  • Patent number: 10602006
Abstract: An operation terminal is held by and detachable from a holder on an MFP. The operation terminal includes a touch panel with a display region for an operation screen for the MFP. The touch panel senses an external object touching the display region. A vibrator unit applies vibration to the display region. In response to the touch panel sensing the object, a response controller unit instructs the vibrator unit to apply to the display region vibration responsive to the object. The response controller unit checks whether the operation terminal is held by or detached from the holder at the time the touch panel senses the object, and when the operation terminal is held by the holder, sets the responsive vibration to a level lower than when the operation terminal is detached from the holder.

  • Patent number: 10457068
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, a controller sequentially selects a plurality color determination pixels within a determination area, determine whether the color determination pixel has a chromatic color, whether a first pixel adjacent to the color determination pixel is black, and determine whether a second pixel apart from the color determination pixel by one pixel. The controller determines that a first trapping process is to be executed when the color determination pixel has a chromatic color and the first pixel is black, and a second trapping process when the color determination pixel has a chromatic color, the second pixel is black, and the intermediate pixels located between the color determination pixel and the second pixel are black. Thereafter, the controller executes a first trapping process and a second trapping process, but restricts the second trapping process to the pixel on which the first trapping process is to be executed.

  • Patent number: 10432814
Abstract: A hardware processor of an image forming apparatus is able to obtain saving target information from a time of a power-off operation to a time of power supply interruption and to save the saving target information, in a nonvolatile storage of the image forming apparatus, as first snapshot data (for restoring a state at a predetermined time after firmware is activated). When a power-on operation is performed after the time of the power-off operation, the hardware processor determines whether to perform a first high-speed startup process using the first snapshot data as an apparatus startup process with respect to the image forming apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10423367
Abstract: Print shop operations may be visualized graphically to show relationships between a stream of incoming print jobs and a group of available print production devices, such as printing and finishing machines. A visualization process is performed with microservices to generate UI device panes, which form elements of a graphic user interface from which print shop operation can be monitored or controlled. Each microservice corresponds a different one of the print production devices. This can allow for rapid adjustments and customization of the UI, as may be needed due to user feedback, change in user requirements, and introduction of new print production devices to the print shop. Information may be added to the graphic user interface in combination with the UI device panes to facilitate assignment of print jobs to particular print production devices and/or to show which devices can be used sequentially or in parallel to complete the print jobs.

  • Patent number: 10417539
Abstract: A processor causes a transmission circuit to output a carrier signal intermittently. Each time the carrier signal is output, the processor determines whether or not a level of a detection signal is in a satisfactory state. In a first case where the level of the detection signal is determined to be in the satisfactory state, the processor performs a read control to cause the transmission circuit to perform a precharge process and a transmission process. In a second case where the level of the detection signal is not determined to be in the satisfactory state, the processor determines that the unit attachment portion is in a unit non-attachment state. In the first case, when the processor succeeds in identifying the developer information, the processor determines that the unit attachment portion is in a unit attachment state, and otherwise, determines that the unit attachment portion is in an exceptional state.
