Abstract: Information device for a vehicle driver comprising at least one electronic central unit linked to a display screen and to geolocating means, and the electronic central unit simultaneously running an operating system and a plurality of applications including at least one geolocated application. At least one first application is adapted to be displayed on the screen while defining a window adapted to present a display controlled by a second application, the first application allowing or not allowing the possibility of having this window displayed and controlling only the size and the position of this window, whereas the second application controls the content of the window.

Abstract: A method of controlling a mobile terminal, and which includes displaying an application screen of an executing application and a corresponding keypad on a display of the mobile terminal; modifying, via a controller of the mobile terminal, the keypad into a new keypad arrangement; displaying, via the controller, a display window in a vacant space created by the modification of the keypad, wherein a function of the display window is automatically selected based on a type of the executing application; and inputting text on the displayed application screen through the display window and modified keypad.

Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for providing a user with the ability to select how new or on-going e-mail messages are displayed to the user, as well as how the e-mail messages are displayed to other users participating in the e-mail conversation. The methods and systems provide a modification of the behavior of a user interface widget for composing an e-mail message (both starting a new conversation and responding to an existing conversation), and also a modification of the way in which an inbox of an online mail application notifies a user of a newly arrived/received message. An e-mail conversation can be made to behave like a chat conversation, but with each participant in a multi-participant conversation having the ability to select whether to see (e.g., view) the conversation in e-mail format or chat format, and also having the ability to change this selection while the conversation is ongoing.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for a user interface that provides active assistance to discover, investigate, refine and save multiple topics of interest, i.e., a topic incubator where user interests are discovered, quickly developed to maturity and preserved. Each topic may have an independent topic interface with independently suggested topics. In each topic interface, users may control topic development by selecting saved topics, dynamically suggested topics and manually entered topics. Suggested topics may be based on saved interests, related interests and/or browsed content. Suggested topics may differ between topic interfaces and may change with topics. Suggested topics may be continuously refined or updated based on existing topics, changed topics, selected suggested topics and selected content. Users control treatment of selected topics individually or as refinements of (combinations with) other topics to create compound topics.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for hosting collaboration between multiple clients. The system includes a network interface able to communicate with clients, and a control unit. The control unit is able to receive a screen capture that represents visual content at a display of a client, to identify multiple clients for receiving the screen capture, and to transmit the screen capture to the multiple clients for presentation at displays of the multiple clients. The control unit is further able to receive instructions in parallel from the multiple clients representing marks made upon the screen capture, and to transmit the instructions in parallel to the multiple clients to apply the marks onto the screen capture as presented at the displays of the multiple clients.

Abstract: A method of activating an update of a home screen of a mobile communications device is provided. The home screen is displayed on a display panel of the mobile communications device. The home screen includes a plurality of tiles displaying a plurality of feeds from one or more feed sources. The method includes performing one of updating the home screen or activating and displaying a menu bar on the display panel based on a distance of a downward scrolling on a top page of a home screen. A non-transitory computer-readable medium and a mobile communications device for activating an update of a home screen of a mobile communications device are also provided.

Abstract: In one example, a method includes outputting for display a first graphical user interface (GUI) of an application executing at the portable computer terminal, wherein the first GUI displays information received from the mobile computing device at a first degree of specificity. The method also includes, in response to receiving input to display a second GUI of the application: outputting, for display at a presence-sensitive display device of the portable computer terminal, the second GUI and removing the first GUI from display. The second GUI may be different from the first GUI, and the second GUI may display information received from the mobile computing device at a second degree of specificity that is different than the first degree of specificity.

Abstract: A user interface for a virtual machine infrastructure enables a user to navigate a graph in a tabular format. The user interface simultaneously displays data associated with a selected node from a plurality of applications via view extensions provided by the applications. The user interface shows data associated with a node on which a navigation panel is focused, an anchor node, together with related nodes and edge categories including the edges connecting the related nodes to the anchor node. The user can peek at the data associated with a related node by selecting the node in the user interface and change the displayed data without changing the focus of the navigation panel. The user can also change the focus of the navigation panel to a related node via data displayed in a data panel or related nodes identified in the navigation panel.

Abstract: A mobility device profile generation system for producing a control profile for operating a mobility device. A system processor displays profile data stored in memory on a display device in the form of a graphical representation depicting a relationship between at least two variables associated with operating the mobility device. Using a human input device a user may interactively adjust the graphical representation to calibrate the relationship between the at least two variables to produce a control profile that limits the range of operation of a controller of a mobility device according to the graphical representation. This control profile may be loaded into a controller of a mobility device to limit operation according to the profile.

