The closure has a skirt portion, and the skirt portion has one or more apertures in it, at a location or locations near the top of the closure. Adjacent each aperture in the skirt portion of the closure the closure has a flexible tab which is frangibly attached to the skirt portion and which extends inwardly and upwardly from the skirt portion to engage a radially projecting bead on the finish of the container, at a location above the thread on the finish of the container. The cap has depending tabs attached by a living hinge to the skirt portion. Threads are provided as connectors for mating engagement with the container. The cavities have converging sidewalls mating with converging edges to snap lock the tabs in the operative position. A lug may be provided on the threads to lock the cap on the container. Patent number: 4723673Abstract: A cap assembly for a threaded neck of a container includes an inner threaded cap which fits closely within an outer cap that is rotatable about the inner cap within defined limits. The outer cap includes a transparent window through which means are displayed to provide a positive indication of a prior usage or tampering. In one embodiment, a drive bar and a series of breakable fins on the outer cap seen through the window are moved into contact with a break and open bar on the inner cap. After the fins are broken, the drive bar engages the break and open bar to permit rotation of the inner cap with the outer cap and removal of the assembly to open the container. Replacement in the opposite direction causes the drive bar to engage a close bar on the inner cap to reseal the container while the broken fins remain visible. A foil seal having adhesive on one surface may underlie the gasket. The provision of a film seal covering the container neck guarantees the user that the contents of the container are authentic and original as supplied by the manufacturer. The film seal is pierced as the closure is adjusted from an intact to an access position on the container neck. In the upper intact position, a safety band remains intact. The closure can be adjusted to the lower access position only after the safety band has been removed, and the film seal is pierced as the closure is adjusted to the lower access position. Ratchet-like serrations may be provided on the inner side of the safety band engaging the container, thus making it impossible to unscrew a screw-type closure without removing the safety band.
