Abstract: A tool for reattaching a leader pin assembly to the data tape of a data tape cartridge utilizes a base that snaps onto the cartridge body. The tool opens the door of the cartridge and the loose leader tape inside the cartridge is laid in an alignment channel. A leader pin is inserted into a set of receptacles over the tape, and a clip is inserted into a pocket within an arm on the tool. The tape is then folded and pulled down over the leader pin and held in the alignment channel with a finger of the user. The arm of the tool, which retains the clip, is then pivoted from a disengaged position to an engaged position. The clip snaps over a center section of the leader pin and the folded tape to form a leader pin assembly, thereby securing the tape in the leader pin assembly.

Abstract: Coil members are obtained by forming width-reduced portions in a wire material over a predetermined longitudinal range generally centered on cutting positions, then removing an insulation coating from the width-reduced portions, and thereafter cutting the wire material at the width-reduced portions. Coil segments are prepared by bending the coil members into a general U shape. Then the coil segments are inserted into the slots in a stator core, and a stator is obtained by welding together the free end portions of the projecting coil segments.

Abstract: A cylinder block production method is characterized by having, as a step prior to a cast-enclosing step of cast-enclosing a cast iron-made cylinder liner within a cylinder block body, an erosion-wash step of washing an outer peripheral wall surface of the cylinder liner and eroding a portion of a base structure of the cast iron forming the outer peripheral wall surface of the cylinder liner so as to form many small protrusions on the outer peripheral wall surface by jetting a high-pressure fluid onto the outer peripheral wall surface of the cylinder liner, in order to improve strength of adhesion between the cylinder liner and the cylinder block body. Since the base structure is partially eroded, complicated-shape small protrusions can be formed. Furthermore, sand and a mold release agent adhering to the outer peripheral wall surface of the cylinder liner can be removed. Therefore, the adhesion strength will improve.
Abstract: A pulley is made by fixing an edge of an opening of a plate by using a first upper mandrel ring installed at a lower end of a first supporting pin of a first forming device. A supporting block is disposed around an upper end of a first spindle and is rotated with the first spindle. An inner nub is formed by inwardly pressing an upper surface of the plate against a first pressing roller to reduce the thickness of the plate while drawing the plate around a first upper mandrel ring. The plate is fixed to a second spindle of a second forming device, so the plate rotates with the second spindle. An outer hub is formed by pressing a convex bead toward the inner hub by using a fourth pressing roller and by drawing the outer hub.
