Abstract: A disposable absorbent underwear product includes a garment layer, an absorbent insert, a non-woven patch, and a barrier. The absorbent insert has a fluid-impermeable base layer, an absorbent core, and a fluid-permeable top layer. The non-woven patch covers an end of the absorbent insert. A first portion of the non-woven patch is adhered to both the fluid-permeable top layer of the absorbent insert and the garment layer with an adhesive. A second portion of the non-woven patch is free and forms a pouch. An end portion of the absorbent core is disposed adjacent to the second portion of the non-woven patch. The barrier extends along a width of the absorbent insert. The barrier extends through the fluid-permeable top layer of the absorbent core and connects the fluid-impermeable base layer and the one non-woven patch to direct fluid flow to the absorbent core and militate against fluid overflow.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid management system (LMS) and an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate a topsheet and a backsheet. The LMS defines one or more channels therein. The one or more channels of the LMS may at least partially overlap or not overlap with channels defined in the absorbent core.

Abstract: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems and methods for operating the systems are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system includes a negative pressure source, a sensor, and a controller. The negative pressure source can provide negative pressure via a fluid flow path to the wound dressing. The sensor can monitor pressure in the fluid flow path. The controller can determine whether the wound dressing is coupled to a wound from a change in magnitude of pressure in the fluid flow path over time being more indicative of a steady state condition than a chaotic condition while the negative pressure source maintains negative pressure in the fluid flow path within a pressure range. In addition, the controller can output a first indication denoting that the wound dressing is coupled to the wound and a second indication denoting that the wound dressing is not coupled to the wound.
Abstract: An absorbent hygienic article for absorbing body fluids, the article including a liquid permeable topsheet, a backing layer and an absorbent core arranged between the topsheet and the backing layer, the topsheet and the backing layer being made from roll materials. The topsheet or an absorbent layer in the absorbent core is constituted by a cellulosic fibrous web, the fibres in the cellulosic fibrous web being constituted by a mixture of cellulose fibres including regenerated cellulose fibres or natural cellulose staple fibres and cellulose pulp fibres, the cellulosic fibrous web being a foam-formed, hydroentangled fibrous web.
