  • Patent number: 4558468
Abstract: A rear-closure surgical gown having a one-piece-belt system is disclosed in which either sterile or nonsterile gowning assistance can be used. One end of the belt is releasably attached to the front of the gown. The other end of the belt is releasably attached to a transfer device. The transfer device is releasably attached to the front portion of the gown. The belt is looped through a tunnel disposed on the gown by a belt hanger so as to insure sterility of the belt. The middle section of the belt is releasably attached to the back margin of the gown. These features enable positive closure of the gown, and enable both vertical and circumferential adjustment of the belt with respect to the wearer.

  • Patent number: 4557267
Abstract: A molded brassiere formed of a thin fabric includes a nipple patch or cover smoothly adhered to an apex portion of each breast cup to impart a pleasing and modest appearance. The nipple patch is sized, shaped and of an opacity to comfortably cover the nipples and surrounding areola. Further, the nipple patch is sufficiently rigid to depress the nipples, which might otherwise protrude through the thin cup fabric and, thereby, provide a smooth contour along the natural arc line of the bust. The method of making the breast cup of the brassiere is easily and simply accomplished by juxaposedly positioning a coated patch fabric onto a central portion of the flat cup fabric and simultaneously adhering and molding the fabrics at preselected temperatures to form an unitary, three dimensional breast cup including the nipple patch.

  • Patent number: 4555812
Abstract: This invention is directed to a method and an apparatus for converting, preferably, outdoor clothes to a pack by means so that a hiker can carry small and medium sized items. This invention, in many instances, eliminates the need for using a pack board by a hiker for carrying items. For example, there can be attached to suspenders, to a jacket or to a shirt a first attaching means. A pocket or a bag or a pack has a second attaching means. The second attaching means can be, removably, attached to the first attaching means so that the hiker has a pocket or bag or a plurality of pockets and bags attached to suspenders, jacket or a shirt. Further, this invention is directed to a bag, such as a fishing creel, whereby the creel can be attached to the clothes of an individual and carried in that manner.

  • Patent number: 4554682
Abstract: A convertible jacket comprising a sleeveless body garment in the general form of a vest and an upper component comprising, as a unit, two sleeve portions connected by a yoke portion incorporating a neckhole and, optionally, a neckhole extension such as a collar or hood. The yoke portion of the upper component is so configured as to substantially cover the upper back and shoulder area of the body. The upper component, when combined with the vest, forms a selectively convertible jacket providing a second layer of construction upon the upper back and shoulders, minimum restriction of arm and shoulder movement and positive body ventilation. The upper component can be readily oriented to and attached to the vest by fastener means and can be readily detached and removed from the vest. Such attachment or removal may be effected without regard to whether the vest is being worn.

  • Patent number: 4554683
Abstract: A protective enclosure fabricated from a clear, flexible, plastic material that, in the event of an emergency, is easily positionable over the head and upper body of a wearer to protect the wearer from the adverse effects of a contaminated environment, such as that filled with smoke or similar noxious fumes. The top of the enclosure is sealed by a reinforced, relatively stiff closure member. Accordingly, an airspace containing a reserve air supply from which the wearer may breathe is created around the wearer's head. The bottom of the enclosure contains a fastener by which the enclosure may be securely tightened around the waist of the wearer. Each side of the enclosure includes an arm port through which the wearer's arms may extend. The arm ports are interfaced with an elastic material which is adapted to form an airtight seal around the wearer's arms when the arms are inserted therethrough.
