Abstract: A storage system in one embodiment comprises a plurality of storage devices and a storage controller. The storage controller is configured to receive information indicating whether target data is one of a non-deduplicatable type of data and a deduplicatable type of data. Responsive to the information indicating that the target data is of the deduplicatable type, the storage controller is configured to utilize a content-based mapping generated based on a content of the target data to identify a corresponding physical address for storing the target data. Responsive to the information indicating that the target data is of the non-deduplicatable type, the storage controller is configured to utilize an address-based mapping generated based on a logical address associated with the target data to identify a corresponding physical address for storing the target data.

Abstract: A data sorting system based on HC-TABLEs and an implementation method thereof are provided, relating to a technical field of computer application. The system provided by the present invention consists of a rule library and a sorting scheduling module. The rule library includes a sorting configuration library constituting the HC-TABLEs, and a sorting rule library and a sorting result set library based on the HC-TABLEs. The sorting scheduling module provides functions of scheduling and distribution. The scheduling function is able to transfer a structured query language of to each sorting result set into an actual data file in a task form; and the distribution function is able to distribute the data file. The present invention realizes sorting customized processing of data, has advantages of good expansibility and wide application range, and can be effectively applied in various business-type systems.

Abstract: Embodiments allow, within database security policies, the grant of data change operation-specific privileges to particular users to be applied within particular data realms in a given table. Furthermore, according to one or more embodiments, User Privilege column-level privileges are explicitly associated with one or more data access operations such that the grant of such a column-level privilege allows the user to perform only those data access operations that are explicitly associated with the column-level privilege. Enforcement of the data security policies includes prevention of data leakage via WHERE and RETURNING INTO clauses. According to one or more embodiments, a two-phase rewrite is used to optimize enforcement of column-level privileges. During the two-phase rewrite of a given query, the privileges checked during enforcement of the User Privilege data security policies are pruned to avoid unnecessary privilege checks given the columns that are accessed in the query.

Abstract: Media content search results ranked by popularity is described. In embodiment(s), a search request for television media content can be initiated by a viewer, and television media content that is relevant to the search request can be identified. The relevant television media content can then be ranked based on a popularity rating and the relevant television media content can be displayed in an ordered list that is ordered by popularity rankings.

Abstract: A system according to certain aspects improves the process of managing log data. The system may receive a log data file including one or more log lines that contain information relating to computing operations. At least some of the log lines may include a static portion and a variable portion. The system may process a first log line to identify and extract a static portion from the first log line, and determine a first value for the first log line based on the extracted static portion. The system may process a second log line to identify and extract a static portion from the second log line, and determine a second value for the second log line based on the extracted static portion. The system may compare the first and second values, and based on the comparison, organize the first and second log lines together for presentation to a user.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods of accessing content items stored at a content management system by a mobile device, when the mobile device is not communicatively coupled to the content management system. The content management system can receive an indication to mark a content item (e.g., folder and the content items associated with the folder) as available to a mobile device when the mobile device is offline. The content management system can mark the content item, and any content items associated with the content item, for offline access by the mobile device and determine a synchronization schedule for the content item(s). The content management system can then initially send to the mobile device, the marked content item(s) in accordance with the synchronization schedule. While offline, the mobile device can make changes to the marked content items. The changes can be synchronized between the mobile device and content management system when the mobile device is online.

Abstract: A controller records management information of a file for transmission including unit data on a management table when a recording medium I/F records the unit data in a recording medium. The controller transmits the file for transmission to an external device by a network I/F. The controller erases the management information of the file for transmission after transmitting the file for transmission, and records the management information of the file for recording including the unit data on the management table. The controller updates the management information of the file for recording to management information obtained by combining new unit data with the unit data included in advance whenever the recording medium I/F records the new unit data in the recording medium, records the management information of the file for transmission on the management table, and erases the management information of the file for transmission after transmitting the file for transmission.

Abstract: A method utilized in a mobile device includes: sending a file management command from the mobile device to a flash memory controller; receiving a file entry table from the flash memory controller; calculating a sum of data amounts of a plurality of entries corresponding to file(s) and/or sub-directory(s) in a specific directory; and comparing the sum of data amounts with a specific maximum data amount to determine a message reported to the specific application of the mobile device.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to managing data in a file system over a network. A source file system that includes a plurality of objects may be provided. A replication job that copies each object associated with a source replication snapshot to a target file system may be executed. The replication job may be associated with a job identifier. Recovery point information that includes the job identifier, a source snapshot number that corresponds to the source replication snapshot, a target snapshot number that corresponds to a target replication snapshot may be generated. The recovery point information may be stored on the source file system and a copy of the recovery point information may be stored on the target file system. The recovery point information or the copy of the recovery point information may be employed to recover from errors detected during execution of a next replication job.

