Abstract: A vest structure having a back panel connected to the upper portions of a left front panel and a right front panel, each of said panels being provided with inside pockets to receive cool or warm packs, and fastening means to provide a close fit of the vest structure around a person's torso.

Abstract: The undergarment is in the form of pants composed of chain mail and having a belt which may be locked about a wearer's waist. The pants cannot thereafter be removed from the wearer's body in the absence of a key without the use of tools normally not carried by persons intent upon a sexual attack.

Abstract: A panty-type undergarment comprising a waistband connected to a body segment having front and back panels which terminate at leg openings, with a crotch segment located between the leg openings and a crotch opening situated between the leg openings and separating the crotch segment and the front panel along an edge of each extending generally parallel to the waistband, wherein the front panel adjacent to the crotch opening has first fastener means and the crotch segment adjacent to the crotch opening has second fastener means releasably engageable with the first fastener means so that the wearer can selectively open and close the crotch opening of the undergarment by selectively peeling apart and pressing together the first and second fastener means.

Abstract: A garment to be worn by human beings comprising a trunk portion to which is attached one end of each of a pair of elastromeric extensions, each of the other ends thereof carrying a button. Said button has an enlarged end portion, and a clip is provided to engage a reduced portion of such button after the fabric or cloth material of a shirt is caused to at least partially encircle such button.

Abstract: A garment that works in response to the degree of correction needed to support the anterior abdominal wall and provide a cosmetic reshaping of the abdomen to yield a flat appearance. A support panel (10) has three elastic webs (12, 14, 16) with their respective grains running at contrasting angles. When in use, the support panel is positioned on the lower abdomen and the webs interact with one another so that the support panel assumes a pouch-like shape that holds and lifts the abdomen. A shaping panel (40) is connected to the waistband and positioned in front of the support panel (10). The shaping panel (40) includes two elastic side webs (44,46) that interact with a nonelastic central web (42) to cause the shaping panel to assume a curvilinear operative configuration. A lower portion of the shaping panel conforms to the pouch-like shape of the support panel and cooperates therewith to hold and lift the abdomen.

Abstract: A combination poncho and tent is formed by attaching the larger end of a tapered sleeve of material to one of the sheets of a conventional poncho. In its collapsed state, the entire sleeve is secured to the poncho for storage by means of a pocket in the poncho or a flap of material that folds over the collapsed sleeve.

Abstract: An external appliance to be worn on the trunk of a person compensates for lack of tone, metricity and for sensitivity in the vertebral column and trunk. The appliance comprises upper and lower composite structures respectively surrounding the hemithoracic regions and the pelvis and abdomen. The appliance takes into account differential variations in trunk diameter and provides a preferential link between the scapular muscles and pelvic motor muscles of the user.

Abstract: A static dissipative garment configuration for persons employed in the manufacture and testing of sensitive electronic components. The garment is formed from a fabric which exhibits an electrical resistance of less than 10.sup.8 ohms per unit square and a decay time of no greater than 0.05 seconds. The garments also include tapered sleeves, steel snaps and are at least 3/4 length and include side slits extending from the bottom hem upwardly.

Abstract: A garment for female wear is provided with a resilient integrally formed seamless polyester fiberfill bust cup assembly which defines spaced-apart integrally formed breast-receiving cups therein. Side panels are attached to each end of the bust cup assembly. The side panels are cut on a bias so as to take advantage of the natural stretch of the fabric. A back bodice is attached to each of the side panels so as to complete the encirclement of the body of the wearer. The back bodice panel is also cut on a bias so as to take advantage of the natural stretch of the fabric. A front skirt panel is attached at its upper edge to the lower horizontal edge of the bust cup assembly. A back skirt panel is attached at its upper edge to the lower edge of the back bodice panel. The front skirt panel and the back skirt panel are sewn together at their corresponding vertically oriented longitudinal edges so as to complete the encirclement of the body of the wearer.

Abstract: A birthing gown of the front overlapping variety for expectant mothers in birthing clinics. Separate blouse panels and skirt panels are configured so that when sewn into the gown and without expansion gussets or gathering darts, they permit billowing to accommodate the enlarged breasts and abdomen of the pregnant woman. The skirt panel is sheared along its top edge and connected to the corresponding blouse panel. The left and right front side portions of the gown each comprising interconnected blouse and skirt panels, are releasably fastened together in overlapping relationship with the interconnected edges forming a "waist line" positioned between the breasts and abdomen of the patient.

