Abstract: A display apparatus includes: a display device; a touch panel for sensing movement of an input object; a storage storing data representating images; and a controller. Images are displayed on the display device so as to be arranged in an arrangement order. The controller calculates a moving amount for moving the images, in response to movement of the input object. When the images are movable by the calculated moving amount in a moving direction commanded, the controller moves the images displayed on the display device, by the calculated moving amount in the moving direction. When the images are not movable in the moving direction by the calculated moving amount, the controller changes a display manner of the images and display the images in the changed display manner.

Abstract: Disclosed is a character inputting method, device and an intelligent terminal, the method including: when a virtual key in a virtual on-screen keyboard layout is selected, invoking a first probability statistical table matching at least one character having been displayed by at least one virtual key having been selected; displaying a part of the candidate characters with the highest combination probabilities or all of the candidate characters in the invoked first probability statistical table respectively on virtual keys in the virtual on-screen keyboard layout, and resetting focus on a preset virtual key, wherein any candidate character displayed on a virtual key configured with higher level has higher combination probability; and performing operations above periodically until an ideogram or a character sequence to be input is selected, and inputting the selected ideogram or the character sequence selected in an input area.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to identifying entities in content, highlighting the identified entities, and displaying an interactive chat session based on a selected entity. The interactive chat session and the content may be displayed in the same browser window. The interactive chat session may be overlaid on top of the content, inserted inline into the content, or otherwise embedded within the content. The content and the interactive chat session may both remain active in the browser window, enabling a user to conveniently read and chat about the content. The topic of the interactive chat session may be automatically selected from a hierarchical taxonomy of chat session topics, or the user may select the topic from one or more provided taxonomies.

Abstract: A system has a contactless user-interface through which a user controls a functionality of the system. The contactless user-interface has a detector sub-system and a user-feedback sub-system. The contactless user-interface has an alert mode and a control mode. In the alert mode, the user-feedback sub-system has a display monitor to provide a visible acknowledgement to the user, in response to the detector sub-system having detected the presence of the user within a an alert range. The contactless user-interface transitions from the alert mode to the control mode in response to the detector sub-system detecting an initialization gesture of the user. In the control mode, the contactless user-interface controls the functionality in response to the detector subsystem detecting a control gesture of the user. The visible acknowledgement is made to mirror the movements of the user.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting data to an external device are provided. The method includes establishing a communication link with the external device by using a first application, and displaying a first window that corresponds to the first application, in response to an execution request for a second application that is different from the first application, displaying a second window that corresponds to the second application as a background of the first window, receiving a sharing mode request via the first window, and in response to the sharing mode request, setting an operation mode of the device as a sharing mode, and transmitting data that is provided from the second application to the external device via the communication link.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating characterizing a computing device or representation thereof. An example method includes obtaining information associated with a computing device that will be rendering a user interface display screen; providing a user option to adjust the information; and displaying the user interface display screen in accordance with adjusted information. In a more specific embodiment, the method further includes selectively transferring the adjusted information from a client device to a server. A browser of the client device may display a form factor drop down menu that facilitates user specification of a form factor of a computing device. The user specification facilitates displaying an emulation of the computing device or otherwise facilitates adjusting a user interface display screen to be rendered.

Abstract: Technology is presented for providing feedback to a user on an ability of an executing application to track user action for control of the executing application on a computer system. A capture system detects a user in a capture area. Factors in the capture area and the user's actions can adversely affect the ability of the application to determine if a user movement is a gesture which is a control or instruction to the application. One example of such factors is a user being out of the field of view of the capture system. Some other factor examples include lighting conditions and obstructions in the capture area. Responsive to a user tracking criteria not being satisfied, feedback is output to the user. In some embodiments, the feedback is provided within the context of an executing application.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method for constructing a home screen thereof are provided. the method includes recognizing an editing gesture input with regard to a selected application icon, activating an editing mode in response to the editing gesture input, displaying an application list corresponding to the selected application icon in the editing mode, recognizing a selection of at least one of graphical components including widgets and icons, arranged in the displayed application list, and displaying the at least one selected graphical component on at least one page of the home screen.

Abstract: A method of selecting interconnection products using a computer-based interconnection selection tool, the method comprising: (a) providing an image to a user, the image depicting multiple interconnections, each interconnection having a referenced interconnection level; (b) receiving a selected interconnection level of interest; (c) providing at least one interconnection prompt corresponding to a given interconnection level of interest; (d) receiving at least one response to the interconnection prompt; (e) providing interconnection options responsive to the at least one response; (f) receiving at least one product selection from the interconnection options and storing the product selection to a list; (g) optionally reiterating steps (c)-(g) until a prompt is provided in step (c) for each level of a group of interconnection levels or the user terminates the process; and (h) after step (g) or the user terminates the process, providing the list to the user.

Abstract: An approach to generating a context for translating strings for a graphical user interface. The approach includes a computer receiving a string to be translated and associated source code, the string identified by a unique key within the associated source code and the associated source code is markup language. The computer identifies a first logical section of the associated source code corresponding to a unique key of the string and one or more graphical user interface components within the identified logical section of the associated source code. The computer then creates a mockup image presenting the one or more graphical user interface components and the string. The computer then labels, in the created mockup image, each of the one or more graphical user interface components and the first string of the plurality of strings, and identifies one or more additional graphical user interface components.

Abstract: A configuration method is provided. The method includes receiving a command for configuring touch screen functions associated with scrolling through a video file in a forward direction or a reverse direction at various speeds dependent on a direction and distance of movement of a touch screen gesture performed by a user. A movement distance of the touch screen gesture in a forward direction is associated with a first specified number of video frames of the video file and a forward scrolling speed is determined. An additional movement distance of the touch screen gesture in a reverse direction is associated with a second specified number of video frames of the video file and a reverse scrolling speed is determined. In response, a scrolling process is enabled.

Abstract: An automated testing system is described for efficient testing of software applications. Locators are used by the test to find user interface elements in an application's graphical user interface during testing. If during a test a user interface element is not found, which may be due to a changed locator during code refactoring, the system finds the user interface element based on the element's type and on previously stored information about the element. Such information can be a snapshot image of the element, the coordinates of the element's location, dimensions of the element, or other information. Once the missing element is found, a new locator for the element is read and the test is performed using the new locator.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a transparent display or a mobile terminal which allows images of objects positioned on the rear of the mobile terminal to be displayed on a display unit like the transparent display does and a control method for the same. The mobile terminal includes: a main body having a front portion and a rear portion; a transparent display unit located on the front of the main body and allowing images of objects positioned on the rear of the main body to be at least partially transmitted through; and a controller that, when at least one region of the transparent display unit is selected, controls the transparent display unit to make the image data displayed in the region overlap a semi-transmissive area corresponding to the one region.

Abstract: During setup of a display content on a display panel of a display apparatus a method for providing a selection option is performed which involves the display of a temporary display content at a temporary position on the display panel, the display content having at least one selection option.
