Patent number: 5351721Abstract: When mispicking occurs, a weft yarn continuous with a mispicked weft yarn is inserted into the shed of warp yarns in a loop by the jetting of a main picking nozzle and auxiliary picking nozzles. A weft yarn retaining member is positioned in the loop of the weft yarn and the mispicked weft yarn is pulled to be removed from the picking side by way of the weft yarn. Given auxiliary picking nozzles stop jetting when the weft yarn is inserted in a loop so that the tip end of the loop of the inserted weft yarn is limited in the extent to which it moves in the picking direction, and thus does not extend substantially beyond the arriving side of the shed of warp yarns, so as to prevent entanglement thereof with various other members.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1993Date of Patent: October 4, 1994Assignee: Tsudakoma Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigeharu Sawada, Satoshi Azuma, Yoshinobu Tobe

Patent number: 5348054Abstract: A device for coupling two outer parts (3) to a third part (2) disposed therebetween. The device includes a plurality of fasteners 7 each threadably mounted to an opening (9) in one of the outer parts and a cylindrical recess (6a) in the third part. Each fastener 7 has a conical head 7a that rests against the opening in the outer part. The outer parts project over the cylindrical recess so that an annular cavity is formed between the head of the fastener and the third part. Thus, the head of the fastener elastically deforms the outer part into the annular cavity so that additional forces may be transmitted from the outer part to the third part. In addition, the inner surface of each outer part is parallel to the third part so that the third part may be replaced without any effective movement of the outer parts.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1993Date of Patent: September 20, 1994Assignee: Sulzer Ruti AGInventor: Gustav Oertli

Patent number: 5345976Abstract: In order to avoid or at least minimize weft thread breaking in an air nozzle loom, the supply of pressurized air to the relay nozzles is controlled in such a manner that the velocity of the blowing air is diminished toward the end of the weft thread insertion channel near its exit end. As a result, the tension on the weft thread is correspondingly reduced and the diminishing of the blowing air velocity can take into account any dynamic characteristics of the particular type of thread being inserted. Additionally, upon completion of the travelling weft thread insertion field, a weft thread tensioning field is imposed on the weft thread for properly tensioning the weft thread for the beat up. The tensioning following the insertion is applied only by selected nozzles or groups of nozzles, for example, by a group in the center of the weaving width and by a group toward the exit end of the insertion channel.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1993Date of Patent: September 13, 1994Assignee: Lindauer Dornier GmbHInventor: Alain Lazzarotto
