  • Patent number: 9130710
Abstract: The disclosure discloses a method and system for processing control channel information. A receiving side is notified, by a network side via one or more types of the following signaling, of the information required to receive or perform blind detection for a control channel, wherein the signaling part comprises at least: a Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, a System Information Block (SIB)x (x=2, 3) signaling, and a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) signaling located at the first n (n=1, 2, 3, 4) Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. In the control channel information processing technology of the disclosure, the receiving side can be notified, via signaling configuration, of at least the time domain or frequency domain location occupied by the control channel. This scheme allows for full utilization of space division technology, thus reducing the load on a physical downlink control channel, and reducing interference between control channels.

  • Patent number: 9100302
Abstract: Differences in the way a network and a host operating system handle multicast traffic is used to create a passive monitoring construct that measures both multicast availability and isolation. In one aspect, a computer registers a multicast group with a network to multicast a simple heartbeat message; consumer computers look for this heartbeat to detect multicast failures. In another aspect, a heartbeat is generated on the same multicast group that is being monitored but on a different port than the application traffic for this multicast group. The network routes the heartbeat packets identically to those of the application data but the heartbeat packets are instead delivered to a monitoring process and not the end application on arrival at the consumer computer. A correlating computer serves as a stateful warehouse of all multicast publisher and consumer information using information obtained by client-side agents.

  • Patent number: 9100338
Abstract: Systems and techniques are described which improve performance, reliability, and predictability of networks without having costly hardware upgrades or replacement of existing network equipment. An adaptive communication controller provides WAN performance and utilization measurements to another network node over multiple parallel communication paths across disparate asymmetric networks which vary in behavior frequently over time. An egress processor module receives communication path quality reports and tagged path packet data and generates accurate arrival times, send times, sequence numbers and unutilized byte counts for the tagged packets. A control module generates path quality reports describing performance of the multiple parallel communication paths based on the received information and generates heartbeat packets for transmission on the multiple parallel communication paths if no other tagged data has been received in a predetermined period of time to ensure performance is continually monitored.
