Abstract: A saddle for a bicycle and the like elastically mounted on the bicycle so as to provide a suitable cushioning effect thereon. This saddle has at the back side thereof a twisted wire consisting of a plural number of wires wound around each other, each wire being preferably as resilient as possible, said twisted wire fixing said saddle to the seatpost of the vehicle so as to provide a suitable cushioning effect and comfortable sitting thereon.

Abstract: A sectional, knocked down, console table of molded plastic parts, and adapted for attachment to a wall to hang thereon. The table consists of a one-piece top or shelf with a separate apron or skirt depending downwardly from the forwardly presented edge. The skirt comprises a center section and a pair of separate laterally spaced side sections which interlock with the center section and serve as lateral support brackets for the composite assembled structure. The various structural components are secured to one another mechanically by means including channel slots with cooperating friction flanges or ribs; combination post, tab, and screw assemblies; and keying interlocks; whereby the table may be shipped knocked down as a substantially flat, space-saving package, and may then be quickly, easily, and permanently assembled in seconds, using two simple screws.

Abstract: A stepped desk cabinet for use by women and children. The cabinet is formed of two stepped sides which support a horizontal flat desk top and a horizontal seat located below and to the side of the desk top. The desk top comprises a double panel, with the top leaf hinged to the bottom leaf which is fixed in place so that the top leaf may be folded about to a horizontal position, flush with the bottom leaf and extending over the seat. A removable panel is mounted inside the unit as a continuation of the seat, to serve as the top of a storage cabinet bounded by the removable panel and seat, the two sides, and a back panel covering the lower half of the back of the cabinet.

Abstract: This invention provides an adjustable shelf device in which shelves are provided with notches defined by intersecting edges at their corners, and with elements extending across the notches to cooperate with the edges in defining openings. Extending through each of the openings is a support post being in the form of a structural angle, with its outer surfaces engaging the edges of the notch. A releasable friction member is in the opening for locking the support post and the shelf member together.

Abstract: The invention provides a display table for simultaneously displaying various kinds of ornamental objects, particularly objects which are designed to decorate a table. The display table comprises a circular central panel, an outer panel concentric with and mounted for rotation about the central panel, and a storage space situated under the outer panel.

Abstract: The invention relates to a lock for the hinged lid, panel or bonnet of a motor vehicle. Said lock comprises a locking hook pivoted to a support by means of a pivot pin, and a keeper coacting with said hook, said hook being urged to its open or release position by a torsion spring interposed between said hook and said support, and means for locking said hook in its closing or locking position in relation to said keeper, said locking means comprising on the one hand said spring reacting against said support by means of an arm having a certain freedom of movement as far as the distance between said arm and the hook axis is concerned, and on the other hand manual control means coacting with said spring arm for varying said distance between said arm and said hook axis, whereby said spring arm will coact according to its distance from said axis with either a stop member for locking said hook in its locking or closing position, or another stop member for retaining said hook in its opening or release position.

Abstract: A keyhole-less magnetically actuated lock, the key having magnets borne on concentric rings rotatable by a dial, the lock having magnetically responsive switches (for example, reed switches) within the lock actuatable by the key, some of the switches providing a series GO function and some providing a parallel NOGO function. In one form, the GO function powers an electric motor within the lock to withdraw the lock bolts, and in another form the actuator is a thermo electric device. Several NOGO techniques are shown, including a toggled circuit breaker and a bucking coil in the motor. A circuit is shown for inverting the GO and NOGO functions to change the combination of the lock, and one embodiment shows placement of two magnets on one ring in the key to render the key unique. Another embodiment shows use of a covert grid of locator marks to direct correct placement of the key against the lock.

Abstract: A mounting arrangement for a hand-held shower head includes a bracket which is secured to the water supply pipe and a receiver which is pivotally mounted to the bracket so that its position may be adjusted in a plane extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the supply pipe. The receiver is open along one side to permit a hose attachment for the shower head to be inserted into or removed from the receiver. The receiver is adapted to receive the shower head in a plurality of angularly related positions so that the horizontal direction of the spray may be adjusted. Vertical spray direction is adjustable by pivoting the receiver relative to the bracket.

Abstract: Detachable slotted outer and inner hooking buckle members are mounted on opposite ends of a belt for hooking the belt ends together. One side of each slot is manually settably adjustable to vary the width of the slots of the outer member to accommodate belts of various thicknesses passing through the slots while at the same time providing frictional engagement between sides of the slot and the belt.