Abstract: A portal server comprises memory, a profile manager, a profile selector, and a profile initiator. The profile manager is configured to manage a plurality of profile records in a profile database. The profile selector is configured to select at least one of the plurality of profile records based on context data collected at a client and context data collected at the portal server. The collected context data corresponds to particular user interaction activity with the portal server. The profile initiator is configured to adapt a user interface based on the profile selected by the profile selector.

Abstract: A monitoring component installed in a network navigation interface, such as an Internet browser, is disclosed. The monitoring component monitors activity of a user performed via the network navigation interface among one or more network resources, such as e-commerce sites, blogs, media hosting sites, and social networking sites. The monitoring component further enables the user to selected at least one monitored activity to be shared with contacts known to the user. An activity service is provided that notifies the contacts of the selected activity and generates recommendations for the user based on the activities reported by the monitoring component. In this manner, users may share activities of interest with their contacts, as well obtain recommendations about items of possible interest.

Abstract: An embodiment of the disclosure displays a plurality of icons for files and a plurality of icons for folders within a graphical user interface. A set of two or more icons can be selected via user input for inclusion within a group object. The group object can be moved within the graphical user interface responsive to user input to within a predetermined range of one of the icons for one of the folders. Responsive to moving, a subset of files of the group object can be determined. Selection of the files within the subset can be based on whether attributes of the folder match attributes of the files. Additionally, responsive to moving the group object, the subset of files can be moved or copied to the one of the folders to which the group object was moved.

Abstract: A primary application and a secondary application installed on a mobile communication device are both configured to obtain input from a user of the device through an application session of the primary application. The primary application transmits a notification to cause the secondary application to begin execution in the background. The primary application further transmits a request for user interface (UI) information to the secondary application. Based on UI information received from the secondary application, the primary application generates a graphical user interface (GUI) including an interface for receiving user input relating to the secondary application. The generated GUI is displayed on the device in the application session of the primary application, and user input relating to the secondary application is received in the application session of the primary application. The primary application then transmits to the secondary application user input identified as relating to the secondary application.

Abstract: A method for controlling display of graphical information in a display window is presented. A scroll region, i.e. a scroll bar, is provided with a “memory” that indicates to the user where to return after scrolling away from a current position within, e.g., a large document. This is advantageous in that it relieves the user from having to be very attentive to the scrolling content of the window, which means that the scrolling can be performed more quickly when compared to prior art solutions.

Abstract: Systems and methods to provide assistance for completion during user input. In one embodiment, a method includes automatically generating profiles for persons identified in messages, such as incoming and outgoing emails. When a user is typing an input, the profiles are used to identify suggestions for the completion of the user input.

Abstract: A workflow, enterprise, and mail-enabled application server and platform supports distributed computing and remote execution of web applications. Lotus Domino online services (DOLS) is used by a web site administrator to configure Internet Notes (iNotes) clients to auto download from server, thus providing iNotes clients with web access using HTTP with various browsers, and with local processing and replication. A local run time model comprises a hierarchy of models including object data store model, security model, indexing model, replication model, agent workflow model and mail model. DOLS provides a layered security model that allows flexibility for controlling access to all or part of an application. The highest level of security is managed through a database access control list (ACL). Further refinements within the security model provide access to specific documents, and their views, forms or folders, and include read access lists, write access lists, form access lists and readers and authors fields.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products to provide responses to emergent group activities in an interactive environment, by monitoring actions of one or more avatars in the interactive environment, the one or more avatars being controlled by a respective user, detecting a first action matching a first action property in a first group activity template for a first group activity, of a plurality of group activity templates, determining that the first group activity is occurring in the interactive environment, and issuing to one or more components of the interactive environment, an indication to perform a respective predefined operation.

Abstract: Switching real-time data stream connections between network nodes sharing a virtual area is described. In one aspect, the switching involves storing a virtual area specification. The virtual area specification includes a description of one or more switching rules each defining a respective connection between sources of a respective real-time data stream type and sinks of the real-time data stream type in terms of positions in the virtual area. Real-time data stream connections are established between network nodes associated with respective objects each of which is associated with at least one of a source and a sink of one or more of the real-time data stream types. The real-time data stream connections are established based on the one or more switching rules, the respective sources and sinks associated with the objects, and respective positions of the objects in the virtual area.
