  • Patent number: 11389621
Abstract: A method and system of and for securing a lumen or catheter, after placement in a patient, to prevent unwanted removal or dislodgement of the lumen or catheter caused by patient movement and/or further medical interventions such as cardiopulmonary chest compressions, electrical defibrillation, surgical procedures, and the like. The method and system comprising simple and sterile materials that preclude the use of excessive suturing and ineffective ad-hoc methods with tape and gauze. The catheter is secured by a rubber on plastic frictional force and will resist external forces while preventing the tube structure from bending and subsequent occlusion. The device can be comfortably attached to the patient in all of the anatomical locations typically targeted for large catheter installment. The method of securement is rapid and requires only a single personnel to handle the device and the catheter tube simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 11389598
Abstract: An injector includes a housing, a needle hub movably mounted within the housing and an injection needle supported by the hub. The hub and the needle are axially translatable between retracted and injection positions. A needle shield, having an aperture, is movably connected to the housing between first and second positions. The needle extends through the needle shield aperture in the injection position of the needle and the first position of the needle shield, and the needle is blocked from extending through the needle shield aperture in the second position of the needle shield. When the needle shield is in the second position and the hub and the needle are in the injection position, the needle shield covers the tip of the needle and subsequent movement of the needle shield toward the first position axially translates the hub and the needle back toward the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 11364342
Abstract: An injection device for delivering a dose of medicament from a syringe (5), the injection device comprising a housing (10), a plunger (210) moveably mounted within the housing (10), an actuation mechanism (200), a trigger mechanism (40), and a plunger velocity regulator. The actuation (mechanism (100) is arranged to provide a forward biasing force to urge the plunger (210) forward in use to express a dose of medicament, and the trigger mechanism (40) is arranged to releasably hold the plunger (210) against the force of the actuation mechanism (200). The plunger velocity regulator comprises a cam surface (262) associated with the housing, and a cam member (252) associated with the plunger (210) and arranged to engage the cam surface (262) during actuation movement of the plunger (210) such that axial movement of the plunger (210) relative to the housing (10) causes relative rotational movement of the cam member (252) which limits the forward velocity of the plunger movement.
