Abstract: According to one example of the present invention there is provided a method of printing, with a printer, an image on a substrate, the printer comprising a substrate support. The method comprises obtaining an image to be printed, determining an offset position of a substrate positioned on the substrate support relative to a predetermined reference printing position, and controlling the printer to print the image to be printed at the determined offset position.

Abstract: The invention includes a print terminal that prints input image data and outputs the input image data as a print image, and an image storage server that is connected to the print terminal via a public network, and that stores the image data sent from the print terminal and user identification information. The print terminal creates, out of the print image, user identification information based on photographing location information and photographing date/time information included as data in a user identification information image specified by the user. In a case where the print terminal receives a re-input of image data of the user identification information image, the print terminal resends user identification information to the image storage server. In a case where an image directory including the resent user identification information internally exists, the image storage server sends the image data in the image directory to the print terminal.

Abstract: A specification part of an information processing device specifies, by using image data for a correction chart defining a plurality of patch regions having different color values, a target characteristic indicating a relation between the color value and a first colorimetric value of a first patch image as a laminated image of a special color image and a colored image that correspond to each of the patch regions formed by the device through the 2-path printing. A generation part of the device generates a correction table for correcting the color value so that a measured characteristic comes close to the target characteristic, the measured characteristic indicating a relation between the color value and a second colorimetric value of a second patch image as the laminated image corresponding to each of the patch regions formed by the device through the 1-path printing using the image data for a correction chart.

Abstract: A server connected to an image processing device over a network, executes: running an application that operates in cooperation with the image processing device; obtaining screen information to use the application from the application based on a request from an external device; outputting the screen information to the external device; detecting an error on the image processing device with which the application operates in cooperation; and adding error information to access an error screen constructed by the image processing device to the screen information when the error on the image processing device is detected. The server outputs the screen information with added the error information to the external device when the error information is added to the screen information.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at a user's site, and a faxing system that may be deployed remotely from the user's site. The fax connector can be accessed at the user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at the user's site communicates with the remotely deployed faxing system to send, receive, obtain status on, or perform other functions associated with, faxing.

Abstract: An input/output device that provides a device cooperation service is connected to an input/output service apparatus that provides an input/output service and a computer system that provides a storage service via a network. The input/output device includes a processor configured to execute a program stored in a memory to implement processes of acquiring use restriction information for restricting designation of a condition in a request to the input/output service from the input/output device, and restricting designation of the condition in the request to the input/output service from the input/output device by reflecting the acquired use restriction information on a device cooperation service screen for enabling a user to designate the condition in the request.

Abstract: A technique that guarantees update of a program of a finisher unit while preventing a malfunction thereof from being caused by erroneous attachment thereof to a printing apparatus. Hardware identification information is acquired from the finisher unit. When it is determined based on the acquired hardware identification information that the finisher unit is compatible with a program of the apparatus, program identification information is acquired from the optional unit, for determining based thereon whether a program of the finisher unit program is associated with the program of the printing apparatus. If the programs are associated with each other, the versions there are compared. If the versions are not compatible, the program of the finisher unit is updated to a version compatible with the version of the program of the printing apparatus.

Abstract: In a print server for digital high-capacity printing systems, print jobs are received, processed with predetermined application processes, and relayed to one or more printers. A method to operate the print server can include monitoring, using a collect trigger, status parameters which describe system statuses; and triggering, using trigger logic, filters to reading additional status parameters that include process statuses of application processes executed at the print server. The triggering of the filters can be based on whether the system statuses monitored with the collect trigger represent an extraordinary or abnormal operating status.
