  • Patent number: 10209928
Abstract: A method enables automatically printing a translation of a document without user interaction with a printer local user interface. A trigger event caused by connecting an external storage device with a printer is detected. The storage device includes a folder storing a source document or an access link it. The folder includes information which enables the printer to identify a printing protocol from a plurality of printing protocols. The protocols include at least one translation printing protocol which specifies that the source document is to be translated prior to printing. The source document is retrieved from the folder or from a remote location. The printing protocol is identified, based on the information. When the printing protocol is one of the at least one translation printing protocols, a translation of the source document is obtained in a target language. The translation of the source document is printed on the printer.

  • Patent number: 10212299
Abstract: What is disclosed is a system and method for detecting a folded page in a digital image of a scanned document. In one embodiment, the present method involves receiving a digital image of a document which has been converted to a digitized form using a document scanning device. The digital image is segmented horizontally and vertically to obtain a plurality of image segments. An edge profile is generated for the horizontal and vertical segments. A determination is then made, based on a comparison of the profiles, whether a page fold exists in the digital image. If a page fold is determined to exist in the digital image, the user is notified and the digital image is not sent to a print engine. Otherwise, the digital image is printed.

  • Patent number: 10191705
Abstract: During processing of job documents in a document processing workflow, execution of the workflow is stopped at a previously defined first sequentially processed node until no more of the job documents can be directed to the first sequentially processed node by the workflow. Then, the job documents that have been stopped at the first sequentially processed node are arranged in a document order, and the sequentially processed nodes are executed for each of the multiple job documents that have been stopped (and such job documents are processed one at a time through the sequentially processed nodes). Thus, execution waits until an immediately previous one of the job documents (in the document order) has finished processing at a previously defined last sequentially processed node before starting processing an immediately subsequent one of the job documents (in the document order) at the first sequentially processed node.

  • Patent number: 10187534
Abstract: Redundant monitoring of the same printer by multiple monitoring devices when multiple monitoring devices monitor multiple printers is prevented in a network system 1 including a printer, multiple monitoring devices able to monitor printer states, and an information processing device. A monitoring device requests, at a specific interval, from one or more printers targeted for monitoring, a response of printer state information related to a state of the printer; receives printer state information in response to the request; and sends the received printer state information to the information processing device. The information processing device manages the state of the printer based on the received printer state information. When requested for a response of printer state information by a different monitoring device, the printer stops requesting a response of printer state information by monitoring devices other than a specific monitoring device.
