  • Patent number: 4212412
Abstract: A game employing a gun capable of emitting a light beam can be played using a target apparatus which ejects objects each time this apparatus is approximately actuated by a light beam. The target apparatus includes a turntable which is capable of being rotated by a motor. The turntable includes a plurality of holders, each of which is adapted to hold an object to be ejected from the apparatus. An ejection lever is mounted on the base of the apparatus so as to be capable of ejecting an object from a holder positioned directly above it. After such an object is ejected the motor rotates the turntable. Structures are provided for returning the ejection lever to a position in which it can eject an object from an adjacent holder and for indexing the turntable so that an adjacent holder is above the lever as a result of such rotation of the turntable. A circuit including a photocell is provided on the apparatus for operation of the ejection lever so as to eject an object from a holder positioned above this lever.

  • Patent number: 4206925
Abstract: A surprise action game apparatus comprising in a presently preferred form a game board defining a plurality of pathways, one for each player, and each having a starting end and extending longitudinally therefrom to a finish line. There are a plurality of play pieces, one on each player's path for longitudinal movement therealong. The play pieces are adapted to be knocked over when engaged. The game apparatus further includes a knock-down unit which may be positioned at the starting end of any selected one of the pathways. The unit includes a movable wheeled toy striker vehicle and operating mechanism for propelling the vehicle along the selected pathway, but only after random or apparently random operation of the mechanism, to engage and knock down the play piece on that pathway. In play of the game, at each player's turn, the player places the knock-down unit at the start of his or her pathway and selectively operates the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4200780
Abstract: An electronic amusement game incorporating manually operated control circuit devices. A control panel in the game housing is formed with slots through which operating handles of the devices project. A circular protective cover is rotatably mounted between the device and inside surface of the panel. The operating handle projects through a radial slot formed in the cover so that linear movement of the handle rotates the cover. In all positions of the handle the cover provides a shield beneath the panel slot.

  • Patent number: 4200283
Abstract: A spinning top game includes a spinner mounting a permanent magnet, a housing having a dished top base for supporting the spinner above an induction coil in the housing connected in an electric circuit including a source of electric potential and an electronic switch so arranged that when the spinner is rotated on the dished base, the moving magnetic field of the magnet cuts the coil turns and the resulting induced current operates the electronic switch intermittently to connect the source of electric potential across the coil, the resulting current flow through the coil producing a magnetic field which is imposed upon the moving magnet spinner such as to accelerate its movement.

  • Patent number: 4198046
Abstract: A combination gun and target which provide a safe target game that fires no missile, but appears to knock over the targets by direct hits as a result of good aiming and proper timing. The gun has an improved switching mechanism, and the target assembly includes a kicking device to knock down the targets and an indicating device, which indicates when the target kicking device and indicating device are aligned so that when the trigger of the gun is pulled at the instant the indicating device is aligned with the target, the kicking device will knock the target over.

  • Patent number: 4198050
Abstract: A competitive game device which comprises a frame having a rippled playing surface. The rippled surface is formed by a plurality of transversely extending spaced apart recesses separated by arcuately shaped transversely extending ridge portions. The various recesses are assigned scoring values and certain of the recesses also have higher scoring values than other recesses. Each player may have a plurality of balls bearing his indicia. For example, the balls of each player may be a different color. A ramp leads downwardly to the first recess and the players take turns releasing balls down the ramp and onto the rippled playing surface. In a preferred form, the values of successive recesses initially increase; however, if a player's ball goes past the highest value recess, he will get a lower score, by virtue of the ball landing in a lower scoring recess or other area such as a gutter.

Located at each end of the track and integrally mated with the track is a projectile launcher. At least one projectile, a small heavy spherical object, is ejected forcibly by the projectile launcher along the surface of the track. Resting on the track is an object member. The object member includes a self-propelling internal locomotion device which moves the object member back and forth reversibly between the projectile launchers located on the ends of the track.

  • Patent number: 4186927
Abstract: A competitive game device employing propulsion means suitable for propelling table tennis balls toward a target suitable for receiving such balls. The target is located in a field having sloping contours for guiding balls which have missed the target to return to a launching position from which such balls may again be propelled toward the target. This invention provides pneumatic podially operated ball propulsion means having actuators spaced from the field in which the target is located and which are movable with respect to each other and the field. Competing players or teams may be allocated sets of colored or otherwise coded balls to be launched and relaunched toward the target. The stations from which a competitor propels the allocated balls at the start of the game may be randomly selected.
