Abstract: A method for configuring an algorithm for processing data in a database may include generating a plurality of rules by converting a concrete syntax representation of one or more constraints associated with a parameter of the algorithm into an abstract syntax representation of the constraints. A first input value associated with the first parameter may be received from a client via a user interface at the client. The user interface may be updated based on the first input value. The user interface may be updated by applying a first rule from the plurality of rules. The update to the user interface may include a change to a visibility, a modifiability, and/or an allowed value of a second parameter of the algorithm. Related systems and articles of manufacture, including computer program products, are also provided.

The process displays a user interface for an electronic messaging application, including a label list panel comprising labels and an electronic message list panel comprising listed objects associated with a user of the electronic messaging application. Each respective object is visually distinct and represents one or more corresponding electronic messages received by the user. The user selects a first label from the label list panel and a first electronic message from the electronic message list panel. The user associates the first electronic message with the first label. The process receives a search query for electronic messages associated with the first label. In response, the process identifies electronic messages associated with the first label. The identified electronic messages include the first electronic message.

Abstract: A system and a method on an integrated circuit are provided herein. The system may include: a plurality of defined data processing dedicated areas to perform computational functions relating to a corresponding plurality of natural user interface features, to obtain the plurality of user interface features based on scene features detected by a plurality of sensors within a defined period of time; a central processing unit configured to carry out software instructions to support the computational functions of the dedicated areas; and at least one defined area for synchronized data management, to receive signals corresponding to detected scene features from the plurality of sensors and to route the signals to suitable dedicated areas of the plurality of dedicated areas to provide real-time acquiring of user interface features.

Abstract: A review workflow graph (e.g., graph database) is provided that is a graphical representation of a review workflow assigned to a document and/or an individual document section. In particular, contents of the document may be stored as nodes in the review workflow graph. As the reviewers perform the review workflow, results associated with one or more review processes may be recorded and stored in the review workflow graph with relationships to the content nodes. In aspects, the graph of nodes may be materialized into a view of the document and/or a review timeline. For instance, portions of the document that have been completed may be materialized, but content that is not yet complete (e.g., reached a milestone) may not be materialized. Additionally, the review timeline may be a visual or other representation of the temporal progress of the review workflow, including intermediate milestones as well as an ultimate completion deadline.

Abstract: Methods and systems for processing audio signals include receiving, via an application displayed at a client computing device, an audio signal and a user control input for controlling an audio processing effect of the audio signal. The method may comprise sending the audio signal and the user control input to an audio server and then relaying the audio signal through the audio server to an input of an audio processing device. The method may also comprise controlling a setting on the audio processing device through a hardware controller based on the user control input, and returning a processed version of the audio signal from the audio processing device to the client computing device. The method may comprise adding an identifying signal between samples of an unprocessed version of the audio signal and initiating playback based on the identifying signal.

Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a server-side system that dynamically enhances user experience on a remoting client device. During operation, the system monitors user inputs on the client device. When a user input involving a predetermined interaction between the user and the GUI on the client device is detected, the system alters parameters of frame encoding based on the user interaction. Frame updates transmitted to the client device during the user interaction are encoded with the altered encoding method to improve user experience. Once the user interaction is ended, the system reverts back to the normal encoding method.

Abstract: Example embodiments for generating a user interface are presented. In an example embodiment, a layout definition for the interface is accessed, in which the layout definition defines user interface groups, each of which include one or more user interface elements. Also accessed are metadata describing the groups and the elements of each group, with each element having a corresponding type. One or more control renderers are also accessed, with each control renderer including programming code to render those of the elements of a corresponding type based on the metadata. Also accessed are one or more context renderers, with each context renderer including programming code to arrange the rendered elements in a layout for the user interface based on relationships between groups. The control renderers and context renderers are executed to render the user interface.

Abstract: A system includes a sensing device and an industrial monitor comprising a memory and a processor communicatively coupled to the sensing device. The processor is configured to receive a measurement of a mechanical system during operation and determine a plurality of parameters of the mechanical system based on the received measurement. The system includes a portable monitoring device configured to individually present a series of screens on a display in response to user input, wherein each of the plurality of parameters is respectively associated with a particular screen of the series of screens, and wherein each particular screen is configured to selectively present a navigational indicator when a parameter that is associated with a different screen has an irregular status, and wherein the navigational indicator has an appearance that indicates the user input that will cause the different screen to be presented on the display of the monitoring device.

Abstract: Techniques and systems to support immersive media content navigation and editing are described. A two-dimensional equirectangular projection of a spherical video is generated by a computing device and displayed in a navigator portion of a user interface of a content editing application. A visual position indicator, indicative of a position within the spherical video, is displayed over the 2D equirectangular projection of the spherical video. A portion of the spherical video is determined based on the position, and a planar spherical view of the portion of the spherical video is generated by the computing device and displayed in a compositor portion of the user interface. The navigator portion and the compositor portion are linked such that user input to the navigator portion or the compositor portion of the user interface causes corresponding visual changes in both the navigator portion and the compositor portion of the user interface.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting data to an external device are provided. The method includes establishing a communication link with the external device by using a first application, and displaying a first window that corresponds to the first application, in response to an execution request for a second application that is different from the first application, displaying a second window that corresponds to the second application as a background of the first window, receiving a sharing mode request via the first window, and in response to the sharing mode request, setting an operation mode of the device as a sharing mode, and transmitting data that is provided from the second application to the external device via the communication link.

Abstract: The invention comprises a system and method using a software application (“app”) running on portable computing devices to download presentations from a central server as thumbnails and manipulate the presentations in thumbnail format. The thumbnails can provide a storybook-type presentation that takes much less memory on a portable device than full native presentation format files. With the thumbnail file, the portable device user can move from slide to slide, reorder slides, delete slides, add slides from other thumbnail files, and add notes/text. After a new presentation is created using one or more thumbnail files, it may be uploaded to a central server where a server-side application recompiles the new presentation into a native format presentation from the thumbnail format. In this manner, presentations can be sourced from virtually anywhere and using nearly any computing device from which one can view thumbnail presentations. Other variations and enhancements are disclosed.

In response to detecting the user input selecting the first message region, and in accordance with a determination that the user input satisfies second input criteria, the device replaces display of the conversation view with a message view that corresponds to the first message.

Abstract: A contextual file manager is described herein. Contextual information regarding files and folders of a file system of an operating system is collected. The contextual information may be collected from a variety of different sources, such as contents of the file or folder, an application associated with the file, a service provider, or a cloud storage service. The contextual information is then exposed in a file system interface of the operating system along with representations of the files and folders. In some cases, the contextual information is exposed in response to detection of an intuitive user action to a representation of one of the files or folders via the file system interface.

Abstract: An example method involves providing an interface that simultaneously displays an indication of a respective volume corresponding to each of at least two zone players and displays a respective selectable icon corresponding to each of the at least two zone players. Each respective selectable icon indicates whether the corresponding zone player has been selected for a group, and at least one of the respective selectable icons indicates that a respective zone player has been selected for the group. The interface further displays an indication of a group volume associated with the at least one selected zone player. The method further includes receiving a command to change at least one of a respective volume of one or more of the at least one selected zone player or the group volume, and transmitting an indication of the received command to one or more of the at least one selected zone player.
