  • Patent number: 11573974
Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic error rejection are provided. Systems and methods described herein bypass the creation of a staging table at the outset and, instead, attempt a direct merge from a source data location to a target data location. In the event that the merge fails, then a temporary/staging table can be loaded where errors can be logged, validations can be performed, and erroneous data can be corrected.

  • Patent number: 11550835
Abstract: A method of automatically generating content summaries for topics includes receiving a taxonomy for a concept and a text corpus. The method further includes generating an annotated dataset having term annotations corresponding to the concept from the text corpus based on the taxonomy, parsing the annotated dataset into a custom generated document object having a structured layout, determining features for the term annotations, and extracting snippets from the custom generated document object, where each of the snippets corresponds to a section of the custom generated document object. The method further includes scoring the snippets based on the features such that each of the snippets corresponds to a score, filtering one or more snippets from the snippets when one or more snippet filtering conditions is met, ranking the snippets into an ordered list for the concept based on the score, and providing, to a user computing device, the ordered list.

  • Patent number: 11531602
Abstract: A system according to certain aspects improves the process of data restoration and application recovery operations. The system can back up primary data based on network path information associated with a client computing device. When the primary data becomes corrupted or unavailable, a previously backed up copy of the primary data may be used as the primary data to achieve instant application recovery. For example, when a portion of the primary data is requested by a user or an application, the system may identify a corresponding portion in the backed up copy of the primary data and provide the identified portion to the user or the application in a manner transparent to the user or the application. Alternatively, the application running on the client computing device may send a request for the backup copy of the primary data to the secondary storage device upon determining that the requested data is not available.

  • Patent number: 11513700
Abstract: A method for execution by one or more processing modules of one or more computing devices of a dispersed storage network (DSN). The method includes performing multiple splits in a single operation with a dispersed lockless concurrent index (DLCI) backed by a distributed transaction protocol by determining how many nodes n are required to hold data object entries, adding the n nodes to a distributed transaction, and when a parent node does not require a cascading split, adding it to the distributed transaction, and when the parent node needs to be split, recursively applying the determining and adding steps to the parent node until reaching a node that does not need to be split or is a root node of the DLCI.

  • Patent number: 11509734
Abstract: A social networking system maintains characteristics with its users, with various characteristics, such as age, specified by the users (i.e., “asserted characteristics”). The social networking system selects content for a user based at least in part on the characteristics associated with the user. To account for potential inaccuracies in an asserted age of a user, the social networking system clusters users based on ages of other users connected to users. The online system receives verified ages for users in a cluster from a trusted third party system that maintains more accurate characteristics for users than the social networking system. By comparing the asserted ages for users in the cluster to the verified ages for users in the cluster, the social networking system determines an accuracy of the asserted ages for users in the cluster. The accuracy may be used when selecting content for the users.

  • Patent number: 11500854
Abstract: In a production environment, an entry is logged in a log journal to represent a read operation on a record of a file. A problematic transaction in a batch job is selected and set of operations performed by the problematic transaction is intercepted. The set includes a combination of read, write, update, delete operations, and operations that use external resources. A window of entries is determined in the log journal where the entry is a beginning entry in the window and an ending entry is a last entry captured in the log journal before detecting the error. From the window, those entries are filtered that correspond to the record. A final value of the record is copied from the production environment to a development environment and rolled back in the development environment to an initial value stored in the beginning entry. The problematic transaction is performed in the development environment.
