  • Patent number: 11328010
Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein use acoustic features of a music track to capture information for a recommendation system. The recommendation can work without analyzing label data (e.g., genre, artist) or usage data for a track. For each audio track, a descriptor is generated that can be used to compare the track to other tracks. The comparisons between track descriptors result in a similarity measure that can be used to make a recommendation. In this process, the audio descriptors are used directly to form a track-to-track similarity measure between tracks. By measuring the similarity between a track that a user is known to like and an unknown track, a decision can be made whether to recommend the unknown track to the user.

  • Patent number: 11313862
Abstract: The method for aiding ALS detection provided by the present invention includes determining a profile of signal peptides contained in a bodily fluid from a test subject, and comparing the signal peptide profile thus determined for the test subject with a previously-determined profile of signal peptides in a bodily fluid from a healthy subject. The presence of a difference between the signal peptide profile of the test subject and the signal peptide profile of the healthy subject at a specific molecular weight is then associated with the test subject's suffering from or developing ALS.

  • Patent number: 11308101
Abstract: An activity of interest is modeled by a non-stationary discrete stochastic process, such as a pattern of mutations across a cancer genome. Initially, input genomic data is used to train a model to predict rate parameters and their associated uncertainty estimation for each of a set of process regions. For any arbitrary set of indexed positions of the stochastic process that are identified in an information query, the rate parameters and their associated estimation uncertainties are scaled using the model to obtain a distribution of the events of interest and their associated estimation uncertainties for the set of indexed positions. In one practical application, and in response to a search query associated with one or more base-pairs, a result is then returned. The result, which represents deviations between the estimated and observed mutation rates, is used to identify genomic elements that have more mutations than expected and therefore constitute previously unknown driver mutations.

  • Patent number: 11309058
Abstract: Techniques are described for determining the strain on a cell wall using two models: 1) a short timescale model, describing the relationship between physical properties assumed to be fixed and 2) a long timescale model, describing the dynamic chemical composition of a cell wall. Short term modeling of the physical properties in a cell wall is used to properly understand how physical factors such as osmotic pressure affects the strain on the cell wall, which is in turn used to identify conditions under which a cell wall will cease to function properly or lyse entirely. Although temporally the physical properties which cause cell walls to underperform/lyse can be evaluated under a short time frame, the chemical properties that lead to the physical properties which cause that behavior themselves change over much longer timescales, in a relative sense.

  • Patent number: 11250043
Abstract: This disclosure relates to analyzing log data of a system. This comprises evaluating a first graph model with multiple log events in the log data. The first graph model comprises a first set of nodes connected by a first set of edges representing a first behaviour. A processor determines a first correspondence value based on the first graph model and indicative of a correspondence between the multiple log events and the first behaviour. The processor repeats the steps of evaluating the first graph model for one or more further graph models representing one or more further behaviors and determining the first correspondence value to determine one or more further correspondence values. The processor finally determines a classification of the multiple log events as representing one of the behaviors based on the correspondence values. The use of multiple graph models allows a more granular classification than binary intrusion detection.

  • Patent number: 11249988
Abstract: A database platform receives an object identifier from a client in association with a database session. The client is associated with a customer account of the database platform, and the database session is associated with the client. In response to receiving the object identifier, the database platform identifies a resolution namespace for the object identifier, where the resolution namespace for the object identifier is a namespace that is specified in the object identifier if the object identifier includes a specified namespace, and where the resolution namespace is otherwise a current account-level namespace of the database session. The database platform resolves the object identifier with reference to the identified resolution namespace for the object identifier, including identifying an object corresponding to the object identifier in the customer account.

  • Patent number: 11216514
Abstract: A secure DNS query may be made by establishing a secure connection with a specific DNS server to determine an address for a hostname. A client device may have a database that may contain a record of a secure DNS server for one or more hostnames. When a DNS request contains one of the specified hostnames, an authenticated session may be created with the designated secure DNS server and a network address for the hostname is returned using the session. The authenticated session may authenticate a client device to the server as well as authenticate the server to the client. In some embodiments, the secure DNS server may accept connections from authenticated clients and may disregard connection requests from non authenticated clients.

  • Patent number: 11183270
Abstract: A system and machine-implemented method for sorting Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) reads in O(n) time and space complexity that makes use low sparsity and nearly uniform distribution of the input array. The genome position field in the input array is used to determine the target position of the output array. Duplicate target positions due to n-fold coverage are handled by assigning either overflow buckets to each position or anterior assigning multiple target slots in the output array for each genome position depending on the distribution of reads over the genome and the resulting probability of hitting an already occupied slot. Once every tuple in the input array has been written to the output array, the output array in read through ascending order and each tuple is appended to the end of a final result array.
