Abstract: A method for solving the co-existence problem, a base station, user equipment, and system for performing the method. The method includes: pre-configuring the information for co-existence working mode by a base station of a first communication system for a user equipment, receiving, by the base station of the first communication system from the user equipment in the first communication system, a mode establishing request for indicating the co-existence problem experienced by the user equipment and providing the assistance information for co-existence working mode in which the user equipment performs a first communication with the base station and performs a second communication with an apparatus in a second communication system which is different from the first communication system.
Abstract: This invention relates to switching power saving modes and rescheduling communication frames for various periods of a beacon interval (BI) defined under WGA Draft Specification 0.8 for the personal basic service set (PBSS) and infrastructure BSS to achieve further power savings and other advantages. Stations can be awake during a contention-based period (CBP) if it is in active state and can schedule frames during a service period (SP) to allow the assigned receiver to transmit to the assigned initiator. Stations in a group can schedule a group address frame to be sent during the CBP and group SP of a specific periodic BI. Stations in peer-to-peer connection may directly notify its peer stations of its power saving mode and wakeup schedule. Stations of an infrastructure basic service set (BSS) can also use the same power saving mechanism as stations of a PBSS noting a difference where each BI will be an access point's (AP's) awake BI.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an intermediate device may determine a source route in use from a source to a destination in a reactive routing computer network, and may also determine a request to provide local repair for the source route for duration of a timer set by the source. In response to the request (e.g., and in response to a poor/failed connection), the device may discover a local repair path based on a limited-scope discovery, and maintains the local repair path for the source route until expiration of the timer.
Abstract: Systems and methods of pre-allocating identifiers to wireless devices for use in requesting resources over a random access channel are described. A wireless communication system includes a random access channel over which wireless devices can anonymously send requests for resources. The base stations receiving and processing the anonymous requests reduces the probability of random access channel collisions and conserves the resources needed to support the anonymous requests by pre-allocating one or more identifiers to select wireless devices. The wireless devices having the pre-allocated codes can transmit a particular code over the random access channel as a request for resources that uniquely identifies the requester.

Abstract: A mobile data network includes a breakout appliance at the edge of the mobile data network and an appliance in the core network that includes multiple enclosures. Each appliance has defined interfaces and defined commands on each interface that allow performing all needed functions on the appliances without revealing details regarding the hardware and software used to implement the appliances. An aggregate appliance in the mobile data network defines high-level commands, which each have a corresponding set of steps that are performed when the high-level command is executed. Each step causes one or more of the defined commands to be executed on the breakout appliance and/or the appliance in the core network and/or one a related software entity. This aggregated appliance allows configuring and controlling the breakout appliance and the appliance in the core network in a way that is transparent to most existing components in the mobile data network.

Abstract: Techniques are described for routing data frames using a distributed virtual bridge in a highly integrated networked system. The distributed virtual bridge creates and manages a type of LAG referred to as “unified link aggregation group” (ULAG). Two or more link aggregation groups that span multiple physically-separated switches or chassis (referred to as MLAGs) are unified or aggregated to form a ULAG. Applications view the ULAG as a single logical link, and as long as at least one of the sub links in any of the MLAGs that are part of the ULAG is operational, network connectivity is maintained.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for selectively processing packets using time to live (TTL) information are disclosed. A method for selectively processing packets using TTL information includes receiving, at a test system, a test packet from a device under test (DUT), wherein the test packet includes a TTL parameter field containing a TTL value. The method further includes determining if the TTL value in the test packet is a magic TTL value and performing a processing task on the test packet if the test packet includes the magic TTL value.

Abstract: In a method for cancelling interference caused by a terrestrial transmitter at a satellite receiver in a hybrid satellite-terrestrial network, a satellite receiver generates an interference cancellation signal based on a reference terrestrial signal from the terrestrial transmitter and a received over-the-air (OTA) signal. The satellite receiver then cancels the interference caused by the terrestrial transmitter by combining the interference cancellation signal with the received OTA signal. The interference cancellation signal is a modified version of the reference terrestrial signal.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a device for adjusting the sleep mode of a mobile station in order to solve the problem in current multi-hop relay systems of long time delays in data transmission caused when data packets have to wait for the next listening window to reach the mobile station because of packet errors. Wherein, a relay apparatus judges whether the previous hop network apparatus needs to retransmit data packets to the mobile station; when the previous hop network apparatus needs to retransmit data packets to the mobile station, the relay apparatus transmits to the mobile station the adjustment related information for adjusting the sleep mode of the mobile station. The mobile station adjusts the sleep mode according to the adjustment related information. Preferably, the adjustment related information comprises indicating information for indicating that the mobile station is in triggered listening status within predetermined time interval.
Abstract: An architecture is provided that can scale content resolution in order to mitigate errors in a provisioned service of a communication network, such as a wireless service or a femtocell service that integrates with DSL or other broadband carriers. The architecture can identify fault conditions relating to e.g., bandwidth oversubscription or symbolization integrity. Based upon such identification, the architecture can alter encoding format codecs of certain types of content in order to reduce their resolution/quality, thereby mitigating bandwidth oversubscription fault conditions or freeing up space (without necessarily increasing bandwidth) to insert additional FEC code.

Abstract: A system and methods of using commodity switches to produce a switch fabric are disclosed. The system comprises switches organized in tiers. Each switch is connected to switches in higher tiers via its uplink switch ports and to switches in lower tiers via its downlink switch ports. A packet received from any downlink switch port is forwarded to one of the at least one link aggregation of uplink switch ports. A packet received from any uplink switch port is forwarded according to the first label in the packet. Each switch in the highest tier is configured to insert one or more labels in a packet to be sent out via the switches. A value in a label indicates the switch port to be selected to send out the packet received at a switch.
