  • Patent number: 9782986
Abstract: Print head for black material is arranged such that the black material is to be ejected later than cyan, magenta, and yellow materials on both of forward and backward strokes, and the print heads for the cyan, magenta, and yellow materials are arranged in tandem in a main-scanning direction. The first processing unit converts input image data into CMY image data and then performs black generation and undercolor removal on the CMY image data, to obtain CMYK image data. The second processing unit converts CMY image data excluding K image data from the CMYK image data into image data for use in printing in the backward direction. The on/off switching unit switches between causing and not causing the second processing unit to covert the CMY image data depending on which one of printing in the forward stroke and printing in the backward stroke is to be performed.

  • Patent number: 9714354
Abstract: An active ray-curable inkjet ink which contains a photocurable compound, a photopolymerization initiator, a gelling agent and a non-polymerizable liquid compound that is in a liquid state at 25° C., with the liquid compound being contained in an amount of 15-50% by mass relative to the mass of the ink. Since droplets of this active ray-curable inkjet ink are prevented from combining with each other after landing, this active ray-curable inkjet ink is capable of providing high quality images. Meanwhile, the surface gloss of printed images is increased, and printed images having less coating film thickness difference (namely, less relief-like texture) can be formed.

  • Patent number: 9694598
Abstract: Printing heads of combinations of four ink colors and seven printing characteristic ranks are previously used to print an image for measurement, and table parameters corresponding to all of the combinations of nozzle ink colors and printing characteristic ranks are obtained on the basis of a measurement result of this image for measurement and stored in a memory. Then, when printing is actually performed in a printer, a primary color image for measurement is printed for each nozzle of a printing head for each of four ink colors. A printing characteristic rank for each nozzle is obtained for each of four ink colors based on a measurement result of this image for measurement, and a table parameter is selected that corresponds to the same combination as the combination of the obtained printing characteristic rank of each nozzle of four ink colors, by referring to the memory.

  • Patent number: 9625414
Abstract: A diagnostic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) procedure is applied to measure values of impedance-related parameters for one or more sensing electrodes. The parameters may include real impedance, imaginary impedance, impedance magnitude, and/or phase angle. The measured values of the impedance-related parameters are then used in performing sensor diagnostics, calculating a highly-reliable fused sensor glucose value based on signals from a plurality of redundant sensing electrodes, calibrating sensors, detecting interferents within close proximity of one or more sensing electrodes, and testing surface area characteristics of electroplated electrodes. Advantageously, impedance-related parameters can be defined that are substantially glucose-independent over specific ranges of frequencies. An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) enables implementation of the EIS-based diagnostics, fusion algorithms, and other processes based on measurement of EIS-based parameters.
