  • Patent number: 6626393
Abstract: An armature winder having an adjustable winding arm, includes a wire delivery point with two degrees of freedom—one along the longitudinal axis of the armature winder and one transverse to the longitudinal axis of the armature winder. In one preferred embodiment, the adjustable winding arm pivots around an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the winder. This pivoting motion allows adjustment of the wire delivery point along an arcuate path, thereby utilizing each of the degrees of freedom simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 6626385
Abstract: The invention is to offer a spinning reel for fishing, in which a handle can be replaced left and right, and an offset amount of a spool shaft and a handle shaft is reduced without lowering strength of these shafts, so that transmitting efficiency of rotating torque from a drive gear to a pinion gear can be heightened and a reel main body can be miniaturized. In the spinning reel for fishing, a part of the handle shaft crossing with the spool shaft is formed as a small diameter portion determined to have a smaller diameter than those of other parts of the handle shaft, and a part of the handle which is connected to the handle shaft is less to extend within the handle shaft to traverse the crossing portion of the spool shaft and the handle shaft.

  • Patent number: 6622955
Abstract: A winder for winding wire onto coil supports of dynamo-electric cores with translational, rotational, and stratification motions with respect to a central longitudinal axis of the dynamo-electric core is provided. The rotational motion may preferably be provided by the rocking motion of a gear sector. The stratification motion may preferably be provided by the implementation of a spiral groove. The spiral groove preferably shares the same longitudinal axis as the winder. The rotation of the spiral groove preferably creates a relative motion between the groove and the needles, thereby producing the radial stratification motion of the needles. Additionally, the winder includes a motor arrangement which is programmable and controllable. The motor arrangement may also provide a dampening effect to limit unwanted stratification motion.

  • Patent number: 6619626
Abstract: A method for pressure compensation in reversible motors used to drive hoisting cables and closing cables of a cable operated crane is provided. The method includes connecting a hydraulic motor to hoisting cables, connecting another hydraulic motor to closing cables, connecting the hydraulic motors to a common pressure medium source via delivery lines, performing a closing operation of a grab of the crane while simultaneously detecting working pressures in working circuits of the hydraulic motors, adjusting the working pressures during the closing operation using a control so that during the grab the working pressures are substantially equal to one another. • Patent number: 6616129
Abstract: A hoisting device for spreader supporting slide member of a sunshade includes first and second ratchet combinations each including a first ratchet, and a second turning ratchet. The ratchet combinations are positioned to face two opposite sides of the sunshade shank with the second ratchets being positioned between corresponding first ratchets and the shank. The ratchet combinations are biased towards the shank with springs. A shaft is passed through the shank plus the ratchet combinations, and is joined to a handle for effecting rotation thereof. The shaft is joined to a reel, which contacts the second ratchets at two end disk portions. Friction of the second ratchets against the end disk portions counteracts gravity on the slide member to prevent the sunshade from unwontedly folding from spread position once the sunshade is spread.

  • Patent number: 6612520
Abstract: A coil assembly includes a spool and a connector keyed thereto. To wind a coil on the spool, the spool is moved linearly with respect to the connector until the connector does not interfere with the winding bay on the spool. Thereafter, a wire is wound around the spool within the winding bay to form the coil. Once the coil is complete, the spool can be moved linearly with respect to the connector until a keying structure on the spool engages an opposing keying structure on the connector and a locking mechanism on the spool engages a corresponding locking mechanism on the connector. Thus, a complete coil assembly can be manufactured in one operation with minimal manufacturing steps.

  • Patent number: 6612511
Abstract: A drag knob of a spinning reel includes a main knob unit, a presser unit and a retaining member. The knob unit is a die-cast member having a concave portion provided on the rear side, and interlocking grooves that are formed on the front side at a certain spacing in circumferential direction, and extend along an axis direction through an outer periphery of the concave portion up to a groove end. A portion of the presser unit is accommodated in the concave portion. The retaining member has corner portions that interlock with the interlocking grooves, and contact portions that are formed in one piece with the corner portions and contact the presser unit from the rear side. The retaining member has enough elasticity to be mounted in the concave portion to retain the presser unit. The present invention reduces the manufacturing costs of a fishing reel.

  • Patent number: 6609674
Abstract: An in-situ curing filament winding process for making high quality flywheel rims at low cost, and the rims made by the process, and also an apparatus for performing the process, continuously cures resin during the filament winding process. A lower winding process temperature is used along with a lower cure temperature and inherently higher toughness epoxy resin system allows for the rim to be wound continuously, using a conservative radial deposition rate of approximately ¼-½ inch per hour. Multiple types of fibers can be used in a rim where they best serve the strength and stiffness requirements of the structure. The winding temperature can be kept at approximately 55° C.-80° C., providing low thermal residual stresses. Aliphatic amine or ether amine curing agents with epoxy resin generally work well to reduce the winding temperature and allow low viscosity, but other resin systems that provide similar characteristics can be used.
