Abstract: A system for transmitting information related to a network-based marketplace includes identifying information that may be interesting, useful, and entertaining to the users and to the potential users of the network-based marketplace. The identified information may be other than information that is already being displayed in listings by the network-based marketplace. The identified information may be about the sellers, the buyers or other items related to the items offered for sale.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide devices, methods, and computer-readable storage media for determining information of an object from a captured image. Further, the disclosed device responds to a user input by capturing, with the camera, image data representing an object. The device then transmits, via a messaging application through a network interface to a server, the image data and a request for information relating to the object. The object information is received via the messaging application through the network from the server and is displayed on the display screen.

Abstract: In general, this disclosure describes techniques for hierarchical management of co-location facility assets and permissions. For example, techniques are described for managing permissions for sub-customer access to reseller assets of a co-location facility, where the sub-customers are customers of the reseller. The techniques as described herein may, as a result, enable customers that become resellers to assign assets of the cloud exchange and manage sub-customer permissions to those assigned assets, including sub-customer orderings and/or access of assets associated with one or more geographically distinct co-location facilities and port-level assets.

Abstract: In embodiments, methods and systems for order management and processing based on a distributed commerce platform are provided. A distributed commerce platform supports end-to-end integrated product publication, order-management and payment services. In particular, the distributed commerce platform supports components based on Application Programming Interfaces (API) that standardize the implementation of a distributed commerce solution or configuration of off-site buying experiences. Using the distributed commerce platform, merchants can concurrently offer, sell, and process orders for products through a plurality of different affiliate channels. The distributed commerce platform can also be implemented as a federated portal from which a merchant can identify affiliate channels to publish product objects, access the plurality of affiliate channels and define configurations for processing objects of the merchant's distributed commerce solution.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes generating a query based on a seed product offer that describes a product being offered for sale and executing the query, using a search engine that normalizes search terms in the query, on a plurality of product offers to determine candidate offers. The candidate offers are likely associated with the product. The method further includes determining one or more common attribute values across corresponding attributes of the candidate offers. The method additionally includes for each attribute value of each candidate offer, scoring the attribute value based on whether it matches one or more of the common attribute values, and updating a set of normalized attribute values for the product to include the attribute value based on whether the score is greater than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: Information analysis and display systems and methods include receiving first financial information regarding a user, and calculating a target home price based on the received financial information. A user interface display is generated that displays the target home price, and modifications to the target home price from the user are received via the user interface. Homes for sale are evaluated based on the target price.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for enabling a parts supplier to verify that a customer's part or part assembly requirements are satisfied and for creating a label for a shipping container in which the parts or part assemblies are shipped to the customer. The system also verifies that the label matches the parts and/or part assemblies that have been loaded into the shipping container.

Abstract: A system for mitigating returns is disclosed. In particular, the system may analyze an order made by a user for an item. The system may apply one or more filters to the order to determine if the ordered item is compatible with the user's profile, devices, accounts, preferences, or a combination thereof. Based on the application of the filters, the system may determine if a conflict exists between the ordered item and the user's profile, devices, accounts, preferences. If a conflict is determined to exist, the system may notify the user and adjust the order to generate a new order for a different item that is compatible for the user so as to mitigate a return. An order may then be transmitted to a virtual assistant for approval, which may reject the order or approve the order for completion.

Abstract: In selected embodiments a recommendation generator builds a network of interrelationships between venues, reviewers and users based on attributes and reviewer and user reviews of the venues. Each interrelationship or link may be positive or negative and may accumulate with other links (or anti-links) to provide nodal links the strength of which are based on commonality of attributes among the linked nodes and/or common preferences that one node, such as a reviewer, expresses for other nodes, such as venues. The links may be first order (based on a direct relationship between, for instance, a reviewer and a venue) or higher order (based on, for instance, the fact that two venue are both liked by a given reviewer). The recommendation engine in certain embodiments determines recommended venues based on user attributes and venue preferences by aggregating the link matrices and determining the venues which are most strongly coupled to the user.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a set of normalized attribute values that define a particular item being offered and a corresponding threshold score for each of the normalized attribute values. The method further includes, for each attribute value of a candidate item listing, determining a score for the attribute value based on whether it matches a corresponding normalized attribute value, and determining whether the score is above or below the corresponding threshold score for the normalized attribute value. The method still further includes determining whether the candidate item listing describes the particular item being offered based on a set of rules that define an acceptable number of scores that are allowed to be below the threshold scores.