Abstract: A disposable surgical gown having areas manufactured from materials having a high degree of air permeability is disclosed. Other portions of the disposable surgical gown are manufactured from material which are liquid repellent or liquid impermeable.

Abstract: A garment (30) formed from two rectangular elongated panels (32 and 34) of identical shape and dimensions. The panels are superimposed in a face-to-face manner at an angle. Their upper portions are folded so that the edge of each upper portion adjoins a part of the corresponding edge of the other panel, thereby to form triangularly-shaped sleeve portions (50 and 50'). The latter are turned over towards the adjacent edges (46 and 46') to form sleeve openings (38 and 38'). The lower portions of the panels are folded so that the inner edge of one of panels adjoins and is attached to the outer edge of the other panel on both sides of the panels. The formation of the garment is completed by attaching coincident inner edges of the overlapped portions of the panels to leave a neck opening. Various modifications are possible so that dress-type, blouse-type, or coat-type garments can be formed. The garment is attractive and economical to produce.

Abstract: Elastic pants or briefs for holding a disposable diaper in place, provided in both the front and back piece with elastic threads which define a central portion tapering towards the crotch of the pants, and/or with a central area extending up from the crotch portion, which is more loosely crocheted or knitted than the rest of the pants, thereby achieving effective tightening of the underlying disposable diaper against the body of the user.

Abstract: A bra for use, particularly, during participation in sports is provided. The bra has no cups formed in the material, and seams are otherwise avoided. The bra is, essentially, formed as one continuous knitted piece with a two way stretch and the rear of the bra has a height almost the same as that of the front of the bra to provide added support.

Abstract: A training panty (10) includes a pair of pants (12) having a front panel (14) and a rear panel (16) integrally joined together at a crotch (18). Releasable contact fastening members (30, 38) are positioned on opposing surfaces of front panel (14) and rear panel (16), respectively along the lateral edges thereof so that front panel (14) and rear panel (16) can be releasably secured together to define a waistband (20) and a pair of identical leg openings (22). In an alternative embodiment, front panel (14) is substantially smaller than rear panel (16) and is constructed to overlay the front midsection only of the body of the child wearer. In that embodiment, rear panel (16) is constructed to partially encircle the child's body and to be releasably secured to front panel (14) at a location proximate the front midsection of the child's body.

Abstract: A novel and useful pants-type outergarment having a crotch opening and a padded fly attached to the interior of the outergarment on one side to the crotch opening seam line, beginning at a front placket of the outergarment and extending to the back waistband. First fastener means are provided on one side of the padded fly to cooperate with and releasably engage second fastener means provided on the inner thigh seam line adjacent to the crotch opening so that, when the two fastener means are engaged with each other, the padded fly cannot roll up while the garment is being worn, and third fastener means are provided to selectively close together and open apart the opposite sides of the crotch opening.

Abstract: The present invention is a two-part interconnected protecting device which when properly used will enable the user to release a pressure cap or close a valve while simultaneously preventing the hot spraying fluid from striking the user. The first part is a hand protector of a heat-resistant, water-impermeable material. The second part is a circular skirt of preferably the same type of material which is secured to the base of the hand protector.

Abstract: A waistband adjusting element for garments such as trousers, which provides for greater flexibility in the adjustable connection of overlapping waistband sections, is disclosed. A detent rail is attached to the inner waistband member and has a movable slider mounted on it, coupled to a hinged locking tab provided with a central window, through which a cover strip passes to conceal the detent rail from view. The other end of the locking tab is pivotably coupled to the outer waistband section by flexible fabric loop which is capable of rotating from a flat position against the outer waistband section to a folded back overlapping position through an arc of approximately 180.degree.. The flexibility of the fabric loop through its pivoting range allows the locking tab to also pivot through a corresponding 180.degree. range between engaged and disengaged positions with respect to the detent rail.

Abstract: A foldable pad having a base member with resilient material to cushion strap exerted loads on the shoulder. A positionable member of the pad may fold along a fold line into overlying relationship both with the base member and with a strap segment in place thereon. Fabric closure material of the hook and loop type in place on the opposing faces of the members serves to maintain a fixed relationship between strap and pad while retaining the pad in closed configuration. Frictional elements on the pad prevent pad displacement along a strap segment.
