Abstract: In some examples, a service device may receive, from buyer applications on respective buyer devices, communications indicating a number of times item information about a first item is presented in user interfaces on the buyer devices. The service device may further receive respective orders through the user interfaces, for the first item or other items. The service device may compare the number of times the item information about the first item is presented in the respective user interfaces to a number of times the buyer applications are used to place orders for the first item to determine a value for the first item. In addition, the service device may send, to a merchant device, a communication indicating an amount of the first item determined for the merchant based at least in part on the value determined for the first item.

Abstract: A method including receiving, at a transaction system from a first entity, a request including a merchant identifier associated with a merchant. The transaction system can be in data communication with a first financial institution that maintains one or more first accounts of a consumer and a second financial institution that maintains a second account of the merchant. The one or more first accounts can include at least one non-demand deposit account. The transaction system can be maintained by an entity that is different from the merchant, the first financial institution, and the second financial institution. The consumer can use a mobile device at a store of the merchant to authorize paying a payment amount for one or more items in a transaction using the one or more first accounts. The method also can include determining, at the transaction system, an account identifier of the second account of the merchant maintained by a second financial institution using a merchant account database.

Abstract: This invention discloses a novel system and method for providing retail point of sale terminals that are connected securely over the Internet to a back-office service that manages the retailer's data as a service using a system that supports more than one retailer, each of which will have one or more point of sale terminals. The system is adapted to provide a function to manage open checks that correspond to retail customers whose transactions are pending. The system is also adapted to permit service personnel to manage open checks by splitting them into multiple checks or merging multiple checks into one check.

Abstract: Scans of a selected product on shelves of a retail store are obtained and the scans are transmitted over a network via a transceiver circuit. A perpetual inventory (PI) value is stored for a selected product in a database. A data structure includes a first category and first actions programmatically linked to the first category. The first actions include instructing an autonomous vehicle to find the selected product, instructing an employee to find the selected product, and adjusting the PI value of the selected product. When the selected product is out-of-stock and when the PI value is greater than a predetermined threshold, one or more of the first actions associated with the first category are performed.

In an example, server(s) associated with a payment processing service may receive, from a point-of-sale (POS) device associated with a merchant, an order associated with at least one item available for purchase from a physical location of the merchant. The server(s) may store the order in a storage data structure. In an example, the server(s) may determine an occurrence of a trigger event and may update a status of the order based at least in part on the trigger event. In some examples, the trigger event may correspond to an interruption in a connection with the POS device, fulfillment of the order, etc. The status of the order can indicate whether the order is to be sent to the POS device, removed from the storage data structure, etc.

Abstract: A payment handling system may operate to handle payments for the cost of a transaction in which one or more devices operate in an offline mode. The payment handling system may allow for merchant devices to make modifications to local versions of an open ticket while in an off-line mode. When a merchant device subsequently enters an online mode, the systems and techniques may operate to reconcile differences between the local versions of the open ticket.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method of identifying and managing IT assets that aggregates fields and their associated values from multiple event log data sources that share one or more common IT asset identifiers and leverages a prioritization approach to determine the most appropriate values for each of the fields. The method further includes causing the transaction receipt to be printed as a printed receipt. The method further includes identifying, by the POS system, a one of the plurality of selectable tip options specified by a customer on the printed receipt. Among other benefits, the disclosed techniques reduce the time and effort the merchant needs to spend on collating the tipping at end of the business day.

Abstract: Techniques and arrangements for facilitating synchronization of order ticket functionality utilized by point-of-sale (POS) devices with kitchen display systems. In some example, a POS device and a line buster device collectively receive a plurality of customer orders associated with a transaction between a merchant and plurality of customers. Based on individual customer orders, the POS device determines when to fire off the orders to the kitchen display system irrespective of the sequence in which they are received. In some examples, the kitchen display system then synchronizes with a customer device to provide real-time or near-real time updates on the status of the order.
