  • Patent number: 4069769
Abstract: A coffee table having an upper surface comprised of a main portion which is part of the coffee table structure and the side skirts of a pair of auxiliary foldable tables which are stored, in their folded configuration, in slots in the main table. The dimensions and external fold configuration of the foldable tables are such that, when they are stored in the slotted openings, they combine with the surface of the coffee table to form a continuous top planar surface. The interiors of the two slotted openings are finished, and the coffee table has sufficient top surface to still be usable as a table when both foldable tables are removed. Also, the coffee table has a finished bottom surface, and so it can be inverted when the foldable tables are removed to present an unbroken top surface.

  • Patent number: 4069771
Abstract: An oval table is provided with double-lying extensions for folding out to increase the oval shape. These extensions are adapted to be mounted under the main table out of view and to this end, the main table has a downwardly facing edge for concealing the retracted extension leaves. At each end of the oval table is a large double-lying extension leaf whose sliding bars form an angle with the major axis of the oval; at the sides of the oval there are comparatively small double-lying extension leaves whose extension bars are parallel to the minor axis of the oval.

  • Patent number: 4063775
Abstract: By providing a unitary, molded cycle seat support unit which incorporates a seat member, a forwardly extending nose portion, a support frame interconnecting said seat member with said nose portion, along with a plurality of support ribs extending between and interconnecting the support frame with the seat member, a unique, unitary, cycle seat support unit is achieved capable of flexible movement in the seat member area in response to the demands of the rider. Preferably, the plurality of support ribs employed have varying thickness along their lengths, and are mounted between the support frame and the seat member in a cantilevered arrangement. Also, in the preferred embodiment the seat member is bifurcated with respect to the support frame, forming two independently supported seat portions. In this way, both flexibility and support are achieved in varying amounts depending upon the demands of the area.

  • Patent number: 4054316
Abstract: An alignment structure for end-to-end positioned multichanneled seats and footboards such as may be used for seating stadium stands. Channel shaped inserts positioned in adjacent front and rear channels of two end-to-end seat sections (or footboards) span the joint between the seat sections and extend endwise into each to maintain end-to-end alignment between the seat sections. Each channel shaped insert is anchored in one or the other of the end-to-end seat sections and permits expansion and contraction displacement movement between the seat sections.

  • Patent number: 4051788
Abstract: A folding table is comprised of a table top and frame of side rails, and includes at each corner formed by the side rails, a further rail attached to the underside of the top forming a channel with one of the side rails. A leg is pivotally attached at each corner on an axis perpendicular to the opposing walls of the channel formed. A locking means is carried within a recess of the further rail which, when a leg is unfolded to its extended position, will be effective under spring loading, to provide a bearing against the leg for locking it into extended position. Pressure on the locking means to force it into the recess, releases the leg for folding. When the legs are in the folded or unfolded position, the locking mechanism is completely hidden.

  • Patent number: 4046418
Abstract: A wheelchair is disclosed which is convertible into a wheeled stretcher, wherein the chair seat will assume a comfortable angle with respect to the horizontal when the chair is in the seating position and will assume a horizontal position coplanar with the back of the chair when the chair is in the stretcher position. The chair seat and back may be locked into any relative position between a fully erect seated position and a fully reclined stretcher position. Leg support members which are connected to the chair may assume any angular position with respect to the horizontal without regard for the relative positions of the seat and back of the chair. The leg support members may have their lengths independently adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4040364
Abstract: A rotatable tray fits in the circular, central depression of a tabletop. The periphery of the tray includes four semicircular cutout sections which respectively align with four semicircular cutout sections on the edge of the depression to form locking apertures. Four candleholders are adapted to be received in the locking apertures thus formed. When the table is used for formal occasions, the candleholders are placed in the locking apertures, giving the table a formal appearance. For informal occasions, the locking candleholders are removed and the tray is rendered rotatable. The candelholders have a cylindrical lower locking section and an upper cylindrical sidewall section adapted to transmit the light of the candle therethrough. The table also includes a base support including four upright legs attached at one end to the tabletop and at the other end to an X-shaped foot section.
