, the contribution(s) of one or more participants is recorded in separate recording tracks, and the contributions of multiple other participants is mixed and recorded in a single recording track. An organizer or administrator of a telephony communication, such as a conference call, can instruct a multitrack recording system as to how to format a multitrack recording of the telephony communication via commands submitted through an application programming interface (API).