Abstract: A combination baby carrier and seat comprising a molded doublewalled shell including a seat and a back. A rigid support structure is pivotally connected to the shell. An arcuate integral section below the seat has gear teeth on the outer circumference thereof and a longitudinal slot down the center. A roll extends slidably through said support structure and said slot and is connected at the outer end to a handle. The handle has teeth which mate with any selected section of the gear teeth on the arcuate section. A spring between the other end of the rod and the support structure biases the handle into contact with the arcuate section. Positioning of the handle controls the angular position of the support structure.

Abstract: A sliding panel lock for locking sliding panels such as windows or patio doors slidably coupled to a frame in which the top edge of the frame is captured within an inverted U-shaped channel consisting of a wedge member having a top edge dimensioned for abutting the top inside surface of the channel and a clamp member for clamping the wedge member in position, the wedge member having an inclined bottom surface for wedging against the corner of the sliding panel and extending between the top surface of the sliding panel frame and the bottom surface of the channel into which the frame of the panel member is received, thereby preventing the sliding of the panel toward the wedge member and the lifting of the panel out of the bottom channel.

Abstract: An arm chair and folding table combination. The arm chair is provided with a back rest pivoted to the side walls of the chair. One of the side walls has an opening for receiving a folding table assembly. A U-shaped support is hinged to one end of the table top. The support has spaced legs into which the table top may be folded. A solid panel support is hinged to an opposite end of the table top. The entire table assembly is parallel with the plane of the side wall when folded.

Abstract: A table comprised of a flat top having partitions removably secured thereto to divide the top into isolated work areas and a platform removably secured to the upper edges of the panels to adapt the table for use as a climbing and crawling toy for children. The partitions are received within slots in the top and provided with interlocking edges which secure the partitions against lateral movement relative to one another when received within the slots. Crawl holes are provided in the partitions and the platform so that children may crawl therethrough and tool boards are provided to cover the holes in the partitions when so desired.

Abstract: A novel seat construction is provided for use in fire apparatus, ambulances or other emergency equipment and is formed with a seat upon which a rider may rest and with a backrest extending upward at the rear of the seat and provided with a cavity in which an oxygen tank or the like may be housed in such a manner as to afford comfort for the person resting on the seat and yet be available for instant use by the rider.

Abstract: A set of elements fitting in unit-composed systems for office and house furniture comprises a vertical supporting rod having at the bottom and at the top a plurality of slots for the interchangeable radial connection, respectively with a base and with a bar for mounting panels, containers, shelves, etc, by means of a properly shaped plate.The bar comprises at least two elements and preferably a central one connected to end joints, provided with inner passages for housing electric and/or telephone wires therein. For example these passages are formed by a H beam associated with two opposite outer channels. For the passage of said wires from the vertical rod to the bar, a connecting box may be provided.

Abstract: A dental patient's chair wherein a padding-supporting portion includes a rigid carrier or support frame having fastened to the side remote from the padding cover a unitary shaped element covering the rearwardly facing surface of the backrest, which is elastically-shaped in planes perpendicular to the plane of the backrest, and which is exteriorly provided with a washable surface.

Abstract: A table or bench construction comprising in combination a pillar or plurality of bench legs each formed of a plurality of elongate members and spacer members affixed to and maintaining the elongate members in spaced-apart configuration, pedestal means having joint means for engaging the lower end of the pillar for supporting the pillar in a vertical position on a horizontal surface, a table top or bench top support comprising joint means adapted to engage the upper end of the pillar or leg having a plurality of horizontally extending arms, and a table top or bench top. A table top or bench top frame is provided having a T-form cross-section adapted to engage the horizontally extending arms and the table top or bench top. In a method comprising a modified embodiment of the invention, the table top or bench top may be coated with a heat-softening adhesive and sectors thereof may be affixed together in place on the supporting frame by spot heating the adhesive with a torch or heated iron.

Abstract: A support bracket locking mechanism for locking a cantilever support bracket which is adapted to be mounted on a slotted standard through a plurality of aligned hook connectors. The locking mechanism includes a flexible and slidable locking member having a locking tab and an actuating tab thereon. The locking tab is interposed into the series of aligned hook connectors in a position between and equidistantly spaced from two adjacent hook connectors and is movable to a position nearer one of the two adjacent hook connectors to lock the hook connectors into the slotted standard in response to movement of the actuating tab to a locked position.
