  • Patent number: 11510429
Abstract: Cyclic ketal compounds provide excellent foam protection when having at least one moiety of a threshold size (comprising 4 or more carbon atoms) pendant from a ketal carbon. The carbons in such moieties may be present in one or more chains. The cyclic ketal compounds of the present invention are compatible with foodstuff manufacturing. In particular, it has been discovered that the cyclic ketal compounds of the present invention exhibit excellent foam control performance in both potato and sugar beet processing systems.

  • Patent number: 11487724
Abstract: The embodiments provide a system and method for continuously updating a target repository to include both the latest data and corrected historical data. The system includes a data manager and at least two staging repositories. Each time the system retrieves the latest data from the source repository it also retrieves a portion historical data. Both the latest data and the historical data are transformed, and the historical portion of the transformed data is compared with corresponding data from the target repository to determine if there are any defects in the data from the target repository. The target repository is automatically updated if a defect is detected.

  • Patent number: 11484044
Abstract: Legume plant-based proteins, especially pea protein, are used as a primary source for twin-screw extrusion to manufacture an intermediate moisture, texturized protein piece that can be further processed by controlled hydration and coated with a batter, breading, or coating to produce a comestible product. Protein is the predominate ingredient (70-95%) in the extruded piece. In the preferred embodiment, the protein is pea powder and flavor is provided by addition of yeast extract to impart beef, chicken, or pork flavor. Additional components in the form of hydrophilic polymers and alkalai are also added prior to extrusion to insure desired texture and handling properties. The hydrophilic polymers impart functional properties such as water-binding, thereby aiding in foaming, emulsifying, texturizing, and gelation, important to manufacturing an intermediate moisture texturized plant-protein product by extrusion.

  • Patent number: 11487723
Abstract: Techniques are provided for orphan object detection, invalid sequence number detection, and asynchronous object cleanup. A storage system may store data within one or more tiers of storage, such as a storage tier (e.g., solid state storage and disks maintained by the storage system), a remote object store (e.g., storage provided by a third party storage provider), and/or other storage tiers. Orphan objects, within the remote object store, that are no longer used by the storage system may be detected and/or deleted. When an aggregate of volumes is deleted, corresponding objects, within the remote object store, may be identified and/or deleted. Invalid sequence numbers (e.g., lost or corrupt sequence numbers locally maintained in a metafile) assigned to objects within the remote object store may be identified, deleted, and/or fixed.
