Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for providing a thumb scroll user interface element in a computerized visual environment. A viewing device displays a graphical user interface within a three-dimensional space that includes surface planes each associated with a graphical thumb scroll element. A sensor device captures a location of the user's hand within the three-dimensional space and a gesture of the user's hand. A computing device detects that the location is within a defined zone around one of the graphical thumb scroll elements and activates the thumb scroll element associated with the defined zone. The computing device identifies the gesture, determines a scroll speed based upon a speed of the identified gesture, and determines a scroll direction based upon a direction of the identified gesture. The computing device changes characteristics of graphical content in the surface plane based upon at least one of: the scroll speed or the scroll direction.

Abstract: A widget generator may be configured to provide, to a browser application, a widget that is executable to be rendered in conjunction with a page rendered by the browser application. A protection manager may be configured to provide, to the browser application and in conjunction with the widget, a protection script that is executable within a page context of the page and separate from a widget context of the widget. The protection script, during execution, validates a condition associated with a frame of the page that is used to render the widget, and enables functionality of the widget within the page, based on validation of the condition.

Abstract: Techniques to control arrangement of items in a user interface is described. In one or more implementations, intuitive rearrangement of items in a user interface is caused by a computing device. A priority ordering of items, one to another, is determined that is specified for display of the items in a first layout in a user interface of the computing device. The items are assigned into respective ones of a plurality of groups that together compose one or more linear arrangements of the groups. Arrangement of the items is controlled by the computing device for display in a second layout in the user interface that is different from the first layout by an amount of display area available in the user interface along one or more dimensions.

A changed value of the attribute of the problem element is computed. A determination is made that the changed value satisfies a compliance rule applicable to the user interface. A first record and a second record are selected from a historical data. The first record includes a first value of a metric usable with the user interface, and the second record includes a second value of the metric. A difference between the second value and the first value is associated with the changed value as an expected change in the metric due to the changed value. The changed value and the expected change in the metric are presented as a remedy for the problem.

Input from a cursor control device is received, wherein the input reflects a movement in a computer drawing program of a cursor over a drawing having one or more geometric entities (having one or more geometric attributes). In one or more embodiments, a relevant geometric entity is identified based on how the cursor is moved over the drawing. A presumptive drafting solution is then provided based on the identified relevant geometric entity. In addition, prior drawing solutions (having one or more solution attributes) are obtained and compared to the one or more geometric attributes. A drawing solution having one or more solution attributes similar to the one or more geometric attributes may be provided to the user.

Abstract: A share display in a multimedia collaboration system includes a desktop region and a non-overlapping task bar region. A collaboration program is configured to allow the desktop region to be shared with remote multimedia collaboration devices for the purposes of collaboration, but allows control functionality so that whatever the sharer does not wish to share will reside in the task bar region. The task bar region is then prevented from being shared with the remote multimedia collaboration device.

The method comprises: acquiring a first input; determining, in the locked state, a first instruction of the first instruction set corresponding to the first input, the first instruction being an unlocking instruction; controlling a switching from the locked state to the unlocked state according to the unlocking instruction; determining, in the unlocked state, a second instruction of the second instruction set corresponding to the first input; and responding to the second instruction. Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for transforming instructions for collaborative updates are described herein. A group of instructions for an update of an element depicted in a client device version of a user interface are generated. The group of instructions is executed and the group or a subset of instructions are transmitted to a server. The server accepts or rejects the instructions. The server may execute the instructions to update a server version of the element. The server sends accepted instructions to the other or all client devices.

Abstract: Techniques are described for generating a graphical user interface for presenting a list of objects. The graphical user interface can include a selection zone encompassed by a partial outer ring that is configured to present a portion of the list of objects. Rotational touch gestures detected in the selection zone can cause the list of objects to scroll around the partial outer ring. The scroll rate of the objects can depend on the number of touch inputs detected as part of the touch gesture.