Abstract: Method, computer program product, and system to provide assistance to at least a first person during a transaction within an environment having a plurality of items. The method includes identifying the first person within the environment, and analyzing acquired image information to determine at least one item interaction of the transaction and thereby associate the identified first person with the transaction. The method further includes determining whether the first person is associated with a personal profile that includes information related to the environment, the information including at least one of personal preferences and personal historical data reflecting one or more previous transactions of the first person. When the first person is determined to be associated with a personal profile, the method further includes determining, based on the information in the personal profile, an amount of assistance to provide to the first person during the transaction.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for locally searching a search string in network content. A user accesses network content through a client device and enters a search string through the client device. Once the local search is performed on the network content by a client application or a search application through a network, the result would be encoded and displayed for the user to view. Furthermore, the content may be modified based at least in part on stored search data corresponding to prior searches.

A method includes transmitting, via the communication session, a first packet comprising first data indicative of a geographic location of the client computing device, receiving a second packet comprising second data indicative of a locations of geographically-positioned entities, rendering, via a display device, a GUI comprising a map of a geographical area inclusive of the geographic location of the client computing device, transforming the first data into a first coordinate representative of the geographic location of the client computing device on the map, transforming the second data into other coordinates representative of the geographic locations of the geographically-positioned entities on the map, presenting, via the GUI, a first icon at the first coordinate on the map, and presenting, via the GUI, additional icons at the other coordinates on the map.

Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure include a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for providing a recommendation based on a level of buying intent of an individual. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include monitoring an amount of time an individual wears a particular item while in a fitting room of a retail store, and determining an interest level of the individual in purchasing the item based on the amount of time the individual wears the item. The method may further include generating and providing a recommendation for an additional based on the determined level of intent.

Abstract: Custom creation of wall decor using a device configured to display an interactive wall art environment. The interactive wall art environment incorporates a user photo of a furnished room, including a background wall and a scaled image of the furniture in the room, and a curated layout of items displayed in proportion to the scaled image of the furniture to simulate the appearance of the wall art in the furnished room. The user can alter the wall art environment as desired, including selecting a custom wall color and a predefined image of furniture to simulate a furnished room instead of using the photo of the furnished room. The display of the interactive wall art environment includes displaying the cost of purchasing the customized items in the curated layout and linking to a shopping interface for transacting the purchase.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes extracting a document object model (DOM) for a content page, wherein the DOM comprises a hierarchical tree-based data structure. The method also includes identifying candidate nodes in the DOM based on a context of the nodes, wherein the candidate nodes may correspond to listing items. The method additionally includes for each of the candidate nodes, locating its parent and child nodes by traversing the DOM from the candidate node, extracting information from the candidate node and its parent and child nodes, and assessing whether the candidate node qualifies as a listing item based on whether the extracted information fulfills a required set of characteristics for a listing item.

Abstract: A system and method of intelligently recommending items based on social media communications are provided. A communication with an audio portion in a first format is intercepted from a first service. An intent to transact is then detected within the communication at least in part based on analyzed sound in the audio portion. A recommendation engine can then be used to identify one or search results based on the intent to transact within the communication. Then a reply communication can be posted to the first service in the first format, with the reply communication including the one or more identified items.

Abstract: Items within an item universe or item repository can be associated with subscription options. A subscription visualization user interface can allow a user to visualize subscription costs over a particular time window and within certain display time periods so that better cost transparency can be achieved. Cost transparency and cost containment can be extremely important in an era of increasing subscription sales.

Abstract: A peripheral device, e.g., a headphone, connected to a communication device may have controls that are configured to switch between a regular mode and a purchase mode. When in the purchase mode, the controls of the peripheral device may be configured to facilitate purchase by receiving user input related to making a purchase. The peripheral or the communication device may be configured to receive user instructions, such as a voice command, to switch between the regular mode and the purchase mode. In particular, the controls may include volume buttons configured to adjust volume in the regular mode and configured to adjust purchase price in purchase mode. The controls also may include a start/end button configured to selectively activate or end an application in the regular mode and configured to confirm or select a purchase in the purchase mode.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for identifying a set of images of child variants of a parent item, identifying a set of colors in the set of images, categorizing the set of colors into color subgroups, identifying a set of representative color(s) for the color subgroups, generating a color value distribution representation for an image of a child variant that indicates a respective number of pixels in the child variant image corresponding to each of one or more representative colors, identifying a color cluster in the color value distribution representation, scoring the color cluster, and selecting a particular color from the color cluster for inclusion in a sample image of the child variant if the color cluster score meets or exceeds a threshold value.
