    Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses are described that enable customized transmission of a system information message. One or more transmission characteristics of the system information message are tailored for a particular user equipment (UE) device or a group of UE devices. In one aspect, a response frequency used to transmit the system information message is customized based on a requested frequency of the UE device. In another aspect, a beamform pattern used to transmit the system information message is customized based on an angle to the UE device. In general, these customizations increase an amplitude of the system information message at the UE device, which increases an effective range of the system information message and enables a larger quantity of UE devices to establish communication with a base station. The customization also enables the base station to efficiently transmit the system information message to one or more UE devices.

A method can provide, at a computer environment, including a network fabric, one or more subnets, each of which subnets are associated with one or more network switches or hosts. The system and method is compatible with legacy switches and nodes that are not conversant with the ISRNs.

The WU payload including an indication of the function and a control indication usable to select the length from the predetermined set of lengths corresponding to the function. The first wireless device transmits the WU packet by transmitting the Legacy preamble on the first bandwidth and then transmitting the WU payload on the second bandwidth. A second wireless device receives the WU payload and determines a length of the WU packet using the indication of the function and the control information.
