Abstract: A multi-cloud user interface apparatus facilitates transparent use of multiple Internet-based clouds. A network interface compatibly interacts with the multiple Internet-based clouds, a database management system of information, and a user interface that includes a non-human agent. The database management system pertains to a world model that represents a plurality of entities such as workgroups, products, humans, animals, plants, positions, and assets. The database itself can be configured such that the items of information are partially but not wholly stored on individual ones of each of the multiple Internet-based clouds. The non-human agent can be configured to receive input from a human user and to respond to the input by accessing the database. The nature of the response can be automatically derived as a function of an information relevance measurement that is itself calculated as a function, at least in part, of an entity relationship-based metric.

Abstract: A method includes capturing a digital content segment, generating a first identifier, and associating the first identifier with a digital image in the memory of an electronic device. The method also includes generating a second identifier and associating the second identifier with a digital content segment in the memory. The method further includes transferring at least one of the digital image and the digital content segment to a server computer via a network, wherein the first identifier is transferred in association with the digital image and the second identifier is transferred in association with the digital content segment. The method also includes generating an electronic file providing a sequential clip listing associated with rendering a digital media message. The electronic file includes the first and second identifiers, a first indicator identifying a first frame of the digital media message, and a second indicator identifying a second frame of the digital media message.

Abstract: A method of generating a digital media message includes receiving a script of the digital media message, receiving a digital video segment based on the script, determining text of the digital media message corresponding to at least a portion of the video segment, and providing the text via a display of an electronic device. The method also includes providing a plurality of images, each indicative of a respective digital content segment, and receiving first input indicating selection of a first digital content segment. The method further includes associating the first digital content segment with either a first portion or a second portion of the video segment, and associating the various portions and the first digital content segment with a play sequence of the digital media message such that the first digital content segment will be presented simultaneously with at least part of the first portion when the digital media message is played.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to automatic layout organization where various visualizations within a canvas layout can be dynamically rearranged or modified in dimension upon a user specified modification to maximize usability. Some embodiments display a graphical user interface (GUI) including multiple components in a display area, where each component has one or more initial dimensions. In response to an event, embodiments can determine an edge corresponding to the event. Some embodiments determine a box based on the edge, the box enclosing a portion of the display area that is less than the entire display area. Certain embodiments determine a set of components corresponding to the box, the set of components being fewer than all of the components. Embodiments may redraw the GUI such that the set of components is redrawn, where a dimension of each component of the set of components is different from an initial dimension of the component.

Abstract: A method of generating a digital media message includes receiving a first digital content segment via an electronic device, associating the first digital content segment with a first position in a play sequence, receiving a second digital content segment different from the first digital content segment, and receiving a third digital content segment different from the first and second digital content segments. The method also includes adding the second and third digital content segments to the play sequence such that the second digital content segment is presented simultaneously with at least one of the first and third digital content segments when the digital media message is played. Such a method further includes providing the digital media message for sharing with a remote electronic device.

Abstract: A technique is described herein for helping a user move a source object that appears on a user interface presentation to a target destination. The technique involves performing semantic analysis on both the source object and at least one candidate target destination. The semantic analysis yields a score that reflects the relationship between the source object and the candidate target destination. The technique then presents a representation of the candidate target destination that is visually enhanced to an extent that is dependent on its output score. The technique then allows the user to move the source object to a representation of a selected target destination, whereupon it becomes associated with the target destination. The technique can produce the enhanced representation by changing a characteristic of an on-screen target identifier (that already exists on the user interface presentation), or by displaying a transient target identifier.

Abstract: Methods and systems of managing settings are described. According to various embodiments, a settings page corresponding to a user's settings on an online service may be caused to be displayed on a device. The settings page may comprise selectable category setting options for a setting category. The setting category may have a plurality of subcategories, and each subcategory may have its own selectable subcategory setting options. Each one of the category setting options may correspond to its own distinct configuration of subcategory setting options for its subcategories. A user input indicating a selection of one of the category setting options for the setting category may be received. The configuration of subcategory setting options corresponding to the selected one of the category setting options for the setting category may be applied to the user's settings on the online service.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for performing actions based on a determined intent within messages received by a mobile device. In some embodiments, the systems and methods may access a message received by a mobile application (e.g., text messaging application, chat application, and so on) of the mobile device, analyze the message to determine an intent of the message (e.g., whether the message includes a request or a task for a recipient of the message), and perform an action based on the determined intent (e.g., set a reminder when the message includes a task for the recipient). Further details are described herein.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to techniques of configuring a layout of graphical objects for display. In one example process, the device detects a scroll request and determines whether the scroll request meets predetermined criteria. If the scroll request meets the criteria, the device configures the layout of graphical objects that are to be displayed once the display is scrolled so that the graphical objects are arranged on the display differently than the arrangement in which the graphical objects would have been displayed, had the layout not been configured. If the scroll request does not meet the criteria, the device forgoes the configuration of the layout of graphical objects.

Abstract: In some embodiments, an electronic device receives an input corresponding to a request for information about a user-specified topic. In response, the electronic device displays information about media that is relevant to the user-specified topic, including concurrently displaying: a representation of respective media that is available for viewing on a first set of applications, the electronic device having a second set of applications downloaded on it, and a respective selectable user interface element associated with the respective media. Abstract: A multi-layer display system may include a plurality of display panels/screens arranged in an overlapping manner, a backlight configured to provide light to the plurality of display screens, and a processing system. The processing system may be configured to: display content (e.g., button or text) on a first display screen of the plurality of display screens, detect an input (e.g., touch) proximate the content, and responsive to the input move the content so that it is displayed at least on a different display screen/panel such as a further rearward screen/panel and/or a further forward screen/panel. This may, for instance, simulate the pressing of a button or the like in the case of moving content so that is becomes displayed on a further rearward screen/panel.

Abstract: A control device is provided which mixes and records two types of audio signals processed under standards different from each other; in particular, an audio signal of ASIO standard and an audio signal of WDM standard. An audio interface is connected to a computer, and an audio signal is input to the computer. A mixer module of the computer mixes an audio signal which is effect-processed by an ASIO application and an audio signal reproduced by a WDM application, and outputs the mixed audio signal to the audio interface and to the WDM application for sound recording. The user operates a screen displayed on an operation panel to switch between presence and absence of effect process and presence and absence of mixing.

Abstract: As a user's needs change over time, the widgets displayed in a widget display area are altered by the user to better suit the desires of the user. Further, the widgets selected for display can be configured as desired by the user to display information in different ways. In order to reduce clutter within the widget display area itself, electronic devices can include a user interface that facilitates ease of accessing, adding, removing, and configuring the widget display area and the widgets therein as desired by the user.

Abstract: Various aspects and embodiments are directed to a graphical user interface that organizes interface elements into views of computer content for presentation to a user. Different views of are used to provide an interface that is responsive to configurations of the device and activities performed by the user. Aspects include permitting the user to transition the device from one configuration to another during its use. The elements that comprise the graphical user interface are configured to present a summarized view of available actions and content to simplify user interaction. The different views present different organizations of the interface elements and in some examples display only certain modes of content in order to reduce the number of options a user must navigate. Methods and systems for streamlining user interaction with computer content are also provided. Streamlining includes, for example, pre-configuring a user device based on received information.
