Abstract: A method for the formation of images comprising: (1) feeding a photoconductive toner, having a particle diameter of on the average 6 .mu.m or less, to a conductive substrate to form a toner layer of 1 to 8 layers on said conductive substrate, (2) uniformly charging said toner layer, and (3) exposing said toner layer to form an electrostatic latent image thereon corresponding to the original.
Abstract: Disclosed is a two-component developer composition enabling smudge resistant images which is comprised of improved two-component contamination free developer composition comprised of (1) magnetite; (2) a polyester resin comprised of the polymeric esterification product of a dicarboxylic acid and a diol comprising a diphenol of the following formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from substituted and unsubstituted alkylene radicals of from about 2 to about 12 carbon atoms, alkylidene radicals of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and cycloalkylidene radicals of from 3 to 12 carbon atoms; R' and R" are selected from substituted and unsubstituted alkylene radicals of from 2 to 12 carbon atoms, alkylene arylene radicals of from 8 to 12 carbon atoms and arylene radicals; X and X' are selected from hydrogen or any alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and each n is a number of from 0 (zero) to 4; and (3) carrier particles.
Abstract: A toner for developing latent electrostatic images comprising particles is disclosed, which is composed of a mixture of a colorant and/or magnetic material, a binder agent and a charge controlling agent of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each represent an unsubstituted or substituted aryl group; and X represents an anionic functional group.
Abstract: Compounds of formula (1) ##STR1## wherein A and B are identical or different alkyl, aralkyl or cycloalkyl groups or carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic radicals, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen atoms or substituents which do not impart solubility in water, are particularly suitable as photoconductive substances.

Abstract: Charge-transporting compounds which form substantially colorless layers having a minimal residual charge and a good cleanability are disclosed. These compounds are of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R1, R2, and R3, individually, represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Also disclosed is a photoconductive element containing a charge-generating compound and a charge-transporting compound of the general formula shown above which is homogeneously distributed in a binder. The charge-transporting compounds of the general formula are very soluble in various solvents and film-forming polymers providing for great maneuverability in processing the compounds into layers.

Abstract: The electrophotographic element comprising mounting on an electrically conductive substrate a Se-Te-Cl alloy system photoconductive layer which contains Te in the range of 6 to 12 wt. % of Se, Cl in the range of 10 to 30 ppm of the total amount of Se and Te and O.sub.2 as impurity 10 ppm or less of the whole alloy, is superior especially in temperature and light fatigue characteristics.
Abstract: A dry developer for developing electrostatic latent images comprises a positive charge type carrier and a negative charge type toner. The negative charge type toner includes, as after-treating agents, fine particles of hydrophobic silica in an amount of 0.05-1.0 percent by weight relative to the toner and fine particles of hydrophobic titanium oxide in an amount of 0.1-3.0 percent by weight relative to the toner, the fine particles of hydrophobic silica and the fine particles of hydrophobic titanium oxide being contained in a weight ratio of 1:5 to 1:1.

Abstract: A developer for electrostatography containing a positive charge controlling agent comprising fumed silica particles treated with a silane coupling agent or titanate coupling agent and controlled to an appropriate degree of hydrophobicity has a stable and sharp distribution in amount of positive triboelectric charges under a variety of conditions including higher temperature-higher humidity or lower temperature-lower humidity conditions. Abstract: In an electrophotographic photosensitive member having a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer formed by a dip-coating method, a length (H) expressed by the formula ##EQU1## of the charge generation layer is substantially the same as that of a film thickness changing portion of the charge transport layer (where V(t) represents an accelerating velocity from a velocity V1 to a velocity V2, and a substrate is pulled up at the velocity V1 until a time T1 has elapsed (t=T1) after the pulling up operation was started (t=0), is pulled up upon increasing the velocity from V1 to V2 until a time T2 has elapsed (t=T2) after the time T1, and thereafter is pulled up at the velocity V2 until a coating operation is completed after the time T2).

Abstract: Disclosed is a method of making a color filter for a solid state imaging device involving forming plural, spaced apart transparent electroconductive layers, insulated from one another, on a substrate and a layer of light absorbing material in the spaces between the spaced-apart layers. Co-electrodeposition of a coloring material and a polymer is used to deposit a colored layer on the electroconductive layers.
