  • Patent number: 11340684
Abstract: An information handling system includes an embedded controller to capture a current battery power level of a battery that is a sole source of power of the information handling system. A service module may update a configuration table with anticipated power consumption associated with a component of the information handling system, wherein the anticipated power consumption is based on an operation, and predict whether the current battery power level is sufficient to complete the operation, including comparing the current battery power level with the anticipated power consumption of the component. If the current battery power level is sufficient to complete the operation, then the service module may execute the operation. If the current battery power level is insufficient to complete the operation, then the service module may provide one or more options associated with the operation based on a power management policy.

  • Patent number: 11334367
Abstract: A boot option system includes a pre-boot execution environment system coupled to a server device through a network. The server device creates a device placeholder boot option including a device path terminating at a storage controller in the server device. During a first boot and based on first boot instructions received from the pre-boot execution environment system, the server device moves the device placeholder boot option to a desired location within a boot sequence for the server device. During a second boot and based on second boot instructions received from the pre-boot execution environment system, the server device provides an operating system on the server device. The server device then replaces, at the desired location within the boot sequence, the device placeholder boot option with an operating system boot option that was provided on the server device in response to the provisioning of the operating system on the server device.

  • Patent number: 11330521
Abstract: The application discloses an intelligent device wake-up method, an intelligent device and a computer-readable storage medium. A specific implementation is: obtaining wake-up voice sent by a user; when determining that a current wake-up mode is a group wake-up mode, recognizing volume information corresponding to obtained wake-up voice, and determining wake-up delay time according to the volume information; when determining that the wake-up delay time is different from wake-up delay time corresponding to other intelligent device in the group, and no response information sent by other intelligent device in the group is obtained within the wake-up delay time, performing a wake-up process and playing response information when the wake-up delay time is over. Thus, it can ensure that only one intelligent device responds to the wake-up voice sent out by the user at any time, thereby avoiding the situation that multiple intelligent devices respond at the same time.

  • Patent number: 11320882
Abstract: A Remote PHY (R-PHY) node having a specialized Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). A R-PHY node comprises a coaxial cable input, one or more Remote PHY (R-PHY) devices, a node power supply designed to supply an entirety of the R-PHY node with power continuously while there is Quasi Square Wave (QSW) AC power supplied to the R-PHY node over the coaxial cable input, and an UPS for supplying power to either the entirety of the R-PHY node or a set of the one or more R-PHY devices when the R-PHY node is not supplied QSW power over the coaxial cable input. The internal UPS adjusts how power is supplied in response to determining that a configurable amount of time has passed since the interruption in QSW power to the R-PHY node.

  • Patent number: 11281473
Abstract: Apparatuses comprising processing circuitry, a first wakeup interrupt controller connected to the processing circuitry via a first interface, and a second wakeup interrupt controller connected to the processing circuitry via a second interface, and methods of operating such apparatuses, are disclosed. Prior to the processing circuitry entering a low power state, information defining at least one wakeup event is transferred from the processing circuitry to a selected wakeup interrupt controller. Whilst the processing circuitry is in the low power state, the selected wakeup interrupt controller receives event indications. If one of these event indications is a defined wakeup event, then the processing circuitry is caused to exit the low power state.

  • Patent number: 11204766
Abstract: Embodiments include a method comprising identifying, by an instruction scheduler of a processor core, a first high power instruction in an instruction stream to be executed by an execution unit of the processor core. A pre-charge signal is asserted indicating that the first high power instruction is scheduled for execution. Subsequent to the pre-charge signal being asserted, a voltage boost signal is asserted to cause a supply voltage for the execution unit to be increased. A busy signal indicating that the first high power instruction is executing is received from the execution unit. Based at least in part on the busy signal being asserted, de-asserting the voltage boost signal. More specific embodiments include decreasing the supply voltage for the execution unit subsequent to the de-asserting the voltage boost signal. More Further embodiments include delaying asserting the voltage boost signal based on a start delay time.

  • Patent number: 11182303
Abstract: Examples construct a bootloader address space using a page fault exception. A bootloader executing in machine address (MA) space determines the MA at which the bootloader has been loaded into memory. The bootloader calculates a difference between an expected virtual address (VA) and the loaded MA. The bootloader defines a page table mapping the bootloader MA to an expected VA, and sets an exception handling vector to point to the expected VA. When a memory management unit (MMU) utilizing the defined page table for address translation is enabled, a page fault exception occurs. The page fault exception handling resumes execution of the bootloader at the expected VA via an exception handling vector pointing thereto.
