Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer readable medium for a virtual reality (VR) client and a contents server for live virtual reality events are provided. The contents server receives feeds from each 360° camera at a venue. The contents server transmits a primary first 360° video in a first stream and converted secondary non-360° videos in a second stream to a VR client. The VR client determines relative positions of each non-360° video in order to display rendered thumbnails of the non-360° videos in the first 360° video. The VR client transmits a selection of a non-360° video to the contents server. The contents server transmits the second 360° video related to the selection in a first stream and the converted first non-360° video in the second stream.

Abstract: Techniques described herein enable a service to receive search requests from client systems and perform an integrated search across databases containing informational data for broadcast content and broadband content. The service receives the search request from the client device and formulates a query for at least one broadband database and at least one partner broadcast database. The service queries each broadband database with a compatible query that the service creates using information regarding the type of database queries each partner's database requires. Partners pay the service provider a fee for placing data in the database or for having their database searched by the service. The service formats the data received from the searches of the databases into a user interface screen that is presentable by the client device. The screen information instructs the client device on how it should respond to any key presses by the user.

Abstract: A system comprises a video hosting subsystem configured to access a database of video streams. The video hosting subsystem comprises a processor for processing data associated with the video streams, and memory for storing data. The processor is configured to receive a user request to access a selected primary video stream. The processor is further configured to identify other video streams captured at substantially the same time and location as the selected primary video stream and in which a person specified in the user request appears. The processor is configured to select, from the identified other video streams, an alternative video stream. The processor is further configured to provide the user with access to the selected primary video stream, together with an option to access the alternative video stream.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the optimized allocation of content within a universe of inventory are described. For example, a method may include receiving content comprising at least one characteristic and at least one goal. A universe of inventory may be accessed that comprises a plurality of targets which may be assigned into a plurality of segments based on at least one demographic vector. An allocation optimization model may be generated based on the at least one content characteristic, the at least one goal and the plurality of segments. The content may be presented to the targets based on the allocation optimization model. Viewing data may be received that comprises data associated with target consumption of the content and the allocation optimization module may be re-optimized based on the viewing data. Additional factors, such as resource constraints and/or filtering rules, may be used when re-optimizing the allocation optimization module.

Disambiguation of named entities detected in a video content item being played is performed by identifying and accessing an information source directly associated with the video content item, and/or by analyzing visual content of a segment of the video content item. Selecting, proposing and/or providing an additional media content item is based on the information source and/or on the analyzing.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically determining language settings for a media asset are disclosed herein. A system receives a selection of a media asset and determines whether the media asset is available to be presented in a plurality of audio languages and subtitle languages. In response to determining that the media asset is available to be presented in a plurality of audio languages and subtitle languages, the system retrieves a first profile indicating a first recent experience based on a first number of meetings scheduled within a time period. Based on the first recent experience, the system selects an audio language and a subtitle language for presentation of the media asset. The system presents the media asset using the selected audio language and subtitle language.

More particularly, the system and method disclosed herein provides for the delivery and management of digital media content to an end user by providing the multi-device, multi-screen experience where original content, other content, and associated data can interact and flow between devices. The system and method enables an individual to create a virtually universal home commerce and monitoring ecosystem by integrating a device into their home Wi-Fi and content consumption systems.

Abstract: Embodiments of the systems, methods, and computer readable medium devices disclosed herein provide a sentiment analysis system that can determine sentiment from an input of a user received from a device. Once the input is received, parsing and analysis can be performed to determine a particular sentiment corresponding to the input. The system can determine an overall sentiment of some or all of the users or viewers watching a particular video stream, such as a live video stream. The determined overall sentiment can represent a metric indicating what users generally feel about a portion of the video stream, and the system can use the determination to cause modification of the video stream or a future video stream to enhance the user experience.

Abstract: Disclosed is a device for editing channels of a smart TV. The device includes a memory and at least one processor, wherein the memory stores therein computer readable instructions, wherein the instructions are executed by the at least one processor to enable the at least one processor to: receive an interface calling up instruction, and displaying a channel editing list and an operation prompt on a display screen of the smart TV; receive a channel selecting instruction, and determine a channel to be edited in the channel editing list according to the channel selecting instruction; and receive a channel edit instruction, and edit the channel to be edited according to the channel editing instruction, wherein the operation prompt is configured to remind a user that the channel editing instruction is triggered by using a left arrow key or right arrow key of a remote control, and the channel editing instruction is an instruction indicating deletion or a move of the channel to be edited.

Abstract: System and method embodiments are described that enable generation of an electronic content schedule. In a method embodiment, one or more data files including TV viewing data and descriptive data of a plurality of individuals are received. Target audience criteria, target TV content, and criteria for key performance indicators (KPIs) are received. KPIs for a target segment are tracked. Spot watching probabilities for each individual in the target segment are calculated. A plurality of spot packages is generated based on the target TV content. For each spot package, a probabilistic segment is generated based on the spot watching probabilities and a plurality of KPIs are calculated. Scores corresponding to the spot packages are generated based on the plurality of KPIs and based on tracked KPIs of the target segment. The content schedule is generated by selecting a spot package selected from the plurality of spot packages based on the scores.

The processor(s) obtains viewing preferences for each of the identified individuals; the preferences designate parameters for viewing media that includes content within pre-defined categories. The processor(s) consolidates the viewing preferences of the identified individuals to generate a set of guidelines for displaying content in the designated area. The processor(s) analyzes video media for display on the monitor to locate content in the categories. The processor(s) applies the set of guidelines to the content and determines that a portion of the content should be obscured when the video media is displayed on the monitor. The processor(s) displays the video media on the monitor, obscuring the portion of the content.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for minimizing delay time for controlling media content capture during live video broadcast production. The system includes a video production receiver that receives media content streams from one or more cameras that includes live media content captured by the cameras and encoded in a first encoding format. Moreover, a multi-view interface displays the media content and a video production controller generates control instructions based on inputs to the interface to change operation of the cameras capturing the respective media content. A camera controller is included that transmits the generated control instructions to the cameras to change the operation for capturing the respective media content. Moreover, the video production controls production of a live video stream for video broadcast production using media content that is captured from the cameras and that is encoded in a second encoding format different than the first encoding format.
