  • Patent number: 7412349
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for an interface that generates a report including a series of load test results. An interface can generate such a report that includes a series of load test results by initiating load testing of a first and second application during a first and second test run, and initiating combining of test results of the first and second test runs. The report can individually characterize the test results as members of a series of test runs. Load testing and combining of test results can be initiated at a single interface.

  • Patent number: 7412334
Abstract: A mass spectrometer comprises an ion detector, an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter, a sample adjuster, and an adder. The A/D converter is configured to receive and sample an analog signal from the ion detector thereby providing a plurality of samples. The adder is configured to sum the samples, and the summed samples define a mass spectrum. The sample adjuster is configured to identify a peak defined by the samples and to suppress at least one of the samples of the peak such that a resolution of a peak within the mass spectrum is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7412355
Abstract: A Logic Analyzer has an intuitive and informative analog presentation of signal activity and threshold settings formed by gathering a collection of factors pertaining to the measurement to be performed, such as information about which channels are members of labeled collections. A scan of signal activity is performed for each assigned channel as its threshold is briefly swept. This produces a range of voltage that describes that signal's signal activity. For each Probe Pod these ranges are then displayed in columns as adjacent vertical segments of a voltage swing Y axis along a channels-within-a-probe-pod X axis. The Y axis is labeled with actual voltage values. Superimposed upon this analog style display is a horizontal line indicating the associated threshold for that Probe Pod. Further annotations include channel identifiers and signal activity indicators whose shapes connote recurring transitions and signals that appear to be ‘stuck’ either HIGH or LOW.

  • Patent number: 7412348
Abstract: A game system includes a game apparatus and a controller. The controller is furnished with an acceleration sensor for detecting accelerations in at least two axis directions. Game processing corresponding to the kind of an acceleration input by means of the controller is executed. For determining the kind, reference timing when acceleration in a first-axis direction is below a threshold value to take on a minimum value is detected. Then, it is determined whether or not an angle between acceleration change vectors before and after the reference timing is equal to or more than a predetermined angle. When the angle is not equal to or more than the predetermined angle, it is determined that the acceleration input is an acceleration input in any one of the two-axis directions, and when the angle is equal to or more than the predetermined angle, it is determined that the acceleration input is an acceleration input in a direction including the two-axis directions as components.

  • Patent number: 7412347
Abstract: An apparatus and corresponding method measure physical parameters using a plurality of low-cost sensors coupled in series is provided. These sensors can be thermal sensors for measuring the temperature of a heating pad. Different types of sensors to measure temperature, moisture, pressure, or state change of a switch may be employed. Such sensors may be distributed throughout a building to concurrently monitor multiple physical parameters at numerous locations. The sensors are easily manufactured, thus reducing sensor cost. Costs are further reduced by the use of two wires to connect the series of sensors. Moreover, the wires can be run easily through conduit or cable troughs.

  • Patent number: 7412343
Abstract: Systems and methods for delay-fault testing field programmable gate arrays (FPGA's), applicable both for off-line manufacturing and system-level testing, as well as for on-line testing within the framework of the roving self-test area (STARs) approach are described. In one described method, two or more paths under test receive a test pattern approximately simultaneously. The two paths are substantially identical and thus should propagate the signal in approximately the same amount of time. An output response analyzer receives the signal from each of the paths and determines the interval between them, and then determines whether a delay fault has occurred based at least in part on the interval. The output response analyzer may include an oscillator and a counter. The oscillator generates an oscillating signal during the interval between when the test signal propagates through the first path and the last path under test.

  • Patent number: 7409299
Abstract: Spectra data collected from a mixture defines an n-dimensional data space (n is the number of data points), and application of PCA techniques yields a subset of m-eigenvectors that effectively describe all variance in that data space. Bach member of a library of known components is examined based by representing each library spectrum as a vector in the m-dimensional space. Target factor testing techniques yield an angle between this vector and the data space. Those library members that have the smallest angles are considered to be potential mixture members and are ranked accordingly. Every combination of the top y library members is considered as a potential solution and a multivariate least-squares solution is calculated using the mixture spectra for each of the potential solutions. A ranking algorithm is then applied and used to select the combination that is most likely the set of pure components in the mixture.

  • Patent number: 7409314
Abstract: Provided is a method for monitoring resources in a utility computing environment (UCE). Measurements are evaluated to determine whether or not a particular resource requires remedial or other type of action. A sliding measurement window is employed to assemble a number of measurements corresponding to a particular resource. The number of intervals in a sliding measurement window is based upon best practices corresponding to the resource being measured and analyzed. A first threshold-crossing event and subsequent events are stored until the window is full, or closed. When the window is closed, the threshold-crossing measurements are analyzed to determine whether or not there exists an issue with the resource that requires action. Once a window has been closed and analyzed, the first threshold-crossing event and each subsequent event up to a second threshold-crossing event are discarded and the window reopens.

  • Patent number: 7409301
Abstract: A software-based water level monitoring and control system, preferably for use with conventional steam boilers, is disclosed. The system includes software for monitoring and recording system functions, safety features, diagnostic testing histories, and other functions. The water level system is employed to monitor and/or regulate one or more operating parameters of the boiler, such as water levels within the boiler. In response to the boiler system testing of low-water cut-off, auxillary low-water cut-off, and pressure vessel float operation and functionality, the software builds histories and other data compilations. The extensive electronic information permits a user that accesses the water level control system to, for example, view the data compilations and to monitor the status of the system. In this manner, real-time information, as well as the historical data, are available to accomplish the regulation of key parameters in the boiler.
