  • Patent number: 9001769
Abstract: It is determined that a first channel loading of a first access node channel meets a loading threshold. Wireless devices in active communication over the first access node channel are identified, the wireless devices comprising an application running on each wireless device, each application comprising an application requirement which meets an application requirement criteria. The identified wireless devices are ranked into a first order based on a modulation and coding scheme assigned to each wireless device, and are further ranked in a second order within the first order based on an indication of an amount of data pending transmission from each wireless device when two or more wireless devices are assigned the same modulation and coding scheme. Each identified wireless device is instructed to operate on a second access node channel according to the second order, until the first channel loading does not meet the loading threshold.

  • Patent number: 8989167
Abstract: A method and device enables establishing radio communications on a trunked network using an inbound proxy. The method includes receiving, at a first subscriber device, a control signal from a base station on an outbound control channel of the base station. A request is then transmitted from the first subscriber device to the base station on an inbound control channel of the base station. Next, it is determined, at the first subscriber device, that the request was not received by the base station. The request is therefore re-transmitted from the first subscriber device to a second subscriber device on an inbound proxy control channel. The first subscriber device then receives a response to the request from the base station. The first subscriber device is thus able to subsequently establish radio communications on the trunked network via the second subscriber device.

  • Patent number: 8988983
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing managed computer networks. In some situations, the techniques include managing communications for computing nodes of a managed computer network by using one or more particular computing nodes of the managed computer network that are configured to operate as intermediate destinations to handle at least some communications that are sent by and/or directed to one or more other computing nodes of the managed computer network. In addition, the techniques may include managing the communications in accordance with configured failure behavior specified for one or more computing nodes of the computer network, such as specified failure behavior for a computing node configured to operate as an intermediate destination that indicates how communications that would otherwise be routed via the intermediate destination computing node are to be handled if the intermediate destination computing node fails or is otherwise unavailable (e.g., to block or allow such communications).

  • Patent number: 8989144
Abstract: If a target node that enters into a transmission range is sensed, a mesh node of a wireless communication system selects an agent node having itself and a target node as a neighboring node among a plurality of neighboring nodes to form a link with the target node through the agent node. Also, the mesh node deletes the formed link if a target node that is out of a transmission range among a plurality of neighboring nodes is sensed, and forms a substitution path for at least a portion among an entire path of a connection including the deleted link.

  • Patent number: 8988993
Abstract: A wireless transmission system including antenna pairs, a demodulation functional unit, and a transmission characteristic correction unit. The antenna pairs include transmission and reception antennae. A desired wave arrives at a reception antenna in a wireless signal from one transmission antenna. Meanwhile, the reception antenna receives an unnecessary wave in a wireless signal transmitted from a different transmission antenna. The demodulation functional unit corresponding to each antenna pair demodulates a signal received by the reception antenna. The transmission characteristic correction unit carries out correction calculation based on a transmission characteristic of a transmission space between the transmission and reception antennae based on demodulation signals demodulated by the demodulation functional units to acquire an output signal corresponding to a transmission subject signal.

  • Patent number: 8982905
Abstract: A system includes scaled-out fabric coupler (SFC) boxes and distributed line card (DLC) boxes. Each SFC box has fabric ports and a cell-based switch fabric for switching cells. Each DLC box is in communication with every SFC box. Each DLC box has network ports receiving packets and network processors. Each processor has a fabric interface that provides SerDes channels. The processors divide each packet received over the network ports into cells and distribute the cells of each packet across the SerDes channels. Each DLC box further comprises DLC fabric ports through which the DLC is in communication with the SFCs. Each DLC fabric port includes a pluggable interface with a given number of lanes over which to transmit and receive cells. Each lane is mapped to one of the SerDes channels such that an equal number of SerDes channels of each fabric interface is mapped to each DLC fabric port.
