Patent number: 6623832Abstract: A sealing strip, such as for fitting to the frame of a door opening in a motor vehicle body, comprises a longitudinally extending channel-shaped mounting portion incorporating a channel-shaped reinforcing carrier. The hollow tubular longitudinally extending sealing portion is attached to the outside of the mounting portion. When such a strip is bent to follow curves in the door frame, the increased tension in the mounting portion at the curves can cause the sealing portion to move inwardly of the curve so as partially the bridge across the curve. In order to avoid this, the sealing strip, and particularly the mounting portion are longitudinally compressed at positions corresponding to the positions where curves are to be formed in the strip. This local longitudinal compression helps to maintain the sealing portion in its correct attitude.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2000Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Assignee: GenCorp Property, Inc.Inventor: Helmut Greven

Patent number: 6602547Abstract: A new fluidized bed particle coating method is disclosed by the use of which coatings can be uniformly and conveniently deposited on the surfaces of fluidized particulate materials by vapor deposition processes at temperatures lower than those of the heated coating precursor transport lines. By this method, particle materials with relatively low surface temperatures may be brought into close proximity with a coating precursor containing gas stream characterized by a substantially higher gas volume temperature in such a way that the vaporized precursor molecules are caused to adsorb or condense on the relatively cold particle surfaces without also condensing on any other surface. Further, if the adsorbed precursor molecules are capable of reacting or polymerizing on the relatively cold particle surfaces, thus forming substantially continuous coatings on those surfaces, they may do so without also depositing such coatings on any other surfaces.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2001Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Osram Sylvania Inc.Inventors: Keith A. Patent number: 6592938Abstract: The invention relates to a method for coating particles thus obtained. According to the inventive method, the particles that are to be coated and at least one organo-metallic complex precursor of the coating material are brought into contact with each other in a liquid containing one or several solvents, whereby said particles are maintained in a dispersion in the liquid which is subjected to temperature conditions and supercritical pressure or slightly sub-critical pressure conditions; the precursor of the coating material is transformed in such a way that it is deposited onto the particles, whereupon the liquid is placed in temperature and pressure conditions so that it can eliminate the solvent in a gaseous state. The invention can be used to coat nanometric particles in paticular.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2001Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Centre National de la Recherche ScientifiqueInventors: Vincent Pessey, François Cansell, Bernard Chevalier, François Weill, Jean Etourneau
