Abstract: A grease composition for a constant-velocity joint includes a mineral oil, a thickener, a molybdenum dithiocarbamate, a potassium borate hydrate, and a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, wherein a content of the molybdenum dithiocarbamate is 1.2% by mass or more and 8% by mass or less, a content of the zinc dialkyldithiophosphate is 0.3% by mass or more and 2.0% by mass or less, and a content of the potassium borate hydrate is 0.28% by mass or more and 1.9% by mass or less, and wherein a mass ratio of the content of the molybdenum dithiocarbamate to the content of the potassium borate hydrate (molybdenum dithiocarbamate/potassium borate hydrate) is 2 or more and 13 or less, and a mass ratio of the content of the zinc dialkyldithiophosphate to the content of the potassium borate hydrate (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate/potassium borate hydrate) is 0.5 or more and 3.6 or less.

Abstract: A process for solid lubricant filler powder used in abradable coating manufacture comprising mixing a bentonite clay and a hexagonal boron nitride powder to form a mixture of the bentonite clay and the hexagonal boron nitride powder; consolidating the bentonite clay and the hexagonal boron nitride powder to form a composite material; heat treating the composite material to at least 500 degrees centigrade; breaking up the composite material into a variety of sizes; and segregating the composite material to produce a final product of free flowing, low dust powder of composite hexagonal boron nitride and calcined bentonite.

Abstract: The invention discloses a lubricating grease with thixotropy and a preparation method thereof. The lubricating grease comprises a polyurea/high base number calcium sulfonate composite thickener, colloidally dispersed calcium carbonate solid particles in the form of calcite, a calcium borate or calcium borate composite, and a calcium soap of fatty acid having 12 to 24 carbon atoms. The above components are uniformly dispersed in an oil phase medium. The content of high base number calcium sulfonate in the lubricating grease is less than 22 wt %, and the lubricating grease has a worked cone penetration of 295 or less.

Abstract: A lubricant composition is provided containing an oil of lubricating viscosity and a substantially sulfur-free alkyl phosphate amine salt, where at least 30 mole percent of the phosphorus atoms are in an alkyl pyrophosphate salt structure, along with either or both of a conventional phosphorous containing antiwear additive and a glycerol ester. In the phosphate amine salt, at least 80 mole percent of the alkyl groups are typically secondary alkyl groups of 3 to 12 carbon atoms. A method of improving wear over a wide temperature range in a mechanical device is also provided by employing the lubricant composition.

Abstract: The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition for automatic transmissions which comprises: 55 to 85 mass % of a Fischer-Tropsch synthetic oil with a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 2 to 4 mm2/s as a low-viscosity base oil; 1 to 10 mass % of an olefin copolymer 5 with a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 150 to 1,000 mm2/s as a high-viscosity base oil; and a polymethacrylate with a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000 to 50,000. This lubricating oil composition is such that the viscosity index of the composition is not 10 less than 190, the Brookfield viscosity is not more than 6,000 mPa·s at low temperature (?40° C.), the kinematic viscosity at 100° C. is 6 to 7 mm2/s, and the rate of reduction of the kinematic viscosity after a KRL shear stability test (60° C., 20 hr) is kept to within not more 15 than 3%.

Abstract: Polymer compositions for coating of metal surfaces including moieties that interact with a metal atom in the metal surface and optionally containing antifoulant moieties. These polymer compositions provide lubricious coatings for medical devices, anticorrosion coatings for metal components, and antifoulant coatings for marine components such as propellers. The polymer composition is synthesized in a safe manner in which the synthesis components are added to a synthesis vat and there is no need for filtration or removal of waste materials in any step including the consumer use. As such this invention provides an environmentally sound approach to composition synthesis, formulation development, and consumer use.
