  • Patent number: 5370157
Abstract: An arrangement for releasably fastening an elongate first member (1), such as a heald rod in a loom, within a second member (2), such as a coupling element between the heald rod and a shaft drive. The second member includes a first recess (4a) forming a cavity (4) and a second recess (4b) for receiving the first member. A fastener (3) is threadably coupled to the second member within a third recess (4c). The fastener engages the first member at a bearing point (5) within the cavity to fix the first and second members together. This engagement bends the first member within the cavity so that relative movement between the two members is reduced or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5365983
Abstract: A device comprises a member having a number of recesses open on one side, into which the shaft rods of a loom can be inserted and movably retained. The device also includes a mechanism which prevents an unintentional removal of the shaft rods. The positional relationship of the device with respect to the shaft drive in a loom ensures that the shaft rods not required perform a lifting movement during the operation of the loom.

  • Patent number: 5363883
Abstract: The thread braking device comprises a pair of braking members, which are arranged symmetrically in respect to the path of the thread. Each of the braking members has a spring member. Between these spring members a line-shaped, vertically arranged braking zone is defined. For braking, the spring members are pivoted on rockers towards the thread path. Due to this movement as well as due to the vertical arrangement of the spring members, the deposition of contaminations in the braking zone is avoided. The elasticity of the spring members reduces the danger of damage in the presence of thickened thread sections.

  • Patent number: 5361807
Abstract: The harness cords of a Jacquard loom are connected at their lower ends by elongate return springs to a stationary support, which is mounted on the base of the loom. Mounted on the base of the loom beneath the support for reciprocation between opposite sides of the loom is a nozzle which is connected at one end to a supply of compressed air and has at its opposite, upper end an arcuate slot from which a stream of air is directed upwardly toward the lower ends of the return springs in a plane extending parallel to the harness cords, but transversely in the direction of movement of the nozzle, thereby to blow away lint which otherwise would collect adjacent the lower ends of the return springs.

  • Patent number: 5360038
Abstract: A shedding device and a method for joining the ends of a fabric into an endless belt of fabric, or, alternatively, joining the ends of separate pieces of fabric into a single piece of fabric. The shedding device employs a plurality of heddles supported at only one end, allowing the heddles to be individually moved or adjusted. The heddles are connected to the top ends of piston rods of a plurality of pneumatic cylinders. The heddles move up and down to shift threads passing through the heddles, so as to form a shed. The shedding method employs an interweaving piece of fabric, with a portion of the interweaving piece having only weft threads. The weft thread of the interweaving piece interwoven with the warp threads of the ends of the fabric to be joined. Alternatively, the weft threads of the interweaving piece can be interwoven with the weft threads of the ends of the fabric to be joined.

  • Patent number: 5360178
Abstract: A multiple coiling machine for winding electrical coils with different coil wires and different coil wire gauges . A wire guide head is pivotally mounted on a support and has at least two wire guides offset from each other. The wire guide head is pivotable so that one of the wire guides is in a winding position and the other wire guide is in a stand-by position. Two clamps are positioned on the head adjacent the pivot axis of the wire guide head. The wire guide head has a slit in the shape of an arc through which a pair of reversing pins is disposed at a distance from each other on the support. Two clamps and two wire guides are provided on opposite sides of the arc. The coil wire is guided around the reversing pin and can be pulled back into the appropriate wire guide by means of the clamp which is pivotable into the stand-by position. The wire guide head is mounted in a bore of the support by means of a pin, so that it is pivotable. A pair of stop faces limit the pivoting movement of the wire guide head.

  • Patent number: 5355605
Abstract: A display device is formed of thin plastic sheet material extending about a peripheral frame. The frame is formed of a relatively stiff annular core element encapsulated within a resilient foam sheath or shell. In attaching the plastic sheet to the annular frame, edge areas of the sheet are wrapped about the surface of the rubber shell so that the shell is deformed inwardly toward the frame central axis, whereby the deformed shell exerts outward force on the plastic sheet to prevent or remove wrinkling of the sheet. The display device may be suspended, as from a cord or a button on a garment of a person.

  • Patent number: 5353844
Abstract: A method and weaving machine for weaving a thick reinforcing fabric comprising multiple noncleaving layers with a 2.5 D or 3 D type structure. The warp yarns successively move into a yarn joining comb, a calibrating comb and then into a dobby weaving unit, where the warp yarns on n superimposed laps are separated upstream of the calibrating comb, n being equal to (N- 1/2 ) and N being the number of layers of said reinforcement so as to have (N- 1/2 ) warp yarns moving into each tooth of the calibrating comb. Two adjacent yarns of a given tooth of the calibrating comb are threaded into the eyes of two heddles of the same row of two heddle frames of the dobby, so that the displacement planes of two adjacent yarns during formation of the shed form between them a sufficient angle so as to prevent the yarns from catching on one another.

This lifter cord is passed around under the roller of the roller element, around over the bottom roller of the lifter element, and is extended back down, where it connected to the warp threads. The rollers are placed on shafts, which, in a horizontal plane, form an angle (.alpha.) relative to a line parallel to the direction of the knives. The roller of the roller element is placed on a shaft which, in a horizontal plane along the other side, forms an angle (.beta.

  • Patent number: 5351724
Abstract: An electropneumatic device for the automatic threading of apparatuses for feeding weft to textile machines, and a weft feeding apparatus including the device. The device has first and second ducts for feeding pressurized pneumatic fluid. The ducts are cut off by a manually-actuated valve and end in thread inlet and outlet bushes to create a pneumatic flow and a consequent suction current which entrains the thread from one end of the feeder apparatus to the other. An intermediate open channel is arranged adjacent and parallel to the drum of the apparatus to convey the pneumatic flow and the thread entrained thereby in the free portion comprised between the radial arm outlet and a thread brake. A pneumatic pusher is fed by a third pneumatic duct and is arranged at the outlet of the intermediate channel. The pusher acts on a braking device to deform it and hinder elastic action applied to the drum, so as to guide the thread entrained by the flow through the braking device.
