  • Patent number: 6644521
Abstract: A shoulder support for garments hung on a wire hanger is a generally unitary member made of a resilient material. The shoulder support has a center section and a pair of spaced shoulder sections connected at one end to the center section and extending in opposite directions. The center section has a front wall and a back wall disposed in spaced relation to define an opening. A releasable locking connector assembly is formed on the front wall for operative connection to the wire hanger for the garment. The shoulder support can be constructed from rigid plastic material, or optionally, flexible plastic material which will allow the shoulder support to narrow, squeeze or collapse when subjected to compressive forces during the storage or stacking of the garments assembled on the hanger, and when the compressive forces are removed, will expand to its original shape for protecting the garment from distortion and creasing.

  • Patent number: 6637061
Abstract: The tool assembly includes a main metal body with three sockets respectively receiving the short legs of three differently-sized L-shaped wrenches. In stowed positions, the long legs of the wrenches lie against one side of the body in a nested configuration, the uppermost wrench being engageable with a retaining tab on the body to prevent movement of the wrenches axially of the sockets. The wrenches are pivotally movable about the axes of the sockets to unstowed positions, wherein they are movable axially of the sockets to either a removed condition, separated from the body, or a locked condition seated deeper in the sockets and retained against rotation. Dovetail-shaped tongues on opposite sides of the main body are respectively receivable in dovetail-shaped grooves on tire levers to mount the levers on the body, one of the levers holding the wrenches in their stowed positions. An O-ring encircles the parts of the assembly to provide additional retention.

  • Patent number: 6637060
Abstract: A pair of pliers for connecting a telephone line connector. The pliers have a compression connecting block connected with a limiting pin inserted in a limiting hole preferably of a triangular shape on one handle of the pliers. The upper edge of the limiting hole has an abutting edge bevel relative to a push guiding edge of the limiting hole. When the abutting edge contacts and presses the limiting pin, the contact point therebetween is located next to the center of the limiting pin towards the direction of an action force such that the component force of a resisting force from the center of the limiting pin towards the contact point is at the same side as that of the action force. Thus, the horizontal component force of the action force can be reduced; and the abrasion that the horizontal force component may cause on the guiding groove can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6634259
Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus and method for controlling a power tong unit having a power spinner and, in a preferred embodiment, three power jaws. The control system controls grip pressure applied by a selected power jaw to a first wellbore tubular to provide a relatively reduced grip pressure when the power spinner is activated to thereby rotate a second wellbore tubular at a relatively high rotation speed but with a relatively low torque. The control system applies a relatively high grip pressure to two selected power jaws used for applying high torque but at a relatively slow rotation speed for final making up or initial breaking out of the wellbore tubulars with respect to each other.

  • Patent number: 6634260
Abstract: A tool for adjusting extremely tight lug nuts, such as often found on tractor-trailer trucks, consists of a socket wrench pulled by a screw and anchored against another lug nut coaxial to the one being adjusted. A hand crank turns the screw, which in turn pulls the handle of the socket wrench toward the anchor yielding very high torque multiplication. The tool is elongated and shaped to permit its use in the tight space found in the annular recess surrounding the hubs of most truck wheels.

  • Patent number: 6629982
Abstract: A three-pin skull clamp includes a C-shaped frame which partially encircles the head of the patient, with a spring-loaded single skull pin assembly located at one end of the frame and adapted to engage the head of the patient with a desired engagement force, and two spaced skull pins mounted to a rocker arm located at an opposite end of the frame. Each of the rocker arm skull pins resides in operative contact with an indicator cap held by a spring-loaded pin carrier assembly, the indicator cap being movable relative to the rest of the pin carrier assembly in response to the engagement force applied to the corresponding skull pin by the head of the patient. By visibly comparing the positions of the indicator caps relative to their respective pin carrier assemblies, one can readily determine whether the engagement forces are equally distributed between the two rocker arm skull pins.
