Abstract: The described payment splitting technology can enable a person to split a cost of a product over a number of payments. For example, mobile device can receive a code for a product, receive an indication via the display of the mobile device that a person wants to split the cost of the product, and send a payment split indicator to a point of sale (POS) device. The POS device can scan the product, determine a cost for the product, receive the payment spilt indicator, and send the cost and the payment split indicator to a server where the transaction for the product can be authorized and the splitting of the payment can be approved.

Abstract: Techniques for weight checking for verification of ticket switching are disclosed herein. An example system includes: a weighing scale; cameras configured to capture images of items passing through a product scanning region and images of barcodes affixed to the items; a processor; and a memory storing instructions that cause the one or more processors to determine a first identification of an item based on the image of the barcode; determine a second identification of the item based on the image of the item; compare the first identification to the second identification to determine whether the two identifications match; based on determining that the two identifications do not match, generate a request for the user to place the item on the weighing scale; determine that the weight of the item does not match a first weight associated with the first identification of the item; and trigger one or more mitigation actions.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, an information processing apparatus registers, upon input of identification information of a commodity to be purchased via a mobile terminal, data of the commodity to be purchased identified by the identification information in a list. The information processing apparatus notifies, upon receiving an instruction to execute checkout from the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal of a checkout code for specifying the list. The information processing apparatus outputs, upon input of the code in a checkout machine, the list specified by the code to the checkout machine. The information processing apparatus counts the number of codes that are notified to the mobile terminal but not input in the checkout machine. The information processing apparatus executes processing for notifying the user of the mobile terminal of the count value.

Abstract: A refrigerating appliance includes a cabinet having an inner liner that defines at least one aperture for accessing a refrigerating compartment. A door is operably coupled to the cabinet and is operable between open and closed positions. A plurality of storage surfaces is positioned within the refrigerating compartment. Each storage surface is adapted to receive at least one temporarily stored item. A scanning apparatus is adapted to record data related to the storage surfaces and the at least one temporarily stored item. The scanning apparatus conducts first and second data capturing phases. The secondary data recorded during the second data capturing phase is compared against previous data recorded during the first data capturing phase to create a current inventory manifest. The current inventory manifest is compared with a set of predetermined parameters related to the at least one temporarily stored item to selectively provide an output.

Abstract: A system and method for managing inventory in a dispensing cabinet includes a mobile terminal, and an association station configured to associate the mobile terminal with an item type stored in the dispensing cabinet. The association station receives, from the mobile terminal, an indication of a respective item unit of the first item type being moved, determines an access status of one or more containers of the dispensing cabinet when the indication is received, determines a container location for the item unit based on the access status of the containers and receiving the indication of the respective item being moved from the first mobile terminal, and causes, responsive to determining the container location, a supply record associated with the item type and a first container of the dispensing cabinet to be updated to reflect a change to a first amount of the first item type stored in the first container.

Abstract: Systems and methods for dynamically displaying aggregated social media/calendar content in a graphical user interface (GUI) include displaying a date selector configured to retrieve an input from a user, the input including information about a selected date of interest to the user displaying graphical element corresponding respectively to user content containing retrieved first social media/calendar content, other user content containing retrieved second social media/calendar content, and aggregated social media/calendar content based on the first and second modified social media/calendar content. The graphical elements are displayed within respective portions of the GUI on a computer screen.

Abstract: Tidiness data associated with an inventory location, such as a shelf, indicates whether an item returned to the inventory location is designated for storage at the inventory location. When an item is returned to the inventory location and a user is determined to be near the inventory location, the weight change detected at the inventory location is compared to a corresponding weight of each item in the custody of the user, such as items within cart state data associated with the user. Differences in weight between the weight change and the corresponding weight of each item in the custody of the user are calculated. Such differences may then be compared to one or more metrics, such as threshold values, to determine how well the top candidate item in the custody of the user matches the type of item designated for storage at the inventory location.

Abstract: A system for managing a securities-based card spending account is disclosed. The system comprises a processor and an account comprising one or more securities. A first set of instructions is executable on the processor that is capable of allowing the setting of trade parameters defining percentages of the one or more securities to be traded to cover a purchase. A computing device may receive a first communication related to an update to a past financial transaction. The computing device may identify a second communication by querying, based on the first communication, a communications database. The first communication and second communication may be correlated using one or more natural language processing algorithms. Based on correlating the first communication and second communication, the computing device may identify a portion of the second communication corresponding to the at least one good or service of the past financial transaction by processing, using the one or more natural language processing algorithms, the second communication. A computer system identifies a number of merit groups for a group of employees based on employee evaluation for employees in the group of employees. The computer system identifies a number of compensation adjustment parameters. The computer system applies the number of compensation adjustment parameters to a compensation distribution of the group of employees to determine a compensation adjustment for each merit group. The computer system determines impact of the compensation adjustment on the compensation distribution of the group of employees. The computer system displays the impact of the compensation adjustment in a compensation adjustment scenario.
