  • Patent number: 7930146
Abstract: Representations of data inversions are generated by alternate forms of maximum likelihood estimating which are rendered in correspondence with dependent coordinate mappings of path-oriented displacements. The dependent coordinate mappings are alternately considered to represent either path coincident deviations, path-oriented data-point projections. Normal displacements are rendered in normalized coordinates as a shortest distance between respective data samples and successive fitting function approximations. Deficiencies in representing likelihood as related to nonlinearities and heterogeneous precision are compensated by essential weighting of respectively mapped path-oriented displacements.

  • Patent number: 7925454
Abstract: A process for determining a remaining useful life for a turbine airfoil that suffers from erosion or corrosion damage in order to reuse a component that still has acceptable remaining life. The process includes the steps of removing the damaged component, scanning the damaged component with an optical scanner such as a white light scanner to produce a 3D solid model of the damaged component, scanning a new component to produce a 3D solid model of the undamaged component, comparing the two 3D solid models to determine the amount of damage on the damaged component, determining the length of time the damaged component was used and the temperature at which it was exposed, and analyzing the 3D solid model of the damaged component to determine how much longer the part can be used before the component will suffer critical damage or the engine will suffer unacceptable performance.

  • Patent number: 7917327
Abstract: Two robotic arms roam in separate, non-overlapping areas of a test station, avoiding collisions. A traveling buffer moves along x-tracks between a front position and a back position. In the front position, a first robotic arm loads IC chips from an input tray or stacker into buffer cavities in the traveling buffer. The traveling buffer then moves along the x-tracks to the back position, where a second robotic arm moves chips from the traveling buffer to test boards for testing. After testing, the second robotic arm moves chips to a second traveling buffer, which then moves along tracks to a front position for unloading by the first robotic arm. Two traveling buffers may move on the same tracks in a loop. The buffer cavities in the traveling buffer move on internal tracks to expand and contract spacing and pitch between the front and back positions to match test-board pitch.

  • Patent number: 7912679
Abstract: An optical metrology model is created for a structure formed on a semiconductor wafer. The optical metrology model comprises one or more profile parameters, one or more process parameters, and dispersion. A dispersion function is obtained that relates the dispersion to at least one of the one or more process parameters. A simulated diffraction signal is generated using the optical metrology model and a value for the at least one of the process parameters and a value for the dispersion. The value for the dispersion is calculated using the value for the at least one of the process parameter and the dispersion function. A measured diffraction signal of the structure is obtained. The measured diffraction signal is compared to the simulated diffraction signal. One or more profile parameters of the structure and one or more process parameters are determined based on the comparison of the measured diffraction signal to the simulated diffraction signal.

  • Patent number: 7908121
Abstract: A method, system and computer program is used to determine a linear track having a good fit to a most likely or expected path of charged particle passing through a charged particle detector having a plurality of drift cells. Hit signals from the charged particle detector are associated with a particular charged particle track. An initial estimate of time zero is made from these hit signals and linear tracks are then fit to drift radii for each particular time-zero estimate. The linear track having the best fit is then searched and selected and errors in fit and tracking parameters computed. The use of large and expensive fast detectors needed to time zero in the charged particle detectors can be avoided by adopting this method and system.
