  • Patent number: 10671905
Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatus, and tangible non-transitory carrier media encoded with one or more computer programs that can determine the path or route most likely navigated by a mobile target are described. In accordance with particular embodiments, the most likely path or route is determined based on path-based scoring of position estimates obtained from different types of complementary locationing signal sources. Instead of fusing the position data derived from the different types of signal sources, these particular embodiments determine the most likely path navigated by the mobile target based on an independent aggregation of the position estimates derived from complementary signals of different source types.

  • Patent number: 10674004
Abstract: A mobile device having location services may store information pertaining to a geo-fence that is associated with a user of the mobile device and assigned to a location. The mobile device may identify a current location of the mobile device and store data pertaining to the location of the mobile device. The mobile device determines a current geo-fence state of the mobile device based on the location data in response to an internal stimuli or an external stimuli. The geo-fence state is selected from at least an inside geo-fence state in which the mobile device is deemed to be inside the geo-fence and an outside geo-fence state in which the mobile device is deemed to be outside of the geo-fence. The mobile device may notify a remote server of the current geo-fence state.

  • Patent number: 10674552
Abstract: Using a method of operating a system that includes remote servers, multiple electronic devices, and a wireless portable, the portable wireless device receives notification of an incoming call. The system uses the remote servers and other parts of the system to determine that one of the electronic devices can wirelessly communicate with the portable wireless device, and establishes a wireless connection between the portable wireless device and that device. The system determines whether the user is also located with the portable wireless device and wirelessly connected device and if so, routes incoming call audio to that device. If the system determines that the user is located with a different device, incoming call audio is routed from the portable wireless device to the device near the portable wireless device, and then the call audio is bridged to the device near the user.

Abstract: The description relates to device pairing. One example can involve a computing device (e.g., companion device) and a stylus. The companion device can have a display and be configured to communicate in accordance with a wireless protocol. The stylus can be configured to transmit proximity information to the computing device when a user brings a tip of the stylus proximate to the display and be configured to supply wireless protocol identification information with the proximity information. The computing device can be configured to pair with the stylus over the wireless protocol using the wireless protocol identification information without requiring any additional action from the user on the computing device or the stylus.

  • Patent number: 10659972
Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide a system and methods for determining a minimum number of communication nodes to substantially cover a particular geographical area and for optimizing an extension of an optical network to provide service to the communication nodes. In one implementation, at least one parameter for one or more forces configured to control interactions of a plurality of nodes is received. Each of the nodes has a node range corresponding to an effective operational limit of the node. Boundary information defining a geographical area to which coverage by a network may be provided is received. The one or more forces are simulated to distribute the plurality of nodes. The simulation of the one or more forces causes the plurality of nodes to become positioned in an overall layout such that the defined geographical area is substantially covered by the node ranges.

  • Patent number: 10602313
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for state-based location monitoring and determining a location of a mobile device. An application processor identifies a desired movement state. The application processor notifies a coprocessor of the desired state and enters a low power mode. The coprocessor monitors movement data to determine whether the desired state has occurred. In the event the desired state has occurred, the coprocessor will notify the application processor. The application processor can then determine whether it should switch to a high power mode.

  • Patent number: 10595164
Abstract: Determining a location of a user equipment (UE) based on historical location data and historical sector transition data is disclosed. A correlation between historic location information and a historic sector transition can be determined. The correlation can be stored in a searchable data set. A location of a current UE can be inferred based on a sector transition of the current UE. The sector transition of the current UE can be searched against the data set to indicate a likely location of the current UE based on historical information. The searchable data set can be based on sparse location data enabling location determinations for a current UE that can otherwise lack location services. Moreover, an order of a sector transition can imbue a directionality to stored location information such that a likely location in a sector can be correlated to a transition from a prior sector of a network session of the UE.
