Abstract: Disclosed herein attachment mechanisms and methods of using the same. The attachment mechanism includes a first connector, a second connector, and a coupling positioned between and coupled to each of the first and second connectors. The first connector is adapted to be mounted to a stable or unstable base. The second connector is adapted to be mounted to a body-secured or gripped object. The coupling is adapted for free 360° rotation relative to at least one of the first and second connectors without decoupling therefrom. A method of using an attachment mechanism includes mounting a coupling to a first connector and mounting the coupling to a second connector opposite the first connector. The coupling is adapted for free 360° rotation relative to at least one of the first and second connectors without decoupling therefrom.

Abstract: A switch clasp has a first part and a second part. The second part has a first set of zip teeth and the first part has a complementary set of zip teeth. A sensor is responsive to engagement and disengagement of the first and second parts to switch from a first condition to a second condition and a signal corresponding to the condition is output. The sensor includes a first section of conductive track connected to a first conductive tooth of the set of zip teeth and a second section of conductive track connected to a second conductive tooth of the complementary set of zip teeth. The zip pull connects the first conductive tooth to the second conductive tooth to electrically connect the first section of conductive track to the second section of conductive track when connecting the set of zip teeth to the complementary set of zip teeth.

A termination is at one or both of the free ends of at least a portion of the plurality of elements. An item is selectively attachable to the connector. In certain implementations, a slidable element is mounted to at least one of the elements which is manually movable to reveal or conceal an attached item.

Abstract: An adjustable-length stretch cord system has a connector and a stretch cord. The position of the connector along the stretch cord can be adjusted so as to adjust the effective length of the stretch cord. The connector has a primary path through which the stretch cord can slide during adjustment. A secondary path is also defined within the connector and parallel to the primary path. A cleat between the primary path and secondary path receives and compresses the cord as the cord turns about 180° in the cleat. The secondary path can have teeth that can engage and block sliding of the cord toward the cleat. The secondary path can also have grip that holds the cord.

Abstract: A jewelry item that includes a plurality of separate links that are supported by a common substrate and in which the links are representative of the DNA lineage of the wearer of the jewelry item.
