Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure enable synchronized content items, such as an ebook and corresponding audiobook, to be navigated via a rotational interface (e.g., a “jog wheel”). Specifically, a playback device is disclosed that enables a rotational interface to be used to select locations within an audiobook or other audio content. During selection of a location, the playback device can maintain an output indicator indicating one or more words within a textual content that match the selected location within the audio content. Thus, a user is enabled to easily and intuitively select precise locations within audio content. In some embodiments, an acceleration or speed of input to the rotational interface may modify how quickly locations within the content item are traversed.

Abstract: A method and system for selectively displaying calendar information on a secure calendar application in an environment designed to restrict secure applications from processing requests from non-secure applications are described herein. In particular, calendar information can be selectively accessed from a non-secure calendar application in accordance with a sync setting that is enforceable against the calendar information. The calendar information from the non-secure calendar application can be imported into a secure calendar application. In addition, the imported calendar information can be displayed as part of the user interface of the secure calendar application when the secure calendar application is activated.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for presenting media content. A user device (such as a personal computer, tablet, or smart phone) receives media elements from a media repository. The media repository may be remote. The device displays references associated with the media elements in a display area. The device outputs media content (e.g., music or video) associated with each of the media elements for a limited duration (e.g., 30 seconds). While outputting, the references displayed in the display area are scrolled. The display area may be provided as a 3D drum.

Abstract: An intelligent terminal may comprise at least one processor-readable non-transitory storage medium and at least one processor in communication with the at least one storage medium. The at least one storage medium may comprise at least one set of instructions for automatically pasting a URL from a clipboard to an address bar of a web browser. The at least one processor may be configured to execute the at least one set of instructions to obtain a URL copied by a user from a clipboard; determine an intention of the user associated with whether to paste the candidate string in a designated location of an interface displayed on the intelligent terminal; and automatically display the candidate string in the designated location of the interface when the intention of the user is determined to paste the candidate string in the designated location of the interface.

Abstract: A system having a processor is provided that visually manipulates objects on a touch screen responsive to inputs through the touch screen. Based at least in part on data representative of type and size for a plurality of prior objects displayed through a display device, the processor may determine that at least one input through the input device corresponds to a further object having a determined type corresponding to at least one of the prior objects and having a size within predetermined tolerances of corresponding to the at least one of the prior objects. Also the processor may cause responsive thereto the display device to display a replacement object in place of the further object having a size and shape corresponding to the at least one prior object.

The device then displays a plurality of action option UI elements, the selection of each action option UI element causing the application to perform a different action.

Abstract: A system and method for content spread visualization includes obtaining activity data related to a content item of the social network, the activity data related to interactions by members of the social network with the content item. A processor generates the visualization based on the activity data, the visualization including indicia arranged in hierarchical branches, the branches extending radially from a primary indicia of the indicia, each of the indicia individually corresponding to one of the activity data and connected to at least one other one of the indicia with a couple based on a relationship between the corresponding ones of the activity data. The processor causes a user interface to display the visualization.

Abstract: Various aspects and embodiments are directed to a graphical user interface that organizes interface elements into views of computer content for presentation to a user. Different views of are used to provide an interface that is responsive to configurations of the device and activities performed by the user. Aspects include permitting the user to transition the device from one configuration to another during its use. The elements that comprise the graphical user interface are configured to present a summarized view of available actions and content to simplify user interaction. The different views present different organizations of the interface elements and in some examples display only certain modes of content in order to reduce the number of options a user must navigate. Methods and systems for streamlining user interaction with computer content are also provided. Streamlining includes, for example, pre-configuring a user device based on received information.

In one example process, the device detects a scroll request and determines whether the scroll request meets predetermined criteria. If the scroll request meets the criteria, the device configures the layout of graphical objects that are to be displayed once the display is scrolled so that the graphical objects are arranged on the display differently than the arrangement in which the graphical objects would have been displayed, had the layout not been configured. If the scroll request does not meet the criteria, the device forgoes the configuration of the layout of graphical objects.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing deep linking capability from any mobile app to any other mobile app in a way that is scalable. App configuration information (including deep link information) is programmatically accumulated and provided to mobile devices in a way that enables launching or linking to mobile apps to meet expressed information needs of users. In addition, online marketplaces are described that employ such techniques to enable a wide variety of transaction types.

Abstract: A client device identifies a current context of an application and sends that context to a command component on a server. The client device receives a set of commands that are valid for that context and displays the commands on the client device. When a user input is received changing the context, a new command set can be locally computed based on the set of commands received from the server, or the new context can be sent to the server to receive the new command set.

Abstract: Smart Phones that support wireless printing of e-mails to a printer in a wireless local area network (WLAN) is disclosed and enabled. The new Smart Phone includes a touch sensitive screen, an operating system, an e-mail application, and a wireless communication unit supporting a protocol within IEEE 802.11 for WLAN communication. To print an email in an inbox of the email application, the smart phone provides a print item on the touch sensitive screen and also a list of one or more printers detected to be available in the WLAN on the touch sensitive screen, subsequent to the user having selected the print item and a selected printer from the list, a print job related to the email is transmitted to the selected printer over the WLAN. Additionally, the smart phone further supports voice activated commands, such as printing or replying to emails received at the Smart Phone.
