  • Patent number: 10120560
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods for assisting a user in the operation of a touch-sensitive operator control unit, where a presence of input means, such as a user's finger, is detected in a predefined first area in front of the operator control unit, and, in response to it, acknowledging of the detected presence by a predefined first audio output. The first area may be bounded in a direction parallel to a surface of the operator control unit corresponding to a button displayed on the operator control unit. The crossover of the input means from the first area into a predefined second area in front of the operator's control unit may also be detected and acknowledged by a predefined second audio output. Also, a predefined pattern of movement of the input means in the first area may be detected and acknowledged via audio or visual indicia.

  • Patent number: 10042920
Abstract: A method for accessing information. Sections in a sunburst chart are displayed, by a computer system, in a graphical user interface in a display system. The sections represent the information and are displayed hierarchically in concentric circles. A section within an angle defined by an inner section relative to the section is associated with the inner section. A text search control is displayed, by the computer system, in the graphical user interface. The text search control receives text through user input. A selection of a plurality of sections displayed in the graphical user interface is identified, by the computer system, from the user input to the text search control. The plurality of sections in a different one of the concentric circles is emphasized, by the computer system, in the graphical user interface. The plurality of sections is associated with each other and enables increased efficiency in viewing the information.

  • Patent number: 10037122
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to automatic layout organization where various visualizations within a canvas layout can be dynamically rearranged or modified in dimension upon a user specified modification to maximize usability. Some embodiments display a graphical user interface (GUI) including multiple components in a display area, where each component has one or more initial dimensions. In response to an event, embodiments can determine an edge corresponding to the event. Some embodiments determine a box based on the edge, the box enclosing a portion of the display area that is less than the entire display area. Certain embodiments determine a set of components corresponding to the box, the set of components being fewer than all of the components. Embodiments may redraw the GUI such that the set of components is redrawn, where a dimension of each component of the set of components is different from an initial dimension of the component.