Abstract: Various technologies described herein pertain to interactive data splitting. A program for splitting an input column of an input data set into multiple output columns can be synthesized based on input-only examples. The program can further be generated based on various user input; thus, the user input can guide the synthesis of the program. Moreover, the program can be executed on the input data set to split the input column of the input data set into the multiple output columns.

Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and device that assists with managing storage in a distributed deduplication system includes receiving an object to be stored from a client computing device. The received object is divided into a plurality of fragments. A plaintext hash value and a ciphertext hash value is determined for each of the plurality of fragments, wherein each of the plurality of fragments is renamed with the corresponding determined ciphertext hash value. Each of the renamed plurality of fragments are stored in a plurality of storage repositories.

Abstract: The present specification describes an adaptive resource allocation method and apparatus. One example method includes determining a request time, an execution time, and a response time corresponding to a service statement executed by the database system during a time period, wherein the request time is a time at which the service statement was executed by the database system, the execution time is an amount of time allocated for execution of the service statement by the database system, and the response time is an amount of time that elapsed between the request time and a time at which execution of the service statement ended; identifying a time segment of the time period based on the request time; determining a service type associated with the service statement; and updating a resource quota for the time segment based on the service type, the execution time, and the response time for the service statement.

Abstract: Provided herein are workload management techniques that asynchronously configure pluggable databases within a compute cloud. In an embodiment, the compute cloud receives an administrative request that indicates configuration details for a pluggable database. The compute cloud generates a configuration descriptor that specifies an asynchronous job based on the configuration details of the request. The compute cloud accesses hosting metadata to detect at least one of: a) a current container database that already hosts the pluggable database, b) a target container database that will host the pluggable database, or c) a particular computer that hosts at least one of: the current container database, or the target container database. The compute cloud executes the asynchronous job to configure the pluggable database based on at least one of: the hosting metadata, or the configuration descriptor.

Abstract: Not all facts in a data warehouse are described by the same set of dimensions. However, there can be associations between the data dimensions and other dimensions. By maintaining a set of relationships that are capable of linking the dimensional keys used in existing data to the keys of an associated dimension, a data transformation can be constructed that summarizes by the original and by the associated dimensions in feeds in an analytical data mart (cube) that includes all the dimensions. This cube can then be consolidated and analyzed in a slice-and-dice fashion as though all the dimensions were independent. Data transformed in this manner can be analyzed alongside data from a source that is keyed by all of the dimensions.

Abstract: A system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program and a computer-implemented method for matching a user profile on an online platform to a user record of a network-based content publisher. A user profile from which an entry published to an online platform originated is identified. The entry includes a reference to content hosted by a network-based content publisher. The user profile is matched with a user record maintained by the network-based content publisher based on information embedded in the reference to the content that is included in the entry published to the online platform. Data from the user profile is utilized to provide personalization services to a user associated with the user record.

Abstract: Methods are provided to represent proposed changes to clusterings for ease of review, as well as tools to help subject matter experts identify clusters that warrant review versus those that do not. These tools make overall assessment of proposed clustering changes and targeted curation practical at large scale. Use of these tools and method enables efficient data management operations when dealing with extreme scale, such as where entity resolution involves clusterings created from data sources involving millions of entities.

The log entries may include information about the transaction at various stages, including time information, information regarding operations performed, state information and originator information.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for facilitating patient health care by providing discovery, validation, and quality assurance of nomenclatural linkages between pairs of terms or combinations of terms in databases extant on multiple different health information systems that do not share a set of unified codesets, nomenclatures, or ontologies, or that may in part rely upon unstructured free-text narrative content instead of codes or standardized tags. Embodiments discover semantic structures existing naturally in documents and records, including relationships of synonymy and polysemy between terms arising from disparate processes, and maintained by different information systems. In some embodiments, this process is facilitated by applying Latent Semantic Analysis in concert with decision-tree induction and similarity metrics.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system includes a processor(s) executing a new instruction in place of a left outer join instruction to generate a data set, where the left outer join instruction includes at least two tables and an indication of a column in each the tables to join on. Executing the new instruction includes the processor(s) creating a temporary table including all columns of the at least two tables, where values in fields of the temporary table are null values, executing an inner join instruction, the inner join instruction includes the indication of the column in each of the at least two tables to join on, to create a preliminary results set, and generating the data set, wherein the generating includes the processor(s) overlaying the preliminary results set on the temporary table to update a portion of the null values with values from the preliminary results set.
