Abstract: A battery assembly for an electric vehicle is provided that includes a housing, one or more battery units, and a mounting system. The one or more battery units are disposed within the housing. The mounting system is disposed adjacent to a top surface, e.g., on a planar top surface or within an upwardly oriented concavity. The mounting system has a frame member bracket and a housing bracket system. The housing bracket system includes a housing bracket, a load member and a vibration isolator. The housing bracket is configured to be coupled to the frame member bracket. The load member has a first portion disposed adjacent to an upper surface and a second portion disposed along a lateral portion of the housing. The vibration isolator is disposed between the load member and the housing bracket. The vibration isolator is configured to reduce load transmission from the frame member of the vehicle to the housing.

The first portion has a top configured as an open-top receptacle. The resilient cushion is disposed in and is coupled to the open-top receptacle. The resilient cushion has a sloped top surface where the sloped top surface is sloped towards a first side of the open-top receptacle. The resilient cushion is adapted to support an infant car seat thereon. The second portion is coupled to the first portion at a second side of the open-top receptacle. The elongate arm member is pivotably coupled to the pivot portion of the base plate at a first end portion thereof, and the cuff member is coupled to the elongate arm member. The elongate arm member is configured to pivotably rotate about an axis of rotation of the pivot portion such that the elongate arm member and cuff member coupled thereto are capable of moving fore and aft of a lateral axis of a snowboard.
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for replicating the experience of snow skiing on dry land using a roller land ski with an ability to move and stop consistent with mechanics of an actual snow ski. Each land ski includes a rigid platform with a binding for engagement with a specialized boot, a pair of biased omnidirectional casters supporting said rigid platform, but mounted to a top surface of said platform, and a pair of trucks with a plurality of wheels along its curved axles. A pair of specialized boots constructed out of flexible lightweight material with a stiff support structure to fortify a user's foot and ankle from the forces created by the land ski are included in this system. The method includes calibration and selection of materials for both the board and boot in order to achieve the desired experience.

The gripping surface may be disposed on a support surface, such as a deck of a skateboard or a deck of a balance board. The projections may be formed by cutting the support surface with a router, such as a computer numerical control router. The projections may each comprise three or more angles surfaces, whereby angled surfaces of proximal projections are positioned at mirror angles of one another.
Abstract: A self-propelled, one-wheeled vehicle may include a board having two deck portions each having a concave front footpad configured to receive a foot of a rider, and a wheel assembly disposed between the deck portions. The concave front footpad has a rider detection sensor in the form of a membrane switch conforming to the shape of the footpad (e.g., facilitated by one or more slots formed in the membrane switch). A motor assembly drives the vehicle in response to board orientation and rider detection information.

Abstract: An apparatus for transporting objects over soft and hard surfaces is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cart and a sled. The cart includes a base plate, toggles mounted at a top surface of the base plate, wheels mounted at a bottom surface of the base plate, and a cart handle mounted to the base plate. The sled includes eyelets and cables drawn through the eyelets. Further, the sled includes clips mounted at sidewalls of the sled. The sled is used for holding objects during transportation. The cables are used for pulling the sled over the soft surface for transporting the objects. Further, the sled holding the objects is placed over the base plate, and the toggles are mounted to the clips to mount the sled to the cart. The cart handle is used for pulling the cart over the hard surface for continued transporting of the objects.

Abstract: A fender for a cycling apparatus is provided. The fender may include a front portion, a rear portion, and an outer surface and an inner surface that each extend from the rear portion to the front portion. The fender may further include a mount portion disposed between the rear portion and the front portion. The mount portion may include a first engagement part configured to engage with at least one blade of a pair of spaced apart blades of a fork assembly, and a second engagement part. A first engagement part may be configured minimize side-to-side motion of the fender relative to a fork assembly and a second engagement part configured to minimize fore-and-aft motion of the fender relative to the fork assembly. Abstract: A nose-dive prevention device for a one-wheeled motorized transportation device is disclosed, which has wheels that strike the ground in the event of a nose-dive situation, instead of the bumper, which could otherwise become abruptly hung and thus throw the rider. The nose-dive prevention device has a base for attachment to the front of the one-wheeled motorized transportation device, and one or more wheels connected to and extending from the base. The wheels are positioned to interpose between the front end of the one-wheeled motorized transportation device and the ground and contact the ground when the front end exceeds a nose-dive angle. However, under normal riding conditions, the wheels are spaced above the ground at a height sufficient to allow normal angular variability of the riding platform needed for control of the one-wheeled motorized device.
Abstract: A telemark ski binding has a toe retainer pivotally coupled to a base. A lock assembly of the binding has an actuator assembly. The lock assembly is adjustable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. The binding further has a heel retainer rotatably coupled to the toe retainer. When the lock assembly is in the unlocked configuration, the toe retainer is unlocked, and the toe retainer and heel retainer are both rotatable together substantially inline, relative to the base, around a first center point. When the lock assembly is in the locked configuration, the toe retainer is locked, and the toe retainer is restrained from rotating relative to the base. The heal retainer is rotatable relative to the toe retainer around a second center point. The second center point is at a different location from said first center point.
