  • Patent number: 9469123
Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus and an inkjet printing method capable of suppressing generation of bronze phenomenon regardless of the color gamut are provided. For this purpose, in multipass printing, more pixels permitted to print by at least one type of achromatic color ink than pixels permitted to print by chromatic color ink in the last print scan to a unit region are set. Accordingly, it becomes possible to apply achromatic color ink having a high bronze phenomenon reduction effect on the topmost layer of the print medium, and thereby generation of bronze phenomenon can be suppressed without any hue shift.

  • Patent number: 9357958
Abstract: A diagnostic Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) procedure is applied to measure values of impedance-related parameters for one or more sensing electrodes. The parameters may include real impedance, imaginary impedance, impedance magnitude, and/or phase angle. The measured values of the impedance-related parameters are then used in performing sensor diagnostics, calculating a highly-reliable fused sensor glucose value based on signals from a plurality of redundant sensing electrodes, calibrating sensors, detecting interferents within close proximity of one or more sensing electrodes, and testing surface area characteristics of electroplated electrodes. Advantageously, impedance-related parameters can be defined that are substantially glucose-independent over specific ranges of frequencies. An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) enables implementation of the EIS-based diagnostics, fusion algorithms, and other processes based on measurement of EIS-based parameters.

  • Patent number: 9242468
Abstract: In an inkjet printer, a cap part for receiving ink from a head unit during maintenance includes a liquid receiving part and an exhaust part disposed laterally to the liquid receiving part. In the liquid receiving part, a second liquid receiving chamber is disposed further from the exhaust part than is a first liquid receiving part. A second flow path is disposed below the first liquid receiving chamber without passing through the first liquid receiving chamber. In the exhaust part, a first fan part is connected to the first liquid receiving chamber, and a second fan part is connected to the second liquid receiving chamber through the second flow path. Accordingly, it is possible to appropriately exhaust a gas contained within the second liquid receiving chamber, independently of the first liquid receiving chamber. Consequently, a mist in the liquid receiving part can be discharged efficiently.

  • Patent number: 9174452
Abstract: A print unit prints by ejecting fluid droplets from a plurality of nozzles while moving in a primary scanning direction relative to a print medium. An ejection inspection unit inspects fluid droplet ejection by a group of target nozzles, which are part of an ejection nozzle subset obtained by dividing the nozzles according to the number of nozzles required to form the smallest printing width in the secondary scanning direction. A control unit controls the print unit and the ejection inspection unit, and selects the group of target nozzles in the ejection nozzle subset and performs the ejection inspection each time a specific amount of printing is completed.
