Abstract: This invention relates to compositions useful in a limited oxygen system characterized by containing at least one of the following:(1) sulfur-oxygen phosphates(2) quaternaries(3) polyphosphate esters(4) cyclic amidines(5) trithiones.Where the limited oxygen system is aqueous and sour the above compositions (1), (2) and (3) are preferred.Where the limited oxygen system is sour and hydrocarbon/aqueous the above compositions (1), (2) and (4) are preferred.Where the limited oxygen system is sweet and aqueous the above compositions (1) and (3) are preferred.Where the limited oxygen system is sweet and hydrocarbon/aqueous the above compositions (3), (4) and (5) are preferred.
Abstract: Methods and compositions for bleaching and removal of mycological stain are disclosed. The method includes the step of contacting the mycological stain with the composition which includes an improved thixotropic, hypohalite bleach having fumed silica therein. Unexpected potentiation of the composition with respect to bleaching of mycological stain is found.
Abstract: A luminaire apparatus includes a housing having a source of radiant energy mounted therein, a rotatable light transmitting member supported at one side of the housing and reflector means. The reflector means consists of a stationary reflector body and expansible reflector means for controlling the configuration of radiation energy projected through the light transmitting member located between the stationary reflector body and the light transmitting member. In one desirable form the stationary reflector body is provided with a specular surface which projects reflected light in a spot configuration while the expansible reflector means is provided with light diffusing surfaces which are operable to progressively modify the spot configuration to provide a flood configuration.
Abstract: A means for providing illumination for a bicycle, tricycle, moped, motorcycle or other velocipede, said illumination means being removable from said vehicle when not in use. The light fixture thus provided is detachably mounted to the handlebars of existing bicycles and serves to illuminate both the rider and the path traveled.
Abstract: Lighting apparatus having less than the conventional number of light sources, but which provides illumination substantially equivalent to the illumination provided by the conventional apparatus, thereby providing savings in energy consumption and in cost of operation. Part of the light output of the light sources which are provided is reflected to illuminate areas of the diffuser plate which are illuminated by additional light sources in conventional apparatus, whereby it appears that a full number of light sources are provided when in fact less than a full number of light sources are provided.
Abstract: A glass composition for effecting crosslinking of a polycarboxylic acid cement and cement compositions formed therefrom. The glass is of the aluminoborate type and comprises 40 to 75 mole % boric oxide, not more than 60 mole % zinc oxide, not more than 50 mole % calcium oxide and not more than 20 mole % alumina. Cements formed from the glasses have a wide range of applications including structural cements, dental filler and orthopaedic cements.

Abstract: A method of storing a solid chlorinating agent with improved storage performance involving placing the solid chlorinating agent and a storage stabilizer such as calcium oxide, trisodium phosphate, magnesium oxide, ferrous oxide, melamine, ammeline or ammelide in a closed container in a manner that the stabilizer contacts the noxious gases in the same container but not with the solid chlorinating agent in the same container. An article for storing the same is composed of a closed container in which the solid chlorinating agent is placed together with the storage stabilizer in such a manner that the gases are brought into contact with the storage stabilizer.
Abstract: Light mounting tapes receiving electric light sockets of the type commonly used for Christmas decorations are provided in elastic form so that they may be stretched as desired between mounting fasteners, as for example around a door or window frame. The tapes provide a plurality of receptacles along their lengths. The tapes can be furnished in segmented lengths and easily secured together in series to provide a desired overall length. The elastic properties of the tapes facilitate stretching them into taut condition for fixedly positioning the electric lights mounted in the receptacles thereof.
