  • Patent number: 10554207
Abstract: Non-destructive read out (NDRO) circuits are provided for use in reciprocal quantum logic (RQL) superconducting systems. Each NDRO circuit includes a “body” circuit that provides a single or multi-state sub-critical bias current to one or many independent “tail” circuitries. Each “tail” has minimal effect on the “body” thereby preventing any interference or destruction to the state of the “body” circuitry. The circuits reduce device count and thereby increase circuit density, simplify and reduce the cost of fabrication, and provide functionality not available in existing designs, such as the ability to write a state and read it in the same operation cycle. The NDRO circuits provide more compact unit cells useful in memory or logic arrays, demanding fewer resources with increased functionality. The circuits also provide compact cells for AND, AND-OR, A-NOT-B, inverter, multiplexer, and demultiplexer gates.

  • Patent number: 10542598
Abstract: A lighting system comprises one or more luminaires for illuminating an environment, each luminaire comprising at least one lamp controllable to emit configurable illumination. A set of configuration data (20?) is retrieved from a memory, the set of configuration data for a group of one or more of the lamps in the lighting system, the set of configuration data defining an initial lighting scene for rendering by the group of lamps. It is detected when at least one of the lamps in the lighting system is emitting illumination that would disrupt the initial lighting scene and at least one characteristic of the disruptive illumination is determined. The set of configuration data is modified based on the determined characteristic to account for the disruptive illumination. One or more lamps of the group are controlled, via the control interface, to render a modified lighting scene defined by the modified set.

  • Patent number: 10498341
Abstract: Sparse representation of information performs powerful feature extraction on high-dimensional data and is of interest for applications in signal processing, machine vision, object recognition, and neurobiology. Sparse coding is a mechanism by which biological neural systems can efficiently process complex sensory data while consuming very little power. Sparse coding algorithms in a bio-inspired approach can be implemented in a crossbar array of memristors (resistive memory devices). This network enables efficient implementation of pattern matching and lateral neuron inhibition, allowing input data to be sparsely encoded using neuron activities and stored dictionary elements. The reconstructed input can be obtained by performing a backward pass through the same crossbar matrix using the neuron activity vector as input. Different dictionary sets can be trained and stored in the same system, depending on the nature of the input signals.
