  • Patent number: 11706162
Abstract: A first forwarding VM may execute in a first availability zone and have a first IP address. Similarly, a second forwarding VM may execute in a second availability zone and have a second IP address. The first and second IP addresses may be recorded with a cloud DNS web service of a cloud provider such that both receive requests from applications directed to a particular DNS name acting as a single endpoint. A service cluster may include a master VM node and a standby VM node. An IPtable in each forwarding VM may forward a request having a port value to a cluster port value associated with the master VM node. Upon a failure of the master VM node, the current standby VM node may be promoted to execute in master mode and the IPtables may be updated to now forward requests having the port value to a cluster port value associated with the newly promoted master VM node (which was previously the standby VM node).

  • Patent number: 11700287
Abstract: During a Session Initiation Protocol dialog setup, a media gateway or container executes or initiates two or more applications that provide features during a conference call. The applications are applied to messages or data in the conference call based on a sequence order established during the setup of the conference call. The sequence order and the application identities are stored in a shared database. When a failure occurs during the conference call, the applications are reestablished in the reconstructed or reestablished conference call. The application reconstruction includes reinitiating the applications with the same sequence as previously established before the failure. As such, the user has the same features applied in the same way before and after the failure, which improves the systems performance and expected operation.

  • Patent number: 11695668
Abstract: Technologies for allocating resources of managed nodes to workloads to balance multiple resource allocation objectives include an orchestrator server to receive resource allocation objective data indicative of multiple resource allocation objectives to be satisfied. The orchestrator server is additionally to determine an initial assignment of a set of workloads among the managed nodes and receive telemetry data from the managed nodes. The orchestrator server is further to determine, as a function of the telemetry data and the resource allocation objective data, an adjustment to the assignment of the workloads to increase an achievement of at least one of the resource allocation objectives without decreasing an achievement of another of the resource allocation objectives, and apply the adjustments to the assignments of the workloads among the managed nodes as the workloads are performed. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 11693682
Abstract: A system and method for ensuring the availability of virtual desktops in a cloud based system. The system includes a primary regional datacenter having a primary desktop pool accessible by a desktop client providing access to a desktop to a desktop user. A secondary regional datacenter includes a secondary desktop pool. A control plane orchestrates communication between the desktop client and the regional datacenters. The control plane creates a copy of the desktop from the primary regional datacenter. The control plane performs an activation procedure when a disaster event occurs. The activation procedure includes creating the desktop in the secondary desktop pool from the copy. The activation procedure also directs the desktop client to the secondary desktop pool to access the desktop from the secondary regional datacenter. A deactivation procedure directs the desktop client in the secondary desktop pool to reestablish availability to desktops in the primary desktop pool.

  • Patent number: 11689642
Abstract: Techniques for using computer networking protocol extensions to route control-plane traffic and data-plane traffic associated with a common application are described herein. For instance, a traffic flow associated with an application may be established such that control-plane traffic is sent to a control-plane node associated with the application and data-plane traffic is sent to a data-plane node associated with the application. When a client device sends an authentication request to connect to the application, the control-plane node may send an indication of a hostname to be used by the client device to send data-plane traffic to the data-node. As such, when a packet including the hostname corresponding with the data-plane node is received, the packet may be forwarded to the data-plane node.

  • Patent number: 11671308
Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a local diagnosis system comprising means for performing the following. The local diagnosis system detects one or more anomaly events associated with a communications network. Each anomaly event defines an anomaly pattern describing a data point in a performance indicator space. Then, the local diagnosis system updates one or more local cluster models to incorporate the one or more anomaly patterns within complexity constraints. Each of the one or more local cluster models corresponds to a different diagnosis label defining a diagnosis. In response to failing according to one or more per-defined criteria to incorporate, in the updating, the one or more anomaly patterns to the one or more local cluster models, the local diagnosis system forwards at least the one or more local cluster models and one or more associated diagnosis labels to a central diagnosis system for further diagnosis.

  • Patent number: 11656895
Abstract: Systems and methods permit customers of a service provider network to specify various constraints on a desired fleet of virtual machine instances without having to specify the hardware types of instances to be included in the fleet. Instead, the customer can specify per-instance hardware constraints (number of CPUs, amount of memory, etc.) and job constraints (e.g., deadline, budget, application type, etc.). A provisioning service accesses an internal database containing instance cost data, instance availability data, and mappings between application type and fleet configurations to propose a fleet of instances that complies with the customer-specified per-instance hardware and job constraints, thereby freeing the customer from having to be conversant in the particular instances offered by the service provider.

  • Patent number: 11650895
Abstract: A computer-implemented method executed by one or more processors, the method includes monitoring execution of program code executed by a first processor component; and monitoring execution of program code executed by a second processor component. A computing system stores data identifying hardware events in a memory buffer. The stored events occur across processor units that include at least the first and second processor components. The hardware events each include an event time stamp and metadata characterizing the event. The system generates a data structure identifying the hardware events. The data structure arranges the events in a time ordered sequence and associates events with at least the first or second processor components. The system stores the data structure in a memory bank of a host device and uses the data structure to analyze performance of the program code executed by the first or second processor components.

  • Patent number: 11652665
Abstract: A respective VPN routing table for each of a plurality of VPNs can be stored on a client device. The client device can access a first VPN routing table and, using the first VPN routing table, establish a first VPN tunnel to a first VPN. The first VPN can be a first subnetwork assigned a particular network prefix. While the first VPN tunnel is currently active, the client device can access a second VPN routing table and, using the second VPN routing table, establish a second VPN tunnel to the second VPN. The second VPN can be a second subnetwork assigned the same particular network prefix as the first subnetwork. While the first VPN tunnel and the second VPN tunnel are simultaneously active, the client device can communicate data to remote devices in the first VPN and the second VPN using the particular network prefix for both.
